PlayStation Plus: Free Games for March 2016

Well, you’ve done it again! After an exciting Vote to Play campaign, PlayStation Plus users have selected Broforce as the first title in March’s PS4 free games lineup. You picked it, you got it!

If you’re a fan of the other two games, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Assault Android Cactus and Action Henk will be available for PlayStation Plus members with a 30% discount from March 8th to March 21st.

So what can you expect as a bro in Broforce? You’ll fight evil and rescue bro teammates using fire, napalm, and whatever else you find in the name of freedom. We hope you enjoy this run ‘n’ gun shooter with up to four of your closest bros.

Next up, Galak-Z, a two dimensional sci-fi shooter taken to the next level. Pilot your ship through this physics-driven, procedurally generated world while surviving several enemy factions. Wait, did I mention that your ship can transform into a laser sword-wielding Mech? Can this get any better? (Hint: Stay tuned for exciting news about Galak-Z in the coming weeks.)

Great lineup guys.

Broforce has gotten great reviews on PC.

Galak-Z is one of my FAVORITE games from last year. Glad many more get to try it now.

Super Stardust HD is ESSENTIAL PS gaming. People are saying this is a bad game? LOLOLOL

The Last Guy is another early gem. So much fun. I had a great time with this back in the day. So sad people are so closed minded and dismissing this well-reviewed game because of its looks and that it’s an indie.

Flame Over, another well reviewed game. Haven’t played it. Can’t wait to try it.

Reality Fighters. THERE’S the full retail title everyone’s always asking for. Funny, it’s the weakest game of the bunch.

People are saying Xbox is the place to go? And they’re using Lords of the Fallen and Sherlock as rationale?

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I’d take this lot over THAT any day, and I own a One. PS wins this month. Hand of Fate was cool last month but they couldn’t keep it up 2 months in a row.

It is all good Sony. You can’t please all the people all the time. I am loving Helldiver’s from this month, and Gauntlet from December. I am down for what you are doing, spreading indie awareness and really if you’re hung up on the whole AAA argument, let your subscription run out and be done. You clearly have 1) a closed mind and 2) a short term memory and 3) a small HDD cause you don’t have games to play. I have a PS4 with 10+ games loaded, a PS3 with 20+ games loaded and a vita with about 8-10 titles for when I hit the road. Sony you done good by me (Y)

I won’t be downloading The Last Guy or Super Stardust HD for my last gen PS3 in March 2016. I have no interest in either game. I’m out of space on my 500 GB PS3 anyway, so if I want a game, then I’ll have to delete a game. I do like some Indie games. At first, I was going to delete Kung Fu Rabbit, but I decided to keep it. February 2016 games for PS3 are great and I downloaded all of them! I got Helldivers: Democracy Strikes Back, Grid Autosport, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax , and Nova-111! I’m only a casual gamer and I don’t play often. These games are not going to be worth what little time I have to play games.

Here I thought last month was horrible, just getting worse. Can we make a new option in PS Plus, where we opt to not download any of the games for the month and just pay a lower rate for online play only? Maybe when Sony execs start seeing a huge decline in their PS Plus market they’ll start looking at the buffoons running it and wish them luck in their new found unemployment and start taking PS Plus serious again. How about starting with bringing back PS1 and PS2 free games? Drop the PS Vita games all together. Look at your sales numbers, consoles is what we have, don’t care about the handful of kids who got a Vita from mom and dad.

  Yea but you’re not paying for free games and getting online play/features as a perk, you’re paying for online play and features and getting free games as a perk. If you bought a 300-400 ps4 and a 50 a year subscription just in hopes of getting free AAA games I think you’ll be disappointed. Even if you don’t use online that’s still what the money goes to support, better online service overall. It’s even cheaper than Xbox. People used to pay for Gold back when free games were unheard of. Broaden your horizons people. Indie =\= Bad

I’m surprised people are complaining about this month and last month. Nom Nom Galaxy was fantastic, Helldivers was fantastic, and Galak-Z and Broforce look very fun.

And we’re really talking about how great the Xbox One’s looks next month? I played Sherlock Holmes when it was a Plus game on the PS3. It’s boring, so I doubt a frame rate increase would help it. Lords of the Fallen wasn’t that great either (and as a metric, it holds a 69% on Gamerankings).

I feel like for some of you, it’s mostly about AAA and not quality. Because being ‘AAA’ doesn’t make you quality, which is why games like Rocket League and Helldivers and Nom Nom Galaxy are better than Knack or Killzone, yet people still clamor for those. Sometimes I wish they would give us Knack just so the people who don’t want to spend the $10 buying it on sale or used can see it’s not that great of a game even though it looks great.

