Attention, PlayStation Plus members! We have another set of great PS4 games for you to enjoy, just in time for the holidays. Whether you prefer a good ol’ fashioned romp through a dungeon, or maybe a light-hearted story of adventure, we’ve got you covered with two reimaginings of classic gaming goodness.

Up first is Gauntlet: Slayer Edition on PS4. Plunge into the dungeons on your own or with friends in this action-packed RPG. Face monstrous hordes of enemies, prowl crumbling catacombs for gold, and unearth incredible weapons. All in the name of fame and fortune!

Also on offering is the critically-acclaimed first chapter in the new King’s Quest series, titled A Knight to Remember. Journey through the memories of King Graham as he recounts his adventures to become a knight of Daventry.

    Isn’t giving away only the first chapter of King’s Quest kind of a cop out? It’s like giving away the first chapter of Walking Dead or Game of Thrones for free, which they often are. It’s essentially a demo to get people to buy the season pass for the rest of the game. This just feels cheap.

    Wow amazing month…Freedom Wars damn thats awesome,was a bit in doubt about it and looking forward to try King’s Quest too.

    BTW…Blood Dragon,SSX and Rocketbirds…who never played them are in for a treat.

    There is no way to complain about the PS3 and Vita lineup this month y’all whiners.

      so our opinions are considered whining to you… ha.

      We can simply reply to that by saying you have poor taste in games and will play tetris on the PS5 and totally overreact to it.
      It’s not the games that are the causing the “whining”, it’s the LACK of AAA games..old titles on PS3 such as Mirror’s Edge could easily be on this, Max Payne, Dead Island, LBP1/2, Street Fighter IV to hype Street Fighter V… as for PS4, The Order 1886 – not a word mentioned lately, Knack, Killzone(even though I own it, it would be awesome to revive Multiplayer)

    Well, i think I´m getting used to be dissapointed about your Free Games, but THIS selection (above all your horrendus choices) is the MOST dissapointing of them all… Xbox may not have sale even half of the consoles you did, but has given greater games in their games whit gold deal…

    I really hope you guys step up your game (pun intended) and give your woderful community what we desserve.

      Ok man, that is true, but keep in mind that publishers and developers will ask for WAY more money to sony for it to be free on psplus since the user base is bigger.

    Pretty cool month for everyone else XD Literally only really looking forward to Freedom Wars lol I might give Gauntlet a try everything else I either already own or don’t really care XD Oh well can’t have great months every month

    Microsoft is giving five games that are playable on One in December. One of those games is an extra game as a Christmas thank you. We, PS4 owners get one whole game and a fraction of a second game.

    Yet another month of crap games, getting sick of garbage month after month, perhaps time to get rid of the uninspiring, unoriginal, happy to push remakes instead of coming up with quality titles PS4, a console that wants you to pay to rent or pay to purchase games you already own, just for the pleasure of running them on its latest overpriced under specced hardware. Sony used to have its eye on the ball but now the disdain it has for its customers is clearly shown in the God awful PS+ offerings each month, the many many overpriced HD remakes designed to tap into your nostalgia while only adding a few sparkles and its blatant attempts to get its customer base to pay multiple times for games they already own.

    Amazing month.

    Already have Far Cry BD…..still a great PS+ offer.

    Sold Freedom Wars….can’t wait to play it again.

    Guantlet..tons of Co Op fun…loved the old on on my Sega Genesis.

    King Quest…one ep…all of the other games are full experience. DLC is most case is optional…here I would need to buy every episode to get a full experience. Episode 1 should be free on PSN regardless….Telltale games, Resident Evil Rev 2 have already have ep 1 free.

    Last month…Walking Dead S2 was a FULL experience…not some cropped episodes.

    Rocketbirds…always wanted to play this….so looking forward to it bar the COOP trophy.

    SSX….heard it is fun. Will play but not too much of it.

    Not bad at all. I have freedom wars and blood dragon which I’d recommend to others easily. I want to play kings quest but I was waiting for it all to be released. This changes things a bit. Kind of awkward getting half a game. But whatever was looking forward to it.

    YES!!!!!!!!!! I love Gauntlet! That was one of my favorite games as a kid. I can remember Dumping quarter after quarter into the arcade machine just to play this game.

    This is my feedback, Guantlet is a good choice, I was actually defending the lineup… and then I noticed that Kings Quest is only THE FIRST CHAPTER!! Are you mad? Why don’t give any other game, Natural Doctrine comes to mind, or any other game I don’t care, but giving only a First Chapter, which by the way usually first chapters go for free after a while, This was a very bad move, also where is the Vote to play, there is no way to defend you from this.

    Pretty good month. Having all three platforms, I’ll have a lot on my plate. Especially looking forward to Freedom Wars, Blood Dragon, and Gauntlet. It will be cool to play SSX again, too, and the other games don’t look too bad for free, either.

    Nice games for PS3, decent games for Vita, absolute crap for PS4 though.

    Seriously, Chapter 1 only of a game series? Who the hell thought THAT was a good idea at Sony? Plus just continues to keep going downhill in value here. Used to be much much better on the PS3 after that first year it was out. Hell, even during that first year it was better than what Plus has been lately in many ways.

    And Gauntlet, really, that utterly broken and hated piece of crap game is the only other one for Plus?

    It’s December for christ sake Sony, even MS did something special for GWG for December, for the holidays. You guys are just getting WAY too cocky and not caring about your fans in general.

    Wouldn’t be the IGC without foisting off yet another indie game that anyone who wanted it would have purchased four years ago.

    That said, this is still one of the better months for PS+ in 2015.

    Why have you already given up on the Vita, Sony? You released the most powerful handheld gaming console in human history, and just because you couldn’t keep the PSP secure, you’re barely throwing anything behind the Vita.

