PS Plus: Free Games for November 2015

Drama. Magic. Zombies. Magic zombies? Maybe not that last one, but we’ve got the other three in spades with our new free games coming to PlayStation Plus. So without further ado, here are your PS Plus games for November!

Leading the (zombie) pack is critically acclaimed The Walking Dead: Season Two on PS4, by the expert storytellers at Telltale Games. The second season follows Clementine in her struggle to survive a world torn apart by the undead menace. Guide her actions and influence the game’s outcome as nail-biting choices must be made to keep on living.

Also available this month is Magicka 2 on PS4. This spell-slinging action game empowers you and your friends with the elements to defeat your enemies (or sabotage those same friends). Hysterics may ensue, which might be a welcome break after all those zombies…

These PS4 games are free for PlayStation Plus members starting on the first Tuesday of November, and you can find the full list of PlayStation Plus games below. Enjoy!

I like the line up. I see a lot of comments from people supporting the inclusion of Mass Effect 2 but indicating that so many people already have it. There are decent amount of people like myself that haven’t played it, so I am excited to see it listed. I have read a lot about the story line, so this takes away my excuse not to give it a try. :)

I see a shocking lack of “There’s some good games here!” Mass Effect and walking dead are incredible. And actually some of the last few indie games have been really good if people would give them a chance. Broken Age and Grow Home come to mind. People just like complaining.

Not an awful month, not like the past 6 or so. It’s not great but not awful.

Season 2 is a little weird, followed by Magicka 2(so if you’ve played the first games, you’re ok). Mass effect 2 is a game I’ve been considering getting on console, not played beyond good and evil but heard good things. Vita games are whatever, I have a vita but it’s a binding of Isaac and worms machine to me, have a few other games but nothing ever that exciting comes out on it.

Very cool – was looking to play Magicka 2!!!. I’ll be to busy with Tales (Ps4) and later Sword Art Online 2 (vita) to play it this month, but good to have on reserve!!

I don’t like this at all. I feel like PS4 owners get shafted most monthes with PS+. Don’t get me wrong, Walking Dead Season 2 is an outstanding game, but I already own it. I went and spent good money on the Telltale Games collection. For me, this is worthless. It ends up being like this most monthes, or we will get some indie games I have absolutely no interest in. I think you should give us a choice every month where we can pick 2 out of a selection of maybe 4 games. That would help a lot.

  While I understand some of your point, I also see nothing coming from your comment but entitlement for games that you already own. While the choice option could be a good idea, PS Plus would just burn through games that much quicker and not offer them again. If you feel that a game may be on PS Plus soon then just don’t buy games if you’re going to cry about. The other option for you is to simply let your PS Plus subscription lapse. I have had many games that became free but what do you think would happen when they offer AAA games. Also if you want to talk about choice, Games for Gold, since you own an XBox, offers two games while Playstation offers six. But you don’t get a choice though.

  Letting my subscription lapse is NOT an option anymore. You have to have it just like you do Live Gold. There is no entitlement here. Something was promised for subscribing to a service. I signed up under that sole premise years ago. Now its mandatory. If I have to pay for something, and something was promised, just give an option. Thats all I’m saying. Otherwise its basically a wasted month for me after waiting so long to see what the games were.

  At no point did Sony promise you or anyone else promise you that you will get free games that you don’t own already. I am getting rather irritated with quite a few people on this forum complaining about the subjective “quality” of games that are free from PS Plus. At this point, Playstation should change the name from PS Plus to PS Online so people quit whining about what games they’re not getting. And before someone states that they are just providing “feedback” I’m certain that Playstation meant constructive feedback. You not liking the games or you not liking indies is not constructive what so ever. It is absolute entitlement when Playstation has to cater to you.

  I am not the biggest fan of indie games but I understand why Playstation makes them free since it is a win win for both the developer and Playstation. The developer gets their game out their without people avoiding since it is an indie and Playstation exposes the low cost game and fills a billet through PS Plus. Even with this, I don’t go on this forum and state that “Indies are stupid and PS Plus needs AAA games that I don’t own.” Every month, it is the same entitled gripes about what another region is getting as far as games go and what we’re getting instead. Grow up! We get many other perks with PS Plus without having to constantly complain about what games we are not getting. Possibly in the future the majority of this community will grow up and understand they won’t get everything they want but who am I kidding. Next month, it will be the same song and dance with people comparing what games other regions are getting or what AAA games they need instead of indie games or how they own majority of the games on the line up that they own already. Spoiled gamers in 2015 I guess!

