This is truly an exciting time for all of us at PlayStation. Over the past few months, we’ve been able to show you a glimpse of the stunning new games being created for PlayStation 5, taking advantage of the console’s unique capabilities to deliver lightning-fast loading, heightened immersion, and a whole new generation of experiences. And we’re excited that the time for you to experience these brave new adventures is almost here.

As we have just announced in our PS5 Showcase, we’re only a couple of months away from launching the next generation of play. Starting on November 12, PS5 will be available in seven key markets: the U.S., Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. The global rollout will continue on November 19 with launches throughout the rest of the world*, including Europe, Middle East, South America, Asia and South Africa. PS5 Digital Edition will be available for a recommended retail price (RRP) of $399.99 USD/$499 CAD/¥39,980/€399.99/£359.99 (MSRP), and PS5 with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive will be available for an RRP of $499.99 USD/$629 CAD/¥49,980/€499.99/£449.99 (MSRP). Pre-orders will be available starting as early as tomorrow at select retailers, so please check with your local retailer.

We’re pleased to provide choice to gamers with two PS5 console options at launch, depending on if you want a digital-only experience or prefer disc-based gaming. Whichever PS5 you choose, you’ll enjoy the same breathtaking, next-gen gaming experiences. Both PS5 models use the same custom processor with integrated CPU and GPU for high-fidelity visuals, including 4K graphics and ray-tracing support, as well as the same ultra-high-speed SSD with integrated I/O for lightning-fast loading. PS5’s 3D audio and the DualSense Wireless Controller will also provide the same heightened sense of immersion on all PS5s. 

We are proud of the breadth of games being created for PS5, and it’s our goal to continue filling our portfolio with new, rich experiences from the most talented game creators in the industry. Today we shared a sneak peek at the following new games coming to PS5:

These newly revealed titles, along with the games we’ve shown previously, represent the best lineup we’ve ever seen in PlayStation history. Games like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, and Demon’s Souls will launch alongside the console. Our own Worldwide Studios titles will be priced from US$49.99 to US$69.99 (RRP) on PS5. 

Additionally, we know that the PS4 community will transition to PS5 at different times, and we’re happy to announce PS4 versions of some of our exclusives. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy A Big Adventure, and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on PS4. While these three games were designed to take advantage of PS5 and its unique next-gen features like the ultra-high-speed SSD and DualSense controller, PS4 owners will also be able to enjoy these experiences when they launch. The PS4 digital versions of launch games include a free upgrade on both PS5 consoles, while the PS4 disc versions of these games include a free upgrade on the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc drive.

For PlayStation Plus members, we’ll have a special new offering on PS5 – the PlayStation Plus Collection**. PS5 owners with PS Plus will be able to download and play a curated library of PS4 games that defined the generation, like Batman Arkham Knight, Bloodborne, Fallout 4, God of War, Monster Hunter: World, Persona 5 and many more. The PS Plus Collection will be an added benefit to the existing PS4 benefits that PS Plus members receive for a single subscription price.

    So on ps5 release date are there even go non go to be any available to an average consumer? Y even realease a new gen system if ur not ready for it. Even if COVID was your excuse why realease it now when u can’t properly make them available. I love PS but this will most likely cause me to just commit more to my Nintendo and and forget about the hype of ur ps5. I mean if a normal consumer can’t get one on its realease date that’s absurd. #fakePS5release date!!!!! WFT PS

    I would like to know if the Razor Raiju controller will work on PS5? And will there be special specifications for people with disabilities? I suffer from Spinal Muscular Atrophy and it is extremely difficult for me to press buttons, will there be gamepad options with additional buttons?

    I was one of the lucky one to be able to pre order by email invite, but it’s a digital, I been trying to contact Playstation to help me fix this I rather have the Standard version of the PS5 instead of the digital is there anyone out there know how I can contact Playstation to upgrade to PS5 Standard version???     1 question has not been answered and has been completely ignored. Will the PS5 require a constant 24-Hour Internet Connection. Sony has not talked about this and everyone has ignored this subject.

    For me, this would be a deal-breaker. I would not buy the PS5 if it has a constant 24 hour always online connection. Considering that Godfall is Always Online. This somewhat confirms that the PS5 is indeed Always Online.

    If so then the PS4 will be my last & final console. I just refuse to buy any game or any console that forces DRM or uses a constant online connection. This should be a choice & should not be forced.