Heck, even if they gave me something like Infamous: Second Son, it would be a waste for me because I’ve owned it for almost two years.

Congratulations $ony, you can add me to the list of people who will not be renewing their subscription. I’ve made the jump to Xbox One and haven’t regretted it once. I am assuming our plus money is subsidizing your failed investment in Gaikai and your joke PS Now service. Because it’s not going towards games for plus or any thought given toward customer satisfaction or retention. I never thought someone would have to switch to M$ to get better treatment as a customer. My how times have changed.

Here we go again with all the indies. Not really a big fan of how super star dust is given since we all got it free back in 2011. For the rest of these games not really interested and the games last month seem better. Persona and grid.

Much respect to indie developers but these kind of games are not for me, I’m quickly running out of love for ps plus and these nes, snes era looking games I grew up on that style of games and I moved on. Please give us something that looks like it was made this generation.

To the people who say indie games lack in story gameplay blah blah blah etc you have no taste I only discovered brothers by having ps plus such an amazing game stellar storytelling incredible controls and fantastic visuals all for a measly 50 a year that and rogue legacy are enough to make me always keep my subscription up

wow… ive had PS+ since day one… this is honestly the worst ive ever seen. Last Guy and SSHD ar 8 and 9 year old games, bottom of the barrel (couldnt even be bothered to give us Super Stardust Ultra?) Reality fighters on the Vita… its not even a game.. its a shovelware tech demo with a 54 on meta critic… its that bad. Flame Over is another shovelware vita game with a 69 on metacritic.

Cool Broforce and Galak-z, yeah thats what everyone wants on their PS4… not games like Lords of the Fallen.

I get that its not feasible to give us AAA games every month… but did Sony honestly think this months lineup was actually okay to give us? who sits there thinking… you know what the dedicated customers who give us money want? REALITY FIGHTERS!

I get the whole not giving away AAA games for free,but I for one don’t even download half of the free games simply because they don’t look,or sound like anything i’d like. I enjoyed rocket league and hardware rivals. But other then that all the ones i actually gave a shot were bad. Or maybe bads not the right word
Just weren’t for me I guess. But maybe they could throw us some older AAA titles,you know the ones that are $40-$60 on psn but like $20 at game stop preowned. Just something,the indies ain’t working. Maybe do a old title and a indie every month. People will be happy with that

  That’s the things…indies aren’t a genre. Saying all the games lately have been indie means nothing. There are indie titles in every genre from rpg to fighting to adventure to puzzle to horror. Not to mention graphics that can range from Atari to ps4. People on here use it as a way to describe a game they think is bad even without trying it, or try it without an open mind. There isn’t a guide people use when making indie games, or “how to make your game indie!!” The only thing you can know about a game that is is that it had a small, often not well known dev team, that’s it

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I’d like more retail games to be into the PS4 monthly games. I.E. when Injuste, Infamous or Styx. I’m not asking for real recent games, but there are a lot of months that I just add the games to the library and never download them at all. I’d like one ‘old’ retail game and one ‘indie’ game each month.

Galak-Z seems like a pretty nice game but with the winner of the Vote to Play getting less then 50% of the votes you cant expect alot of people to be happy. There really needs to be a system in place that if the community is that split that both go on playstation plus but that we can only add one to our account and then the other becomes inactive.

I’m usually happy with at least some of the offerings each month, and I like indies.. but this month doesn’t have anything I’m interested in playing. So many old games and not even one with modern graphics. Also, it’s been forever since PS+ offered up an RPG.

Honestly i find the amount of sub-par indie games on PSN overwhelmingly distasteful. While games like Teraria, Don’t starve, Dead nation, Super stardust. Fully deserve to be there. Games with horrendously incoherent assets like this Bro Force ‘game’ should stay for FREE on a flash game website like Newgrounds where they have always been.

Charging anything more than 2.00 buck for such games is quite bizarre. So we get that junk for free which i totally get from a business perspective. It 100% does makes me feel second rate as a paying customer.

So much for “Greatness Awaits”. It sure isn’t in any hurry to arrive for PS Plus members. As bad as February was, March looks truly awful. You did a great job of making it seem like you scrape the bottom of the barrel for the least fun games possible. So far in 2016, you’ve had one good game, Dragon Age: Origins, which I happened to already own. So 2016 is 0 for 3 in my book. Time to step it up Sony.