  I absolutely love how you choose to argue. You warp things that are said to fit your argument. I never said anything about Sony promising a “choice”. I said they promised free games. Thats the reason I signed up BEFORE it was mandatory. Now I don’t have a choice if I wish to play online. Read things as they’re written. I’m pretty straight forward. There is nothing between the lines in what I’ve said. You argue like a politician. Having a choice in the games received seems like a pretty small thing to ask. I’m not saying give us games like Fallout 4 or any new AAA game. Thats ridiculous. They allowed a vote just recently on the main PS4 game given for PS+. The same could be done on a smaller scale every month for each user. Its not a difficult concept. It would most certainly lower the frequency of this kind of thing happening. Its so awesome spending money on a game and then having it offered to you for free. YAY ME!

  My intention is not to “warp” words for my argument. Like I said originally, I understand some of your point but you are still receiving free games even if you already own them. The entitlement stance still stands as you would like the “option” of picking a choice for games since some people own some of these games already. The option that was created a few months ago was only applied to games that were not on the PS Store yet and what makes you think that the other two games that were options will ever be free. Additionally, the populace voted for which game was chosen. You didn’t get to choose that game that you got for free. I’m just irritated with the overall entitlement or compensation people want when the PS lineup comes out and people want something instead of the free game everyone else can get. Not trying to change minds here because most people here think they deserve it because they paid for PS Plus.

  Also just for clarification, this isn’t an attack on you personally it just amazes me how people expect all these great games from this service. I would just like people to look at the overall value they are getting including cloud storage, various discounts, online play, six games each month, along with various other perks such as betas. I really feel that Playstation may end this service soon and people will either get only two games or get no games. Either way, everyone here probably would have to pay $50 for the PS Online service.

  Well online being free is just a past luxury that is no longer to be. Like you stated earlier, you need PS Plus in order to play online so you would pay regardless I’m assuming even if there were free games or not. I will agree that PS Plus has shifted since its inception but I can tell when I first signed up there weren’t six free games that I received every month. Some of the games that I was able to download were even PSOne classics on my PS3. Sony shift came as Internet infrastructures grew and now that growth has players pay for online playability. Very similar to how cell phone companies had unlimited data because they didn’t care about it as much and it only capped the amount of minutes you were able to talk on the phone per your plan. Now carriers no longer care about the minutes as much and care more about the data being utilized. Playing for online playability for consoles at this point will more than likely not go away and I’m certain that people will still pay the fee regardless of them getting free games or not.

Typical Sony BS!!! Not had a good game since “abes oddysee” remake IMO. why didn’t we get resident evil remake for October? or assassins creed black flag its so old now anyway! Come on sony!!!!! Xbox users get fallout 3 just for pre-ordering fallout 4 Sony just grinds out indie game after indie game. Still not totally forgiven them for all the ps3 store games I purchased monkey island remakes and worms and gta4 digital copy that I can no longer play on my ps4! You may be out selling xbox but doesn’t mean your the fairer company! Lastly thanks for the eject disk fault too you suck :P

The lineup is ok at best. Give more AAA titles like you used to back in the ps3 era, now those were the days. Now we only get one good game every so often, but since the ps4 launched most months have been dissapointing.

Maybe I’ll play Beyond Good and Evil and I played ME2 before on Xbox but I’ll play it again but I wish wolfenstein the new order or battlefield was on this month’s list but i got fallout 4 to keep me occupied this month not really a fan of story telling games like TWD or a top down game like Magika I hope a TPS or a FPS will release next month on ps+ but yea ps3 games this month is for me

  Sony is clearly focusing on the PS4 since this new PS+ model(online multiplayer) is more profitable. They want to appeal to a larger audience(bigger income). Listening to the fans is a PR gimmick. Also you can see the trend by this PS+ article only focusing on PS4 games, and The Drop entry usually following the same pattern, even if games are coming out on PS3 or Vita.

I’m probably just going to add them to the library like I have been doing too much lately. I thought that PlayStation was holding out to surprise us with something big like battlefield hardline or another AAA title as it was the ps4 anniversary. But I am open to speculation. I may like magica 2

Okay, I find all of this complaining baffling. If you only subscribe to PS+ for the free games (for me it’s about the PS Store price discounts) then you have to accept that, A) there will be games offered that you already own, and B) there will be games or genres that you don’t like. Many of you have said that Sony should offer optional game choices for those that already own the games offered, but what if you own those, too? And if you do already own the the games offered, good for you, that means they had enough value to purchase. Some of you complain about Indie titles, and I don’t get that. If you discount Indie games just because they are Indie, and won’t even try them, you are really missing out. Many Indie titles offer more fun, better gameplay, and more creativity than a lot of so-called AAA retail releases. Through PS+ I now have 58 games ready to play when I get a PS4, let alone the ones I got for my PS3 and my Vita. Without Sony and PS+ I would be having a lot less gaming fun.

  I did that before I bought my PS4. As long as you buy them at the store’s website, you can download them to the ps4 at any point in time. I had over twenty games, when I bought my ps4 earlier this year. It was amazing to boot it up and have so many to choose from. Stick it to the Man and Rogue legacy have been my two favorites. Rogue Legacy, man. I lost so many hours of my life to it. That game is in my top five favorites of all time.
  
