What makes treasure hunting even more appealing? Treasure hunting with friends! Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris leads the lineup of free PS Plus games for August, which includes four games that are playable on PS4. Which games, you ask? Well, you’ve come to the right place…

Temple of Osiris follows in the footsteps of Guardian of Light, with fast-paced cooperative play, head-scratching puzzles, and glorious treasure. Traverse the dangerous environments solo, or with friends, and guide Lara on yet another supernatural adventure.

Also up for grabs is the critically-acclaimed Limbo. This haunting story has captured the hearts and minds of gamers around the globe — and has chilled a fair number of spines. If you have a fear of spiders, be prepared to cover your eyes.

If that sounds a bit too unnerving, jam out and get creative with Sound Shapes — which is also available on PS3 and PS Vita. Sound Shapes revolves around musical platforming, fantastic visuals, and a powerful level creator.

Rounding out the PS4 offering for this month is Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones, which is also available on PS3 and PS Vita.This puzzle platformer tasks you with escaping a dangerous research facility in which death is readily distributed to your hapless clones.

Also, joining the August lineup are God of War Ascension (PS3) and CastleStorm (PS3, PS Vita), ensuring that you have plenty of gaming to keep you busy this month.

These games are available to PS Plus members starting on Tuesday next week. Enjoy!

    Do you really need to have 36GB + 80GB of free space to download God of War? (I’m hoping the description is wrong)
    In that case I need to prioritize which game I need to finish to delete some data..

    Limbo is recommended, but if you try to get all the trophies, it kills some of the joy to play it. You either have to play it through many many times, or to use a walkthrough. I just played it through once (PS3), died hundreds of times, and loved the game.

      I will save you time. Don’t download it. Its not even good. I am just as pissed as you. All I wanted was the singleplayer version of it and it should be more than 15 GB let alone 35gb for an average game.

    Personally, it is hit and miss for the “free” games for me. I enjoy RPGs more than first player, also I would like to see more family friendly games than what P+ gives. My 10 year daughter doesn’t like the bloody games.

    Nice games Sony! Very satisfying! But still, those “whiners” are kinda right. Ps3 members have been geetting way better games than the Ps4. They got Thief, God of war now and are even expecting Watch Dogs! I know we got Injustice, Infamous and MGS but it’s about time Ps4 members get Garden Warfare (Gonna be a sequel and been free once why can’t it be free again?) or hell just Tomb Raider Definitive Edition. I’m not complaining about the games, they are great! But they should give us something big every 3-4 months or so. I know it’s alot to ask but it would definetly bring in more subscribers! Thank you!

      lol think sony is going to give away PvZ Garden Warfare? they cant even give us the price drop POPCAP announced back in may… game has dropped to $20 on all other platforms other than sony. don’t believe google it

    Thanks for the games great line up this month! I really like ps+, sometimes I wish there will be more than psn games, but it’s worth it for me.

    Reading the comments here makes me wonder about the long term effects that hardcore gaming might have on teenagers and young people. The virulent and bitter complaining that we see on this thread month after month seems rooted in issues like clinical depression or bi-polar disorder. I have to ask, to what end are you expressing these complaints? Do you really think that someone at Sony is going to have a lightbulb pop over their heads and suddenly offer you the new Madden, Call of Duty, and Grand Theft Auto games as part of Plus next month? This month is a solid offering with good games on all systems.

      Nobody is saying that though….. Please are asking for launch titles and are making their voices heard. If they prefer $20 games that are older vs indies that go for $10 – $15…. I don’t see how that is being bitter and complaining.

    I’m really happy about this games.
    Great gift for my b-day on August 8th.
    Wanted to get the TR since I enjoyed the first one on my iPad.
    Also wanted to try Limbo.
    Too bad gave my ps3 away would love to play GOW.
    Is the remastered version good for people who haven’t played the other GOW game?

    OMG you fail us again, I can´t believe. GOW descension was a shame. SandS I got it complete in all my systems. Limbo please! Castlestorm, Lara and Stealth for me are trash, trash and trash.

    Sorry guys I never do it before but GAMES with GOLD have more good things

    I would say not a bad line up. Looking forward for lara croft, heard good stuff about limbo but personally I hate dark games that puts me in depression. Sound shapes looks good too and always wanted to try stealth inc, but I wish I still had ps3. God of war ascension is best offer in this line up. I would love to see less puzzle games, and more action, fun, and some crazy games but not puzzle.

    Once again, you give better games to PS3. So glad I paid so much money and got forced to buy PS+ to get literally nothing worth playing to show for it.

    People complain about the game lineups and it’s like really? I don’t always enjoy every game but the discounts I get for being a member more than pay for itself! So no complaints here also this is a great month!

    People should just stop complaining about the games you get on PS plus. We get some critically acclaimed games as well as awesome AAA titles for peanuts. The value of the subscription cant be argued with. Let’s just thank Sony for this. Even Microsoft followed suit and started a similar service. All in all August is a great month for plus.     It’s pretty mediocre. I know we can’t have AAA games all the time but jeez, no love for ps4 or vita. The ps3 seems to be getting all the goods. last month we got rocket league but to be honest, that game is overrated just like limbo. Well hopefully next month we get something non indie. perhaps sleeping dogs, black flag, the last of us or infamous, those are fairly old AAA ps4 games. Also, Sony please give more support for vita if not just announce your next handheld already, Vita is dead. it’s corpse is infested by indies and jrpgs. please make a handheld you will actually take care of.

      Dude, that’s a brand new game. Start making a wishlist and posting it every month, and maybe you’ll get lucky. It’s worked for me in the past. It never hurts to ask politely. It goes a long way. ;)

    This is a really solid month, and last month was too.
    Soooooooo many whiners and complainers, I’d love to see some of your wishlists.
    I post my list every month so Sony knows what I’d like to get. Why don’t you?
    All I know is we’ve gotten many games from my wishlist in the past, so a huge “THANK YOU!” to Sony and all the hardworking folks on the team.
    Everyone else can just put up or shut up.

    Another month of nothing but indie games for the Vita. How about some AAA games now and then that weren’t Vita launch titles? It’s not as if we’re even getting them for free to own, we’re just renting them until PS plus expires and we have to pay up again to keep renting them. At least let us rent some actual big games.

    I been finding it almost a waste to have a ps plus the games ain’t never that good like it has been in the past the best thing about ps plus is the deals you get off of games and even that sometimes ain’t all that great only reason I have ps plus now is to play my ps4 online I have downloaded a free game in almost 3 months but not gonna lie thinking about getting that God of war

    Too bad Vita is so, so dead. If there were a flood of good free games and a price cut I might pick it up, but anyways most games are being ported to PS4 or already available elsewhere.

    This lineup is better then usual but still below my expectations. I got the platinum for god of war years ago, Lara Croft is a bit out of my comfort zone, and Indie titles well Indies speak for themselves I’m a gamer not a filthy casual christ I’ve seen apps better then these indies. I usually ***** but since we got drive club last month I’ll behave…..this time. I hope next month is better Sony!
