Attention, PlayStation Plus members! We have another set of great PS4 games for you to enjoy, just in time for the holidays. Whether you prefer a good ol’ fashioned romp through a dungeon, or maybe a light-hearted story of adventure, we’ve got you covered with two reimaginings of classic gaming goodness.

Up first is Gauntlet: Slayer Edition on PS4. Plunge into the dungeons on your own or with friends in this action-packed RPG. Face monstrous hordes of enemies, prowl crumbling catacombs for gold, and unearth incredible weapons. All in the name of fame and fortune!

Also on offering is the critically-acclaimed first chapter in the new King’s Quest series, titled A Knight to Remember. Journey through the memories of King Graham as he recounts his adventures to become a knight of Daventry.

    I think a better strategy would be to give away the indies on ps3 and the larger titles on ps4, that way you get the stubborn old guard to migrate to ps4 and you reward early adopters. That being said, one episode of a five episode series is kind of a let down, just like drive club being a demo after already waiting for so long was a let down.

    I think a great balance was struck when titles like first light and metal gear ground zeroes were included. High quality spin offs or side stories. You can easily satisfy your customers with high quality first party remasters too. Some ideas for the future: wolfenstein the old blood, and knack before the world forgets that it exists.

    OMG More indie garbage when will this end? Unless you give us a good black Friday ps plus renewal price. I will not renew my subscription. Why should I for more of this nonsense month after month.

    These games are garbage…crap games.who ever comes up with these games should be fired..You want people to come to PlayStation from xbox..offer something everyone wants to play.

    I am a touch disappointed, as I’m finally getting a PS4 later in the month. That’s a good chunk of change and solid PS Plus offering would have really upped the immediate appeal. Nothing really BAD, I’ve been really wanting to try both Gauntlet and King’s Quest, but with so many new Playstation owners coming in at the end of the month, many thousands of which buying into Plus, the selection seems lacking for a showpiece offering.

    As stated by others, Sony has games like Knack, Killzone Shadowfall, and even The Order: 1886 which are no longer “top tier titles” which would be much more impressive titles to kick off a PS4 collection. And that’s not even addressing 3rd Party offerings.

    Maybe Sony will have a solid showing in January as people who got the PS Plus trial around Christmas have incentive to rejoin…

    Only offering the First Chapter of any game, and not the complete experience for a PS Plus game of the month was a poor decision. In my opinion it is the equivalent of giving us a demo of a game. I’ve no problem with any of the other titles as they are complete versions of games, even if they are games I may not ever play or games I already own they are in fact complete games and not demos. Please don’t make the same mistake again. Thanks.

    Alright time for me to finally add my 2 cents. Don’t get me wrong, had my ps4 since 6 months after it came out. Have enjoyed my instant game collection as it’s given me quite a few games I would never have even given a second thought. Lately though it’s been complete crap. I’ve decided I’m no longer buying any digital games from ps4 as every time I do it comes out free either the following month or soon after, most recently magicka 2 and now even gauntlet. Honestly don’t even care to get a triple A game, just tired of getting stuff freeive already paid for during a sale. Rule of thumb? Don’t buy it if it’s on sale, it’ll be free soon.

    Simply brilliant! My guess is that Sony chose the IGC really cleverly. They did this with Injustice on January I think. Quite a few subscriptions are probably ending around that period next year, so they’ll have “amazing” IGC(relatively speaking for the people currently dissatisfied with this month’s content), offering an “AAA” game for PS4. Next thing you know, subscriptions renewed for one more year!

    Awesome!!! Was wanting to buy King’s Quest, and Freedom Wars is a great VITA game I never got to try either. SSX on PS3 is badass, glad more people get to play it, love that series and the graphics are great on that game! Oh and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon too?!?! Love Far Cry, never bought that game though!! :) Even Gauntlet might be great to play, coop is perfect for PS PLUS!!!

    Excited for Gauntlet but King’s Quest doesn’t interest me since. I haven’t played Blood Dragon or SSX. I bought Freedom Wars day 1 and need to get back to it but my Vita backlog is pretty big. Rocket birds seems pretty good too. Overall minus the partial King’s Quest game it’s a pretty good lineup for me.

    I think I know what is going on. With PS3, Xbox 360 had the edge, so Sony was doing everything in their power to sell PS Plus and had the free AAA games to attract gamers to the Sony brand and Plus. Now that PS4 has the edge over One and leaves One in the dust in sales, Sony decided that they no longer need to attract gamers to their side and decided to sit on the sidelines for now. What are you going to do, get a One that is not as good as PS4? Bottom line is that everyone in this blog (including me) will stay with PS4. Sony knows this, no need to woo us anymore.

