The code must be redeemed at checkout and discounted transaction completed before 1/26/15 at 9:00 AM.

@ BurntGoliath Yoshida and stuff here clearly said you can use 10% off on pre-orders but SCEE just edit their post and they said you cannot use 10% off coupon on PRE-ORDERS’ . Can any offical reply me about this please. I mean 2 different statement from same copmany

+ Reaper527_ You should be able to just cancel the pre-order and then recreate it if the codes can be used on pre-orders at all (which I don’t believe that they can).

Yep you’re right. I thought that would probably be the case.
Blood_Rose there is no section to use the code. when I try to pre-order bloodborne all I see the payment page. the other games have discount code section but pre-orders haven’t
+ nagrith I know. I figured they would either have to change that by this weekend or the original press releases were a mistake. It would appear as though the second scenario was correct.
I would be happy about this if it wasn’t for the fact I won’t be able to use it because i have no money to buy games at the moment, Come on sony, There has to be more people like me who are unable to use it because of its limited time availability. All I have to say is that I hate limited availability codes when I have no Job (18 years old).

The posts here (NA) and on the EU blog were made by the same person. I can’t tell which was posted first, but I suspect ours will soon be edited to exclude pre-orders.
I think the execution here was rather shabby, and Sony should at the very least consult a few actual gamers before making decisions. It’s nice there’s a 10% discount this weekend, but they should have known many people would be broke after previous sales and before the end of the month.
So did they have to do anything? No, but they needlessly made many people feel left out and probably lost sales due to some not being able to participate. Oh well.
Some good ideas here anyway, like buying stuff that’s never on sale.
+ nagrith I agree with + ThumbsOfSteel74 in that it was probably a mistake that will be edited later on. I doubt they are going to overhaul the entire checkout system just to make one coupon work.
@ThumbsOfSteel74 if we cannot use the code on pre-orders I think this code pretty much nothing for everyone. The most recent titles released like 2-3 months ago. if we use it to buy those games it’s 54 usd for us. it’s much expensive than any other retail copies. So if I can’t buy a new game with that code what would I do with it

Hm…I missed where Sid Shuman already replied and said pre-orders were included. But I wonder if he will return to tell us how or if he is simply mistaken. Possible the JP store works differently or there is some magical workaround that’s yet to be revealed here.

OK, so on Japan it seems to work for some but not others in that it will only work on those that can be added to the cart. The pre-orders that go straight to checkout are still code exempt.
Well, PS+ was the only I was going to buy with the discount. There really is nothing in the PS store I want to buy right now. But hey, the effort is still appreciated!
Can you guys put the pre – order for MLB The Show 15? I already have what I want and the next game I want is The Show. This discount should be for a month for a one time purchase. I’m not to happy with this deal.

I’m going to clarify some of what I said before, since I didn’t really go into enough detail.
I don’t feel a company should have to offer recompense, beyond ensuring that customers get what they paid for of course, if they are the victim of a criminal act. It’s silly.
But, on the flipside… if you’re going to offer customers a make good, you have to make sure it appeals to customers, and respects them.
By doing it now, they’ve ensured that kids have spent their Christmas money but parents likely haven’t recovered from Christmas.
They’ve ensured that people have had the perfect opportunity to spend all their money IMMEDIATELY before the discount is available, but without telling them that this would be the case beforehand.
They’ve ensured that people will have most of their bills due at the same time as the discount’s available(month’s end is statistically more expensive than early in the month).
Basically everything they could do to ensure as few people as possible use it, they’ve done. And it has made me go from happy customer who thinks they’re offering something unnecessary to feeling like they really have no respect for me at all as a customer.

Lame. You should at least give us a little more time to use that code, because I’m almost certain there’s not gonna be any good sales this week because of that. And even if I do find something I’m interested in, I’m only gonna save a couple bucks. That’s hardly worth what we had to go through over the holidays.

I have to agree this is a very insulting apology. I really don’t like the way thing are going these days.
A few years ago we got 4 free games when service was down. Now 10% code so Sony can profit off of more sales. So it’s essentially.. sorry.. now go give us more money. Don’t fall for it.. we should expect more as consumers.

Kind of shady how it is a time-restricted code. When you announced this, you forgot to mention that.
Does this apply to PS Classics?
Would have preferred something like $5.99 for everybody, but I know you’re just running a business and this is just a show to pretend we’re given something.
And what about people who got a PS4 on Christmas and couldnt do anything, including activate our PS+ subscription?

Just for the weekend? So the “thanks” which is supposed to be a benefit for me is actually a benefit for Sony because people will be buying products they otherwise wouldn’t. I’ve already purchased everything I want for 2014 and pre-ordering is foolish, so I guess I’ll miss out on this one. Bummer!
I know that we’re already getting 10% off of almost everything in our cart, so please don’t take this as a complaint, but will there actually be a new sale and new pre-order additions this week? Last week’s sale was great but I own everything I was interested in, and the sale should be expiring by the weekend, so there’s not much to get excited about for me. I realize it’s Tuesday afternoon (my time) and perhaps all the updates haven’t gone up, but even a hint that there’s something to look forward to using this one-time discount on would be very encouraging.

Off topic: You should try Google Chrome. It allows you to edit text even after hitting the back button. I used to get aggravated by IE’s lack of this feature. I’ve heard Firefox does the same thing as Chrome.
Of course you could always try not typing long posts. :P Doesn’t always work for me, either. XD
