Thank you for letting us know that you’ve heard us!. Now if you could give me back my sleek and elegant XMB, I will once again be a happy and content PS3 owner!. This this the first time I’ve ever been anything but happy with a update, so I’m glad to know that something will be done!.
I just have one question, I know this is not the right spot for this post but I couldn’t find it…. My question is how come when you look at the Jap and EU stores in regards to PSOne classics they have twice as many games as the NA store. I’m a huge fan of the classic RPG’s and would love to see more of them in the Canadian Store.
Not sure if 3.0 is causing this or not but my backwards-compatible-with-PS2 PS3 has been freezing whenever I play a PS2 game now ever since I updated to 3.0.

I want a PS Store icon on every category! Better two – one on top of the list and one in the bottom for each category just in case I can’t locate the top one…

MY problem is that when using the inter browser that it freezes up that is what is ticking me off so please please for the love of the PS Company who we all love plz get a new update out or at east let us choose what one we want (3.0 or 2.8)
Also can we get a dam freaking update. At least give us some type of ETA. WTF
everything is working perfectly for me. I only hope we’ll see a free dynamic theme to try it on some day.
Hi guys, I tries to update to the newest firmware 3 and it goes to 23 % and sits there , I cannot get past that point. I am a newbe to the PS 3 and I would like suggestions as to how to resolve this ..

Blue Ray movies are locking up since the new version 3.00 update. How soon until the issue is resolved???
My online game play with Modern Warfare has improved. On the other hand, version 3.0 tanked my PS3’s ability to play DVD’s and Blu-ray videos for more than 3-5 minutes. After that the audio keeps going and the video freezes. Talk about an angering thing to have happen…I bought the PS3 over the XBOX360 because of the Blu-ray drive making it a home entertainment system as well.
ROLL BACK TO 2.80 and fix everyone’s problems! This is easily the most irresponsible thing I have seen done in consumer electronics ever. The rollback to 2.80 and firing the project manager and head coder of the 3.0 project is almost a given requirement at this point, as my product has been rendered useless for ANYTHING media related and if it is not dealt with in a mature manner, I’m going to recommend Sony consumers begin contacting their State Attorney Generals regarding this as, with no rollback to a working state being offered, this is basically willful mass vandalizing of private property (rendering the product not working).

My original fat PS3 is COMPLETELY UNPLAYABLE after 3.0. I never had any issue at all before 3.0. Now, I can’t play any game more than 5-10 minutes before it locks up and crashes. Usually it locks up with a black screen, sometimes locks up with an image on the screen. SO FRUSTRATING!!!!! SONY FIX THIS ASAP!!!! I can’t even use my PS3 with 3.0!!!!
This ‘update’ was lame, roll back to 2.80.
Thank God. Just my luck, I did the system update between the time it was released, and the time that the problem was identified. I can’t play PS3 games, but can play PS2 games and DVD’s. Kudos to Sony for posting info on the progress of the problem.
wow the 3.0 update will go down in history as one of the biggest business f%ckups ever. nearly every customer has had some sort of problem with it and there is no response. no wonder the ps3 is in last place, someone has their head so far up their a$$ at this company they can taste what they had for breakfast
Aaaarrrgghhh!!!!! It’s a long weekend and NONE of my games now under 3.0 will play for more than 10 minutes! Including Batman, which I’m sure is a good game but it keeps crashing!!!
The ticker is really annoying.
I can’t believe how annoying the ticker is.
The ticker just goes on and on and on and on.
I would really like to turn the ticker off.
But the ticker just keeps going.
The ticker doesn’t say anything of interest.
Almost nobody wants to read what it says.
Why does it go on?
It’s basically a distraction from whatever I actually wanted to do with the PS3.
I can try to tune it out, but there’s no way to get rid of it.
It keeps trying to grab my attention.
How can anyone stand it?
Perhaps the worst part is that when it runs out of things to say, it repeats itself.
i am in Australia and i cannot even install the new update. every time the ps3 tries to install the update it says the file is corrupted. i have done a system restore and tried to install a number of ways and still no luck. Will there be a 3.01 or something so i can try that?
As though I must not have read the message correctly before.
Because surely, I must be eagerly anticipating whatever it has to say next.
It is really annoying.
It’s really quite ridiculous how annoying the ticker is.
It keeps going and going and going and going.
It would be nice if there were a way to disable it.
But there isn’t; it just keeps going.

I would hope that one of the main issues addressed in the 3.0 ‘post mortem’ analysis and (hopefuly) soon-to-be-release 3.01 is a change in the management structure for the OS/firmware division.
There are very serious problems with that unit’s ability to listen to customer feature requests and respond in a timely and professional manner. Update after update we are treated to seemingly random ‘features’ that NO ONE has requested and do NOTHING to improve the Playstation experience for current and future customers.
Also, the fact that you have stepped in to officially acknowledge the issues surrounding 3.0 and not Eric Lempel speaks volumes for Mr. Lempel’s managerial accumen.
Please consider moving Eric to another division in Sony where he can do less harm. He has failed repeatedly in his current capacity.
