Update: An earlier headline for this post stated that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is coming to PS Vita, which was incorrect. Type-0 is coming to PS4 in North America and Europe.
I’d like to start this out by thanking everyone who let us know how badly you wanted this game to come to North America. Ever since the original PlayStation Portable release in Japan, you guys have never given up on it, raising your voices in an effort to see this title come to North America and Europe. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s coming and it’s going to be in HD.

Anyone who wants Type-0 of the Vita, go to Square-Enix’s Twitter page and tell them in person there.
This Blog can only do so much.
While you’re at it, tell them to implement touchscreen control for the combat menus and other Vita technologies.
Also, do go sign that new petition.
Also, there’s no real reason why we can’t enjoy the PS4 version, because I’m buying it on the PS4.
If the Vita version comes, I’ll buy that one too.

@1214 Psychoslayer8 — An HD remake of a game Western audiences never got in the first place. KH Birth by Sleep’s getting an HD remake, too, only for PS3 (and its “FINAL MIX” version, no less!), but at least portable players got their go at the game before. Heck, my copy’s still within arm’s reach this very moment!
FF Type-0 is a different beast, and after the FFX/X-2 HD Remaster proved itself, it’s crazy to not release a PSP remaster on that same system’s successor. The only excuse is a from-the-ground-up remake that just cannot be handled by the Vita or PSTV. But, I doubt that’s the case.
I find it hard to believe people would say the PS Vita is abandonned when just 1 game isn’t released on it.
I’ve already stated a bunch of games already on the system. There’s more games to come.
I get everyone, I’m upset as well. I bought a Vita mainly for that game alone. I got the imported Japan version for PSP.
But Hell, I’m not going to not buy it after this long wait for the game. I am getting it for the PS4.
You should continue to ask for this game on the Vita, but please, don’t let the graphics get downgraded back to the PSP version.
If they are working on a true HD remaster, then they better deliver much better visuals than what we’ve seen. Also a much better ending and sequel included.

How many watching even realize the “PlayStation TV” actually IS a barebones Vita? While there are many, prolific titles and brands coming out for the Vita, the only people how would know are those who put in the effort themselves. The Vita’s presence and promotion from Sony is vaporous.

The fact that PS4 sold a lot since launch doesn’t mean everybody dumped their Vitas in favor of PS4 or turned it into a glorified PS4 accessory.
If the insider information that the HD update will not feature a radical update, it is unacceptable that the game is not released for PS Vita as well.c
@1220 I think that this was more of a breaking point for Vita owners. Not only were they shafted in Sony’s own damn conference, but the irony of it all is that their campaign jrpgvita was a huge factor in this games’ localisation and in the end they still get left out. More to come? what are you referring to? Genuine question because the only thing that was announced at E3 for Vita was a bunch of Indie games and an old disney game for kids. Not one exclusive was announced. More over, more time was spent talking about Video services than the console which is in dire need of attention. People need to realise that Vita owners didn’t pay for a streaming/indie machine. If we wanted that we could save ourselves money by just buying a WiiU, rather than paying for a psvita and a PS4. If Sony isn’t going to support it’s own damn console then they should come out and say it, so people don’t make the mistake of buying the damn thing only to find out that they’re rarely going to get any meaningful exclusives on it. Just indies, ports of old games which are done really bad, and the odd exclusives here and there.
#NOVITANOBUY: I own both Vita and a PS4, but whoever screwed this blog post up just lost you a sale.
For one the game is old, and no degree of remastering will make it worth the difference in price between a vita game and a PS4 game for me. Also this blog post cites demand for Type-0 for western markets, yeah sure there was demand but never for PS4, actually scratch that, there was never demand for anything but PSP or a Vita version.
To me not bringing it to the vita in the west, especially when the PlayStation (Vita) TV is coming to the west this fall, even though someone at Sony seems to be afraid to use their own original brand name for it, makes no bloody sense. Sure PS4 has a huge installed user base, but nothing will ever make a remake of an old game more than a remake of an old game for me, even if we did not get the original PSP title. Also 99$ seems like a lot less to pay to play this game than circa 400$ for anyone who doesn’t already own a next gen console.
Well done Square-Enix, well done Sony. Complete lack of foresight there, this might have had the power to move units in the West (when they cost 99$) but it certainly does not have any such power now.

Well I guess you weren’t looking on this blog at the beginning of this year when they announced a bunch of games for the Vita.
Does the Vita need more support? Absolutely. No denying it.
After what, 2 years all they acheived was 8 million when the PS4 already out and in 8 months has that same number.
I WANT more support for the Vita. But I’m Not going to Not buy this game because it’s on the PS4 instead.

Already playing the fan translation on my TN-V8 equipped vita, Sony you’re a bit late to the game with this one.
It’s really disappointing when considering the fact that Type-0 is really more suited for the handheld. I’ll support the PS4 version but would rather have had the vita version instead.
I bought FFX/X-2 HD for both PS3 and Vita just to show that there is love for Vita JRPG’s.

In all honesty, I’m glad this game is coming to PS4 but we PSVita owners have been asking for this game to be brought to the west for a long time now and I think the community is very dedicated to the system and this just shows that we love our PSVitas so we want more to play with. Sony needs to step it up and support the PSVita properly as they promised that what happened to the PSP wouldn’t happen to PSVita. I have 2 Vitas at home and own a PS3 and PS4 and I just want to see the attitude and support Sony promised us. If this game were to release on PSVita I’d purchase it on both systems. WE WANT GAMES.
BTW, guys don’t be too hard on @ShahidKamal, he’s been working with the community and is doing his job. He says Sony has heard but something of this nature can’t be decided on one day. We do need to keep pushing so that the higher-ups understand our passion for our consoles.
BTW, If someone from Sony is reading… I think a Vita bundle with Type-0 would be pretty well received?

I agree with everything that +Gameboss01 said that is, comment @1242. Not only are we sad that you seem to want to keep this game from us, but it is a bad business decision. This game could be a big push for the Vita, I know so many people would buy a vita for this, making it perfect for a new bundle Sony. Square, the big outcry for this game to be localized was mostly from Vita owners and enthusiasts, by leaving us out you leave out the majority of your FFType-0 buyers and expect the PS4 and Xbox One owners to carry the game’s sales, most of them don’t even know what this game is. We don’t need the HD remaster on the Vita if that is what you are so afraid of, simply applying the localization that you will have to do for the remaster to the original PSP content and putting it on PSN like it already is in Japan will make us happy, most of us would probably buy it for both Vita/PSP and PS4 then, cross-save would be a great feature as well.
I think one of the most offensive things about this for Vita owners is SQEX thanking their fans for asking for Type-0 and then release it on a console where those fans never asked to have the game onto.
C’mon Square. Support Vita and Vita owners will not let you down and will buy Type-0 day one. I personally guarantee you I will double or triple dip on it.

I would buy this on Vita and PS4 if it was released on Vita since I’m sure it would have cross-save. I bought FF X HD Remaster on both PS3 and Vita. I’d do the same with this game but since it’s been backpedaled on the Vita version which I wanted more than any other version: #NoVitaNoBuy.

No. Most of us aren’t deluded into thinking an online petition would be effective in any way (they NEVER are). Unless a company says otherwise, they don’t ever pay attention to that stuff so they’re pretty much a waste of time. This especially being true when there are far more direct forms of communication these days.