    I know the Vita is powerful enough to process PS2 games, if you really wanted to provide your customers with something fantastic. The PS2 is the number-one selling console of all time. I would snap up at LEAST twenty or thirty PS2 games if you made it possible to play them on my Vita.

    Another pathetic month for Plus. Not to mention I already own the PS4 selections. Give us AAA retail games again! December Xbox Games with Gold wipes the floor with this!! One brand new game (Van Helsing) and THREE retail games (Thief, Sacred 3, Operation Flashpoint.) Extremely disappointed in Plus for a long time now, Sony.

    Absolutely thrilled that Freedom Wars is part of the lineup, was planning on picking it up anyway on Black Friday but this is much better. Gauntlet looks pretty cool and wanted to play King’s Quest too. I always find something every month to play on PS+, I know there are some people that knock indie games but there really are some hidden gems :)

    Love the Vita games especially (hinting for some games for the future…Tearaway and Danganronpa)

    A episode of a episodic series is probably a new low in PS+ offerings. Most episodic games give episode 1 for free for everyone anyway, for it to be a plus marquee exclusive is sad.

    That being said Gauntlet and Freedom Wars are nice offerings.

    I will wait Uncharted 4 and if the PS+ is not better at this moment, I will sold my PS4 and buy a X-One. The GWG is better, there are the EA Access too and the backward comptability. Sorry Sony, you deceived me.

    It’s kind of disappointing for December. I mean 1 chapter of King’s Quest, that doesn’t even count as a full game. We are suppose to get 2 free games a month, and that isn’t even a complete game. I would’ve rather had the complete edition. A AAA title would’ve been nice too for the holidays.

    Already have Blood Dragon and it’s fun and I’m definitely downloading Gauntlet miss playing maybe I’ll download SSX but come on Sony we gotta get AAA games next month

    After reading about the games on offer in December at Gamespot.com, I felt compelled to post here and let Sony know how I feel about it. This is the lousiest collection of games you have ever offered. I keep my Ps Plus paid every three months and for what? This trash? I thought you might offer something better considering the 2 year anniversary or even because its Christmas but no. You lay a trash title like Gauntlets on us and follow with the first episode of Kings Quest. Thanks alot. I thought you guys would start offering better and better titles but they are getting worse. I wont be renewing my subcription next month. I dont play online so if I cannot get my moneys worth through the Plus program, then I am done. Thanks for giving your fans the finger, Sony. Take a bow.

    If we get chapter 1 of King’s Quest doesn’t that lock us out of being able to get the Epilogue from the Complete Collection? I’d definitely like to try it, but if that means I’m not going to be able to get the full experience I’ll be peeved.

    Thats more than unfair..
    I pay 50 Euros to play online in the year and expect only 1 AAA a title but Sony is offering us Indie crap if you compare the XBOX with the PS membership you will see that XBOX offers better games.. i am sure that Sony has more many than Microsoft but why is Sony so parsimonious

      Blood Dragon was not AAA, it was a stand alone expansion from FC3 and I’m not sure you can classify ANY game on the Vita as AAA these days. So that leaves SSX, while a fun 3 year old game, it’s also often on sale for less than $10. I know I picked up a copy on a PSN sale a while back.

      I hate Sony, but a deal is a deal. $10 for 3 months. You could not only choose when to renew, but only 3 month periods.

      And at $40 for the year, if you time it well, it could be beneficial if you need it.

    Fantastic lineup. While I own most of these already, they’re all really solid titles. Rocketbirds on Vita especially was a great but overlooked game. Blood Dragon is one of my favorite games on the PS3. And I can’t wait to try the new Kings Quest.

    Gauntlet is a fun game, but it’s only $20 new (I already have it), and what’ s this about “Chapter 1” of King’s Quest? Sounds like something they’d give away for free without you asking. This is a terribly scrooge-like lineup for PS4 users. Bah humbug!

    What dismal offering – another month where there isn’t a single title that I’d bother wasting my bandwidth on. Last game I downloaded was tomb raider. I really thought there would be at least on triple A game for x-mas, even for no other reason than to thank the customers for pushing Sony into the 30 million mark.

    For PS4 only 1 game not even an AAA game (King’s Quest isnt even full game) this year only 2 good game for ps4 InFamous: First Light and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes not enough for a subscription.Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is the only thing that make me happy this month. Im happy with PS+ only for the discount on games .

    Unfortunately this is another horrific line up, sure, I’ll “add them to my library” just to get my money’s worth but the chance of me actually playing them is slim… disappointed. also disappointed with the removed “vote” system in the comments for Sony to see our genuine distaste in the selection, it’s December, what happened to a happy holiday PS+ Month… (lost a member until something decent crops up)

    It’d be nice to receive a nice, good retail title instead of the mostly unremarkable indie games we get every month. Stuff like the Walking Dead s2 is good, but the stuff above is really meh.

    Man I don’t like to be a complainer, but PS+ has just gotten worse and worse. It’s like you’re scraping the bottom of the barrel. I’ve had PS+ for four years now, and we used to get AAA games, and GOOD ones. Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 1 & 2, Tomb Raider, Spec Ops: The Line. Now…just utter garbage. Hell, I don’t play games online much at all, the only reason I even keep paying for PS+ is to keep being able to access my old games. It’s just not worth it anymore.

    Blood Dragon was great. SSX was good, but not as good as I was hoping it would be. Still enjoyed it enough to get the platinum trophy on it.

    I’m most excited for Freedom Wars; glad I waited on this one. I really liked the original and the remakes of Gauntlet, I’m looking forward to trying the newest version (though I’ve not heard many good things).
