Hi everyone! Last month, we announced that Themes are coming to PS Vita and PS4. If you’re a PS Vita owner, the wait is almost over! Later tonight, PS Vita system software update v3.30 will be available to download, enabling you to personalize your PS Vita’s Start and Home screens, system application icons, and the system’s background music.
Starting tomorrow, non-game Themes including Crystal, Four Seasons, and Stitching will be available to purchase and download from PlayStation Store on PS Vita. Themes from fan-favorite PlayStation Vita games, like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Tearaway, and Freedom Wars are all coming soon. You’ll be able to manage downloaded themes through the PS Vita system’s Settings app. Check out these bad boys in action:
Update v3.30 also allows you to see Trophy rarity when viewing Trophies on your PS Vita so you can know just how kickbutt your gaming skillz are!
If you’re a fan of setting up events with your friends via the Calendar app on PS Vita, you can now send event files from your Calendar to your friends using Messages or Email so they can easily add them to their own Calendar. This update will also allow you to add players not in your Friends list to your events.

It’s awesome to finally see this on the Vita! I’d love to see a Gravity Rush or a Persona 4 Golden theme. Those would be pretty cool.
Any chance that you guys can work something out to bring the Danganronpa theme over to the US? I know its a third party theme and all.
So if Psvita gets some themes off of its exclusives, will the same go for the ps4?

I’ve been looking for the themes on PS Vita store and the PS Store on PC … can’t find any reference to them at all, this afternoon, especially the last few hours that I’ve been looking a lot more … nothing.
still no word on the Live with Playstation app for vita (that was promised), put out an update that introduces themes but there are no themes, and still no word on anything except its coming soon? This might be my last year with Sony and its all due to their lack of communication with there company and extremely vauge post and or announcements
I can’t say as I like the lag in displaying personal backgrounds now. Is there a way to fix this, or revert to the previous setup if I’m not interested in official themes?
Way too much lag on switching pages on the vita since the update!!! Please fix!
My background photo takes 2 sec to load… Kinda annoying.
FYI DON’T UPDATE! It slows down your current screen transitions and there aren’t even any Themes for download anywhere!
Can we get remote play voice chat, playing destiny via remote play without the ability to chat isn’t very fun and almost impossible to coordinate.
Crystal and Stitching are now available to download in NA.
Why is there still no smooth transitions between pages on the vita? Still get a black or white screen for a second before loading the wallpaper.. guess ill stick with those stock wave stuff
i would like a remote play for the Ps3 that would let me play Ps3 games and themes that move in the background of the vita srceen and themes that let you change the way the application and game application look
my system is updated and there are no themes, what was the point???
Next add multiple account on the same memory card and my Vita is complete.

These themes are really cool, thanks Sony! Anyone looking for them in the PS Store on the Vita just need to look under the “New Releases” tab on the home page. Looking forward to more themes soon!

Disappointed with the themes, when you open an app or game to start it or whatever, the background turns completely black!! I’ll keep the vanila look until sony fix all the issues…
I dont seem to have any themes at all after installing the update. Anyone else in AUS having the same experience?

Hey guys not trying, to be a jerk I like themes and all but how about we get a little more first party support for the Vita. Cause that’s all we really want…..
Maybe a “Jewel” theme… The “Crystal” theme gave me that idea. Maybe something cute as well, (lots of cute things, sorry for being vague…) and changing the bubbles to match the themes…

You should do a Gravity Rush, Hatsune miku, and/or overall country themes! And to step out of the realm of gaming, you should do a United States Marine Corps theme! Please!
Interesting. The Store Icon doesn’t get themed with either theme. The lag between swiping screens when using different background patterns is annoying so I’m using the same color on all my screens. This wasn’t a problem with the pre-installed backgrounds. The last background in the crystal theme, bottom right, the red one is glitched, when selected it puts the top light blue one in. Kind of feels like these weren’t tested before release. Not sure what to make of the lag on screens but until fixed, gotta stick with one background for all screens.

Personally speaking for myself, I don’t really care about that, I wouldn’t buy a whole lot of ’em, I’d rather play games like Uncharted on a console.
I’m quite happy with all the niche rpgs and other eastern centric games the Vita is getting, those are exactly what I like playing on Vita.
Yeah it’s true, the new themes make the transitions between pages longer and they’re black.
The the borders around the menu when you’re opening up a game go black as well.
I kinda grew to like the old music anyway so I think I’m gonna stick with the default for now.
I don’t like the Themes overall. I do like the Stitching icons a bit, but don’t like how one cannot customize the color of the top bar to their liking still.
Because of the transition between pages problem I used to either only use the regular backgrounds on the PS Vita, or a Photo on every other Page, with a regular background in-between. Either method keeps a fluid look when scrolling. It has been a problem since Day 1 of PS Vita, with no change with this last update for Themes.
Right now I have the stitching theme on, with one of the regular playstation blue page choices, and my good old regular PixelJunk Monsters PS3 Wallpaper as my Start Screen. I don’t like the very light bar on top. It goes black when opening any app, at least.
I fully dislike the Crystal Icons, btw.
You can find the Themes on the PC store by looking on the main Game Page for “Themes” down the left side, then check off PS Vita to filter only PS Vita themes. There are 3 free ones and 2 premium ones. As of this writing.
Also it seems those premium themes are PSP/PS Vita themes. So … I’d love it if I could download and use the Lord of the Rings PSP theme that I already have on my PSP!
Where is the support for multi user account by just swapping the memory card?

Just brought my Xperia Z3 Compact. Waiting for the Z3 tablet Compact.
Remote play function on those phones is still not available.
I love the fact that I can play my ps4 from my office during breaks using my Vita. But
If only they can fix the wallpaper’s resolution. It totally degrades the original picture’s quality.
@Sharon Kapitula, Whats a PS Vita? Just kidding but hey do you know if we will get a PS2 theme for Vita or PS4 id pay hundreds for that the PS2 system music and boot noise was awesome