  PS4 has only been out for two years. I don’t expect AAA games that often. Besides, some of my favorite games have been the indies. I’m a cheap gamer, so I usually wait until the game goes on sale. By waiting, I learned that if an indie game gets good reviews, most likely, it will appear on plus a couple months later. I’ve gotten every indie game I wanted through plus, that way. Every single one!
  
  I would like Black Flag, but I’m wondering if Microsoft has some sort of deal going on for that series, because they release Assassin’s Creed games pretty often on Games with Gold. I’m sure there’s a maze of PR work that the plus department has to work through. I’d love an article on the process of getting a game on plus. I’m a big enough nerd to want to know the ins and outs.

What’s with all the hate here? Ps plus is for playing online gaming on ps4. We won’t get super great titles until the library has built up a little. Ps3 getting mass effect with is the exact game i wanted since i never got around playing them on ps3 b4. Vita is not too great but yea thats really is sonys fault. The main reason is the memory card price. I would have bought so many more games if the prices went down to micro sd card prices.. Buy a 30 dollar game and a hundred dollar card.. No thanks. That’s the main reason vita isn’t doing well although its a wonderful system. I own 2 vitas, pstv, 2 ps3s and a ps4. SONY needs to make vita work with multiple user accounts and cheaper memory cards and maybe we’ll see developers come back and not some nintendo esque crap all the time. Pstv is a good idea but i swear i never use it since no netflix, youtube app, and most games that should work just don’t……. I only use remote play for it. As far as ps plus I’ve gotten resogun, prototype, towerfall, tomb raider, prototype 2, just cause 2. Some good games i missed last gen and played the crap outta them when they became available on plus. Sony… Holla at me if you want to get vita right lol

Once a free PS+ game is “purchased” it remains in your list permanently, regardless of whether you own the system. As long as I have a subscription they will be there for me. I know this because if I look any of them up in the PS Store they say “Download to your PS4”.

  Quite right. I also am without a PS4, and I’ve been “purchasing” all the PS4 Plus freebies each month just in case. So bizarre too that so many believe actual downloading makes a difference. I mean, it’s understandable that people believe this. But the word just doesn’t seem to get out. Probably something to do with glad hearts among corporate execs that people are buying giant hard drives to download everything at once. They could just play a few games at a time, and then delete them as they go.
  
  As to your earlier points, I’m inclined to agree that some people expect too much. They seem to believe the “free” games should all be ones they don’t already own, etc. But many of these comments are lumped together with similar ones made by those who are simply stating facts about how this month’s lineup impacts them. Regardless, I think all comments (positive or negative) on the actual games provide the “feedback” being asked for. The least useful are the “this lineup sucks!/is great!” comments that provide no details about the person’s reason for commenting.

Wow. Playstation gives away 72 games a year for a $50 subscription and all anyone can do is wine about it? I enjoyed the October lineup. Why? Because it was free (virtually). You want a brand new game, go out and buy it and shut up.

This is another month of lame-ish games that do not appeal to me. I just bought and played The Walking Dead Season 2 over a month ago and now it’s free…not a game with much replay value. Owning both a PS4 and PS3, this line up IMO is weak and I feel like I’m not getting the best worth out of my PSN account. I’ve been a loyal Sony player since PS1, and it kind of sucks to see Xbox One to have backwards capability now, and their online subscribers seem to get better monthly games the past few months while we have gotten some flops. The last PSN game that I enjoyed and still play is a tie between Rocket League and Sound Shapes :/

Hmmm, nothing to see here folks, just another somewhat bad somewhat decent lineup.

Mass Effect 2- i’ll definitely get it for my ps3.

Magicka 2- I strongly dislike over-the-head games like this.

TWD: season 2- Not my cup of tea, but i do like to watch it being played.

Beyond Good & Evil- Will not touch this.

Dragon Fin Soup- ALSO not a fan of this, to me it is disgusting.

Invizimals- I don’t have a PS Vita and if i did i would just get Japanese imports of all the sweet anime styled games.

Even though the list of free plus game aren’t that good and i might enjoy their Free-to-play section a LOT more, I can honestly say i didn’t get a PS4 for their free plus games and i do quite enjoy my ps4 a lot more than i did my xbone (even though my favorite game is only on xbone “Smite”. Don’t have a pc anymore so it makes me sad that the only thing i did had i ended up selling it). Anyone else looking at No Man’s Sky and Tom Clancy’s: The Division?

I think its better compare to how when the PS4 first came out and there was hardly any really fun games on it at the time. Plus I think its good to see Sony trying to get people to play some of the lost games. The only thing I dont like is the Vita selection that they put out this month. But other then that I see this months game line ups not to bad. At least Its not like the lame ling-ups they had when the PS4 first came out.