    Now this lineup for PS4 is the best I seen in a while. 2 games I have been wanting and 2 games that are worth having for those classically trained in text based and arcade games. The rest of the lineup is no interest even tho I will tag them for my library.

    Good lineup but when are we going to see the bigger titles on PS4? Freedom wars came out last year and is now a ps plus title yet the PS4 launch titles have been absent from the lineups. Killzone, Knack, Infamous Second Son, even Little Big Planet 3 should have shown up on plus by now but we are still getting the smaller games. Maybe one day, we can only hope.

    @ksmooches for the Xbox one releases, Van Helsing is being offered free the day of release. It was not free over the summer on the 360, it’s not out yet. Thief was free over the summer on 360 though.

    Luckily, my console came with a free ps+ subscription because I’d never pay for that. Had high hopes for December and we get this. So, ps3 gets mass effect last month and now far cry. This is a joke. “Comments are the lifeblood of the PlayStation.Blog”, yeah, I really doubt that, otherwise certain people would take note and change things. Maybe next month we’ll get an indie version of pac-man. Whoever picks the games should get fired.

    Bought and never played Rocketbirds yet, so that’s a wasted $10. Own Freedom Wars too, at least I played that one though.

    Good month for Vita…IF I didn’t already buy these games. We need to be allowed to vote on games or select from a pool because I only subscribe to PS+ for Vita games and I got trash last month (and most months this year) and nothing this month. Get your act together, Sony, I’m not alone in complaining.

    To anybody who will dispute my stances: I don’t care what you say, as a consumer I have a right to voice my complaints, and you don’t need t point out the obvious that I don’t need to subscribe, but I already did, thus the complaints.

    Niiiiiiiiiice, I LOVE the selection this month!

    The PS3 games are also nice with SSX, but I don’t think I’m gonna plug it back just for one game. The PS4 lineup is already really great!

    What a load of old tripe… I bought a PS4 in September 2015, and I am yet to see a worth while game from Playstation plus.

    Kings Quest part one is a good game, but it’s nothing more than a demo which I bought months ago on PC.

      Well, you missed out on A LOT of ps plus games this year then. So much, that I doubt they will offer them again and at this point, they have offered nearly all AAA games on both gens.

    I normally defend the choices for ps+ as I’ve gotten some great games from it even when others criticized. But this is just bad.

    Personally, I only owned a PS3. This month’s free games really sucked ass… I personally dislike sport games (SSX) 2nd, srsly ? Blood Dragon? That’s one of the worst DLC game ever in a Far Cry genre.

    All I hope now is for a good discount, otherwise I would just continue playing Basara 4 Sumeragi & Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky. Atleast a better game than Blood Dragon.

    Giving only one chapter of a game is pretty disappointing. Besides, only two games for the PS4 don’t justify the price of the service.

    People, PS Plus is $4 a month. You not being subscribed for a couple of months just because you don’t like the lineup is doing nothing for you but making you lose out on games you could be enjoying. Just because you have not heard about the game, doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy it. Also, I think it’s stupid for people to complain about the lineup when you have to judge the whole year and decide whether it was a good year. I got Dishonored, Batman, Crysis 3, Prototype 2, etc. You know, the ps3 isn’t outdated yet…

    I’ll admit that most of the games are as mediocre as always, but Freedom Wars looks good enough that I’ll finally be using the Playstation Plus 1 yr membership card I bought back in August.

    I got it but was waiting for a game I found interesting to come out before using it. Hopefully more good games come out on PS+ next year, but chances are next time I’ll just buy a regular PSN card and get more use out of it instead of having to wait almost half a year.

    Still, Freedom Wars does seem really nice, so thanks for pulling through Sony.

    What the hell Sony, this year was a “free game line up” rip off, couldn’t there be any way for us to end the year with the sole thing we ps plus users yearn for? An AAA TITLE?
    It’s OK to have the crappie indie games once in a while but I seriously think that “leave a feedback comment before leaving, let us know what you think” it’s a lie and well I think these games such, and the whole year we downloaded sucking bs. Consider that we are your clients, and the funniest thing is that you give away only one chapter of the story (both on Nov and Dec) , come on! This is getting ridiculous, maybe you’ll wake up when we all become Xbox users, cause the way things are going it’s clean to say you care **** about your costumers.
    We want AAA TITLE, NOT HALF GAME INDIE COMPANY MATERIAL, hear us out at least once!

