There’s a little bit of déjà vu going on as our PlayStation Plus members will once again receive two games free the day they hit the PlayStation Store – Velocity 2X on PS4 and Joe Danger’s release on PS Vita. Of course, there are other great titles including Sportsfriends on PS4, PS All Stars Battle Royale and Hoard on PS3 and TxK on PS Vita.
On PS4, Plus members will be able to download Velocity 2X and Sportsfriends. Velocity 2X is the sequel to Velocity Ultra and features arcade shooting and puzzle platforming with a cool teleportation mechanic. Sportsfriends is the perfect title to complement your parties, as it features 4 mini-games – BaraBariBall, Hokra, Super Pole Riders and Johann Sebastian Joust– to bring out the competitive side in everyone.
For PlayStation 3 owners, you can nab PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale, the game where you can get together with friends and pit PlayStation characters like Sly Cooper and Kratos against each other. And Hoard, an action-strategy title where you’ll play as a dragon attempting to get as much gold as possible.
PlayStation Vita owners can pick up Joe Danger for the first time on the platform and enjoy some good old fashioned stunt racing, as well as TxK, a remake of the classic arcade shooter Tempest.

I’m getting pretty tired of the abundance of indie titles on ps4. This is supposed to be the most powerful console in the world, yet we still haven’t gotten many captivating titles that really demonstrate it ability. Instead we just keep getting indies….
Oh golly gee gosh the only thing to really look forward to since I don’t have a Vita is Sportfriends because I already have All-Stars. I think I’ve got the other game in a early beta form on Steam and tower-defense arcade titles hurt my head because of mundane repetition. Can’t we get some good fighting game titles like JoJo HD or something?
Sadly, it is rare for the PS Plus lineup to actually interest me. Most of the games are more action based while I’m more of a traditional story driven rpg player. Considering how few games that interest me get put on the plus lineup, I’d probably save money by not having plus and just buying the games I am interested in. But who knows. Maybe they’ll surprise me. Probably not, but I’m probably a minority within the user base. I’d be more interested in being able to play some JP store games since from what I’ve been told, some of the games I’m interested in are not going to be released in NA like God Eater 2. If they let plus members choose which store they wanted to buy from, I would be more happy than getting simple free games that I’m mostly not even interested in.
Does this blog have an app or must I log back in each time using a mobile just to post a silly few words? Anyways, thanks to this awesome windows phone, browsing is.pretty superb. I really like my PS4. It it what I wanted my Xbox 360 to be and what Xbox One has failed to be for me. It feels alot like what Steam Machines promises to be. And that is an ok thing.
But if Indies are what will be mainly focused on with the instant game subscription portion of PS+. Then I would like a larger selection of games to choose from, for the two per month. Make it happen. Thanks.
Fyi. Just had to log back in using IE on 8.1 mobile. Please fix this cause I don’t like it, it is annoying. That is besides my main reason for posting again, so soon. I just wanted to say thanks for supporting indie devs. Now gtf on point with how you enable your subscribers to experience new and possibly exciting games, of different genres.

I can honestly say I haven’t downloaded any of the free games on ps4 since launch for plus. I am not interested in indie games AT ALL. I’d rather have classic ps1/2 games if anything. And yes, I have seen people play them or gameplay videos . haven’t been interested even once.
Guess it’s time to leave PS+. Stuff I already have then months of updates exclusively consisting of mediocre indie games. I would atleast expect quality big names for PS3 and Vita since there is a big enough library of games to do so but no.
The only positive trend I’ve seen is the amount of cross-buy titles offered.

Not bad. Not bad. A few games that I have wanted to try – I could end up saying this month was a great one! Dragon’s Crown alone made it for me last month.

Just PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale for me… And well, people don’t complain about getting free games, because we all pay a yearly fee to subscribe to the service! Then, technically it’s not a gift, it’s a pay-before-receive-later type of thing.
I think the new format will start to disappoint more and more, specially those who have just one system! I think Sony will adapt some things (the multiplatform games, the indie wave, and the very small number of games per console) and make it a very rich service once again.
At least I hope so…

I don’t mind indies when they are games like outlast, games where you know the developers actually put in an effort. We’re not bashing the indies but who wants to play 8-bit games on a system like the PS4?
Sony needs to wake up and look for better indie developers or focus on bringing us the tried and true. For those of us who took a break from gaming but still hopped online through PS Home, we no longer have that option unless we kept our PS3’s but here we are now, Sony swears these 8-bit pixelated garbage games are going hold us down until we finally receive our AAA’s on PS4. Second son was short, first light is even shorter which is understandable, there are very few decent indies, The Last of Us remastered was an awesome game but if you played it last gen and platinumed it then I don’t see any reason as to why you should do it again.
The games releasing this year and the ones that have released as well as the PS+ titles are not giving players enough reason to buy a PS4 before the year is over.
Once again, another month where PS4 owners are taken for a ride through a murky river of raw sewage. Good job Yoshida, “I don’t know why gamers want AAA titles”…. Oh really?