    This is why I did not buy MK 11, COD Modern Warfare or Marvel’s The Avengers cause of Always Online. Like I said should be a choice not forced. If people want Always Online then they should buy Digital not Physical. If you want Always Online get the Digital PS5.

    Also if you buy the PS5 Physical + 70 Game this is about 580 bucks then some games will require PSN+ which is about 59 also so this will be about 700 give or take then even more if you decide to get PSVR 2 which I bet will be about 300 +.

    Then certain people will have to upgrade their TV’s to 4K or even up to 8K. Also I was less than impressed with the Launch Line Up. Most of these games are mainly Ports or Remakes. such as Devil May Cry 5 where you can play as Vergil.

    Where are the exclusive games besides Ratchet which looks amazing. But I would like to see a new Infamous or a new Reboot of Jak & Daxter why is it always Ratchet & never Jak & Daxter the last game was Final Frontier. a PS5 Reboot would be amazing both for Jak & Infamous. I loved Second Son. Sad that both Infamous & Jak are gone & never coming back.

    I’ve been the most loyal die hard no nonsense,never owned a Xbox,infact called it Crap Box for most my life,but!!!Ever since i got the ps4 pro brand new in the box since day one check all the errors replaced the hardrive (Had to) and still same errors,stayed loyal still make thousand dollars in purchases yearly please check how much i spend and its only on sony.Wheres my ps5 pre order wheres my Email either way,i really believe these are the end days cause after 37 years of pure sony,game,tvs,radio….I will be purchasing either Xbox,PC this generation sony losing its japanese roots of respect havent felt like a proud sony fan over 2 years now.Losing a 37 year tru customer is no small feat.Please check how much we spend!!!

    Still nothing on Always Online Required. For me this would be a deal-breaker. Until this is answered. I am just going to keep my PlayStation 4. The good thing about when a new console comes out.

    Previous consoles will go down considerably. While other people will be forking over 70 dollars for these newer games. I can rack up on cheaper PS4 games getting about 4 to 6 PS4 games compared to 1 70 Dollar PS5 game. More games but would ultimately depend on their prices.

    The PS4 Consoles should also drop in price both the Slim & Pro but unknown when or how much SONY will drop the PS4 Price. Also I can get other deals I have not got for my PS4 such as PS4 VR which I have been wanting to try out.

    But still this is most unusual that SONY has not revealed any information regarding about the PS5’s Online Requirements which games will be constant Online such as God Fall or COD Black Ops & other games like The Avengers.

    Pretty much confirmed the PS5 is indeed Always Online Required.

    Simple Fix for Backwards Compatible. Keep your previous consoles. No one hardly does BC in these consoles anymore. Hence why I keep all my consoles. PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP & Vita. Because I know that these consoles will not be fully BC.

    Even if it is BC with PS4 games. Then that also may not indicate that all PS4 games would be playable on the PS5 or how PS4 BC will work on the PS4 such as Physical PS4 Disc, Digital PS4 Content. Or if massive Patches would be required to play PS4 Games & content.

    I doubt this would be a simple stick in your PS4 game & play it situation such as putting a PS1 game into my PS2 did. Or the 60 Gig PS3 played PS2 Disc. Nothing is known about how PS4 BC will work on the PS5.

    Just that is is PS4 BC. But like I said would be more simple just to keep your PS4 instead.

    OK so ps store says if I buy the ps5 version of a game I get the ps4 version for free. Yet there is no option for ps5 version only ps4 version. So is it actually that I will get ps5 version for free if I purchase the ps4 version? I don’t want to get caught in a technical issue, where I am told I should have read the “fine” print.

    I don’t get it…what was the point in making me subscribe to be notified for pre-orders when I was never notified and missed the chance to pre-order. Makes completely no sense! Had it all planned to pre-order so my son might be able to get it for his birthday. Especially since my 10 yr old saved $530 on his own so he could get the pre-order. Thanks a lot Playstation! Bet we could have ordered the new Xbox

    I will never purchase another playstation product. They cancelled my child’s account for an month because somebody made a false complaint and there was no recourse. We waited the month and the same person did it to us again and they cancelled it completely with no explanation and no recourse. They are impossible to reach and offer ZERO CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE. Playstation is a complete waste of time. I am just going to sell my games and take the profits from that to move over to a different gaming system.