    I don’t understand all the complaints. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Freedom Wars, Gauntlet, King’s Quest, & SSX are all great, well-known, & appreciated games. I don’t know anything about Rocketbirds, but one odd title out of six is pretty damn good.

    My only disappointment is that I already own all of them except for Rocketbirds (3 via PC and the other two on PS3/Vita). The ones I own are all well worth the money, and a great bonus for Plus members.

    People should be a lot more appreciative of what they are getting here. I can clearly see the value in it even without getting any value out of it personally. If you already own them like me, it doesn’t make this a bad lineup. It just makes you unlucky. I think it’s a great lineup and hope they continue putting great games like these on Plus in the future.

      One thing u yet have to realize is not everyone own all 3 consoles. I own only ps4. PS3 is old gen and pa vita I personally consider as for kids <18

    I’m not complaining about the lineup overall, but to put in Episode 1 of Kings Quest into the IGC is super lame. This kind of thing is already being done regularly with the Telltale Games series, this simply isn’t justified here. I don’t expect Sony to fill each month’s lineup chock-full of AAA titles, but we should not be getting 1/5 of a game in the IGC. AAA or indie, they should be FULL games.

    I guess if you bought everything here this would be a bad December line up but I’ve been wanting to play Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon for awhile but just didn’t want to spend anything on it, so SCORE! Gauntlet I was waiting to drop in price, and free is a great price, SCORE AGAIN!! I don’t own a PS Vita so those games are always a wasted slot for me, perhaps you can have PS plus members have a part of their profile which asks what systems they own and so we can get a 6 game lineup for systems we actually own and not get shafted on 2 spots so that cry baby kids with handhelds can get a game. Besides that, the only complaint I have for this line up is King’s Quest because come on, Sierra Games wants to come back out and to do so they pick that game? Over Police Quest? or even Space Quest? I mean come on those were the games that people were playing, nobody gave a darn about King’s Quest and I get the ploy here, give them ONE episode and they’ll buy the rest….no….no we won’t. How about if you survive the losses of making this game, you go out and make a new Police Quest game and not episode garbage games but an actual full game. Guarantee you it’ll will fly off the shelves. You can thank me later for the tip.

    When I saw Farcry, I was like oh ****…… Then I noticed it was 3. Currently looking at Farcry 4 that’s going for less than 20$.

    This month is lackluster. I expected more for Christmas but at least King’s Quest looks like fun. I won’t be getting further episodes however, same with Walking Dead from November.

    Hi everyone. I just wanted to say, wow what a disappointing lineup of free games on offer for December of 2015. These games target such a minor part of gamers, most people (including me) won’t find ANY of these games interesting. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against indie games; in fact I liked previously-free indie games like Outlast, Transistor, Counterspy, Never Alone, Ether One, Unfinished Swan, Rocket League, and even Teslagrad. But this kind of releases for PS4, and other non-popular releases (why Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon?!) for other platforms isn’t going to help anyone. I can imagine people buying/extending their PS Plus subscriptions if this month’s game is very much worth it because it shows that Sony releases very desirable games. I extended mine for a year and haven’t gotten a very enjoyable game in the past 3 months or so… Do yourself a favour and take care of the customers first because when you do, the business will look after itself. Don’t try to rip off PS Plus subscribers because we pay a decent amount of money and we expect good out of it.

    I mean really, King’s Quest & Gauntlet? Really? Is that the best you can do, Sony?

    49.99 its too expensive, 29.99 price need to return and more with current lineup of PS+

    2 years ago, it was a nice deal at black friday for PS+ since then the price never lowers, and what its worse its that the plus “free” games are not good at least this year its even worse on ps4. Im hopeful that this black friday amazon and sony do the right thing and lower the price.

    Xbox on other hand its improving their gold service with better games and better deals you can always find deals for 35 for 12 month suscription.

    Another option its the elimination of PS+ for online multiplayer…. i play destiny and its crippled if i dont have PS+ mine its gonna expire next month and at current state i dont want to renew it.

    My PS3 brokes and sure vita its great this month but most of the good games its not available for PS4 what about if you start working on backward compatibility so maybe that improve a little the lacklust catalog of “free” games for “PS4”

    This sucks, stop forcing people to get ps plus to play online, the games aren’t worth it anymore. Used to be good value back when it started, now most of the games are crap