I think my membership was worth it when we had something to look forward to every week. I just have a PS3, it’s all I can afford, and frankly I’m starting to feel my few bucks a month would be better spent on Android Google Play or Steam games. Just going to let my membership run out this month.

i really do not understand how one can be disappointed. the games may not look like blockbuster hits, but when you give them a try they always turn out to be of great quality.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many people stating that this is the worst month ever for Plus before. And I know a lot of these guys here. It’s not in their nature to complain about free games on Plus. But I have to say that I find myself in agreement with them. Like most people on here, I’m very disappointed with this month’s Plus offering. There’s only 1 non-indie game, and it’s the one that everyone already has since it’s been on sale in the past countless of times before. And it is the worst month ever on Plus. Maybe this is how things are going forward with the new format of 6 games per month (all indies and 1 regular game).
I hope someone is seeing all of the complaints about this month and it causes a shift in things. Plus does seem to be on a decline. I don’t expect amazing ps4 stuff, since it is very early in the console cycle, but I am very often disappointed.
I will give all of these a try, but I feel pretty let down.
So when will the store actually update for this month’s free games. I still see Fez and Proteus
Wow… for the first time in a long time I’m considering ending my PS+ subscription… This month and last month… pretty disappointing.
PS Plus was amazing until Sony released PS4 and started extorting gamers with mandatory PS Plus for online multiplayer. Then they started cutting the content on PS3, and now they’ve turned it into complete garbage. Now I’m paying the subscription just to keep all those older good titles they used to give out. Once I finnish them, I’m canceling the subscription. And I hate when people say Instant Game Collection is free – it isn’t, you’re paying for it!
Playstation fans we need to start complaining loudly. This lineup is ridiculous.
BEYOND! 1st off, Love the Blog! Now 2ALL of u Cry Babies saying how PsPlus Needs 2Stop w/the Indies. Give em time. I’ve been a Plus member since its Very 1st month on ps3. When PsPlus 1st hit, we got Eary Access2 Betas, Dynamic Themes, Avatars & Minis.(most weeks) Then, the Arcade & AAA Retail Games rolled in faster then I could play em. Give it 1yr & PsPlus on PS4 will get AAA titles. Biggest reason is that PS4 ONLY has 10Months under its belt! Just take a second & look @the “other consoles monthly deals” They only give 3-4 out at a time,(Total on Both XB1&360) & most games stay for TWO Months @a time! (we only get 1new this month on that side) I’ll take 2 New Indies anyday, along w/ 4more 4my PS3 & PSV! Thanks 2 PsPlus, now us multi-console owners get Games w/ Gold. Give Credit where credit is due! Not cry that u dont like 1 or ANY of the “Free w/ Plus” 6 Games this Month!

That said, I am looking forward to Hoard and V2X (already bought PS All Stars during the sale). If I get another PS4 controller I’ll try out Sportsfriends.. Vita owners have nothing to complain about these last few weeks tho.
Also, if you’re disappointed by the PS4 releases then I ask: What game would you like Sony to put on PS+? A $60 retail game that just came out 4-5 months ago? You’re looking for 5-6- $60 games free when you paid $50 for a year? Insane. Wow, you guys are just whiners. Please do cancel your subscriptions and help weed out the gaming scrubs that you are.

Not to worry, guys. The store hasn’t updated yet. It’s usually done by 2pm Pacific/5pm Eastern every Tuesday. They’re fairly consistent with the timing.
All of this week’s new content including the free Plus games for the month will show up when the store updates.

1. you just rent the games, you dont own them. so 50$ cant be possible, because you have to renew every year the subscribtion.

I never thanked PS+ for NBA 2K14. I’ve been playing that one a LOT. I really like Tomb Raider, too. I don’t think I’ll be downloading anything this month, though.
Please bring AAA games back to Plus. There’s too many indie games on Plus lately :(
Lots of good suggestions left by others in the comments: Max Payne 3, Tomb Raider (2013), Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Rayman Legends, The Last of Us, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Batman: Arkham Origins, etc.

Since i bought a ps4 all that has been free on ps+ i wouldent even play on a zx spectrum and getting few tracks and cars next month 4 drive club instead of the full game haveing to pay 50 quid to upgrade is a joke i bought ps4 and ps plus 4 that game they put the game back aswell i fell like sony is false advertising ps plus
Well considering everything is suppose to be at least 80 on Metacritic for ps+ I’m mightily unimpressed with this fayre! It’s has started to slide of late and if it wasn’t for the stalls titles I already had I wouldn’t be renewing.