I only wish that you guys at Sony would give us better games. I appreciate most of the titles but come on, you guys have a HUGE library of games that many of us want to see in PS+ like Shadow of Mordor, Assassin’s Creed IV and many others. Why these? Though with Walking Dead Season 2, what about Season 1?

I don’t understand all these people complaining about PS Plus. Even if you only get two games a year that you love, it’s worth it. Sure, most of them are indies, but when you’ve got indies like Rocket League, Limbo, and Transistor, who are you to complain? Limbo, Transistor, Rocket League, Broken Age, Valiant Hearts, Rogue Legacy, these are some of the most highly rated games for PS4. Period. Quiet your sass.

Well I play online, its still better than Xbox for me. I’ll play mass effect again, and walking dead. Majika is a new one for me. People have been telling me to play Beyond good n evil for years. So now I can. But I will not look at this as a hate thread. There are children using this. But come on Sony.

People complaining about this indie BS. I guess Mass Effect 2 is an indie game. Yes, We are getting lots of indie games but look at how much we pay a month…. $4.16 well Magicka 2 and Dragon Fin Soup is $33 if you were to buy them at regular price. Microsoft gets better stuff well seeing for October XBOX One got 2 games only and 1 we already got months prior and we got both versions PS3 and PS4 and in total we got 3 games that are also cross buy. If SONY did offer AAA titles on the PS4 they would be Knack, Killzone, or Assassin’s Creed IV and people would be like XBOX already got those games or complain that they are old games and everybody already owns them. Just deal with what you get and if you don’t like it don’t complain about it and do something about it. Call these companies up are petition their sites and demand their games come to PS+ because it isn’t up to SONY, it’s up to the companies if they want to put the games out for free.

  I think that you are right, but I think we can make some suggestions not in a bad way obviously, but just to see if the companies can get talking with each other to change there minds about free titles on ps3 and move to ps4 for the titles that everyone is talking about.
  
  I think that if they do start to change over ( which will happen eventually) the people who don’t appreciate how much PlayStation is working on it, and will still argue that they didn’t get the exact one they wanted, but because of TWDS2 coming and and Magica 2 as well I can see the difference in how we are finally converting from AAA titles on ps3 to 4. Since the companies games are getting older after the two years that they have been out for.

Microsoft charge you 15 bucks a month for just Online Multiplayer. Playstation character you 15 bucks a month for Multiplayer and free games and discounts and multitudes of other freebies, perks, and betas. Microsoft starts giving free games to copy Playstation. Playstation bad guy company because doesn’t give EXACT games you want at the time instead giving REALLY GOOD indie games, Microsoft good guy for giving out 6 year old AAA games everybody already beat 100 times.

If Walking Dead Season 2 is cross-buy as Season 1 was, I’ll be good for a while. Played Season 1 on Vita and it worked well enough to keep me busy for a while.

I fully expect at least three games a month once the PS3 or Vita are dropped from the IGC line-up. Four if they continue focusing on indies, as they likely will.

Excited for good and evil, but season 2 of a niche fane like twd, not so much. For awhile I was excited about the free games but their quality seems to be diminishing.

I own a vita and i can’t wait they give me something worth my 200 bucks… getting really retarded with psp games n all those crappy titles. I own a ps4 and i already bought magicka 2 and walking dead isn’t really something i’m happy about. I rather have remaster AAA games from ps3 then all the crap i’ve seen so far this year. Hopefully,Sony, ur going to go big for christmas and new year to make up for all the past crappy games u’ve given away. Cheers y’all

These past 2 months for PLUS has been a joke. Why is Mass Effect 2 being offered? Why not the entire Mass Effect trilogy? Why is Beyond Good and Evil being offered on PLUS again? Why is Walking Dead Season 2 only being offered on PS4 and not PS3? Why isn’t PS4 launch titles being offered at this point of the current generation. This is embarrassing!

Hey PlayStation Plus, These games are really great this month for PS4 in my opinion. So, thank you very much for that. Since it is December though next month if we can get two AAA titles for free. This would make my world.

I was thinking of something like Assassins Creed 4, God of war 3, Thief, Dragon Age Inquisition, DMC, Little Big Planet 3, either Resident Evil games, Sniper Elite 3, Trials Fusion, Evolve, Sleeping dogs, WWE 2k15, Lords of the fallen, Payday 2 Crime wave Edition, Diablo 3.

I think that any of these games would be great to have for next months play station plus. I think we should start getting in to more triple A games for PS4 since it is already on its second year, and start to grow away from the triple A titles on PS3. Thank you if anyone from PlayStation read this. This is also Just suggestions, but really any big game would be amazing for December and then after that to start carrying on that path of Great games for PS4.
