UPDATE: PlayStation Network is back online. As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.

The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

I still can’t sign in into my ps4
This is becoming ridiculous. 4 days now without online access? I can understand the first day and maybe the second day, but 4 days is too much considering Microsoft was up and running the very next day. Sony needs to hire better staff to fix these problems as well as do something for us paying customers who are losing access to a service that we are paying for.

Hi, i’m still having a hard time trying to log in and it says the server code still after i did everything you guys said so what shall i do?
I read that the “network” is back up…. great. However, I have no luck using the “Four Games Pick One” redeem features on the awesome network here. Anyone have any idea bout this? Also, I notice that some of the support pages are still not loading… live chat is giving an error code. I have an 11 year old kid who has been waiting patiently since Christmas morning… what to do.
its 28th dec and i still can log in on PSN on my PS4 its getting on my nerves now, yet my nephew is able to log into his on his PS4 how does that work!!
So I’m signed into psn and now I keep having an issue with my licenses for my games. Bought ac4 and attempted to restore the license to access it and I’m get np 34993-8 error code. Any help would be appreciated

It does NOT work for me, I tried all the solutions and keeps the same Hope right now you’re working to fix it for the people that can not connect to PSN, thats what we paid you for.
GUYS THIS IS HOW YOU GET ONLINE ON PS4 THX ME AFTER If your PSN is still down, follow these steps:
Boot up your PlayStation 4.
Go to “settings.”
Go to “network.”
Select “custom.”
In this menu, leave everything as default except MTU.
Change MTU settings to “1473.”
Save your changes.
Reboot your PS4.
My PS4 will still not sign in and I have confirmed it is not the PS4. So why in the world can’t I sign in still?

So it’s was restored yesterday yet my network is still down after power cycling both my devices and following all you silly standard responses

Not that anyone’s even reading this at this point. It’s Sunday the 28th. And still there is no service. We as a family own multiple systems in current and previous generations, I remained vigilant when hackers took down the psn for a much lengthier period of time a few years ago. I still don’t have service in Canada BC Kelowna from this last attack yet I can log into the ps ap and see all my friends playing happily together . I have taken 9 days off work and wasted my vacation days hoping I could play some games. We pay monthly and yearly for this service. Your excuses are a moot point. You have cost us time and money. I have spent thousands of $$$ on the psn. I want solid compensation or I walk.
Ok…so logged on with MTU changes but none of our new games will work online because they need updates and the updates are not loading. This is just stupid crazy. *sigh*

changed the mtu settings now it tells me I need to change some privacy settings it starts letting me do that and then looses connection with the server
Seriously how long is this gonna take lots of people have paid subsciptions and its already been 3 days why is xbox back on line and playstation still off i hope there will be some kind of compensation for this because i changed from xbox to playstation i really hope it was worth it.
My brand new PS4 still wont connect to PSN. But I have noticed the maintenance screen on the PSN website is not there anymore. I don’t know if that is a sign of improvement or what. I’m not angry at PlayStation i’m sure they’re dong their best but it would be nice if my PS4 would connect online sometime real soon.
Love to say it’s fixed but not fully. Like others I am still not able to log on via ps4. Tried all the tweaks like power cycling etc and MTU change to 1473 with little success. Never been able to logon fully with ps4 yet (received as present this week). Will keep looking and trying. Like so many others lost a great long weekend of playing new things. Won’t see that kind of time for a while. Not happy with the hackers and not happy with Sony for not pushing through all weekend 24/7 until really fully operational

So PS4 survive is now back online however, I can still not claim my free game from the 4 games 1 pick bundle because the site is still “under maintenance” how long should I expect to wait for that to be fully operational again?

This is absurd… you would think as much money as we spend on your products you would be able to have this up and going… 3 days and nothing… I still can’t log in… my “state of the art” gaming system is effectively a big plastic paperweight… kinda crappy if you ask me

Hey Sony, this combined with your “sale prices”, and constant remastered editions when we know ps4 is capable of backwards compatibility. You might as well just hand all your users over to steam. I mean do you even pay attention to the industry you do business in. Look up steam sale and humble bundle. Try competing.

I am located in Arkansas and I am still unable to log in to PSN… I do not understand how servers work, but people on the east coast can log on and my buddies in Oklahoma can log on I am just wondering why I still can’t get on. Really craving some destiny time. After 5 days of waiting im more than ready to get back online.
