Later today, the next system software update for PlayStation 4 (version 1.51) will be available. With this minor required update, stability of system software has been improved. In addition, minor refinements to elements of the system UI (such as clearly indicating when a user downloads a game and a game patch at the same time) have been introduced.
In the North American region, automatic downloads for system and game updates are enabled by default when PS4 is in stand-by mode. Once system software update 1.51 is available later tonight, your PS4 will automatically download it, enabling you to update quickly and easily.

Since you’ve upgraded your hard drive remember don’t click on Update System, but instread
Select [Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)].
I installed a Hyper 1TB drive and it’s working very well.
Once your install the operating system, it will then do the system update.

Please, get us the BluRay 3D movie playback patch. I hope Sony is listening on this one. I do enjoy games, and I purchase and download media. But I also own a stack of BRay 3D movies I cannot watch right now. I realize you all said you were going to add this in a patch. It would be nice to have right now when people are starting to take vacations in the U.S. People visiting, friends coming over and you want to watch one of your movies and you can’t… …in fact, nearly all of the PS4 features assume that you are sitting alone at home sharing stuff with online friends. Please, don’t forget about your customers who entertain themselves and friends in their home.

“also for those with PULSE Elite headsets and PS4, remember that 3.5mm wire that came with the headset, for mp3 players, cells, Vita, etc? well dig it out! if you plug the wire into the PULSE Elite headset and the other end into the DS4 controller, you’ll hear your chat audio in the left ear piece. go into Settings, Sound and Screen, Audio Output Settings, and you’ll see Output to Headphones and that it’s set to Chat Audio. select it and change it to All Audio. and congratz! you can now you your PULSE Elite with your PS4! In order for the headset to receive sound, the DS4 controller MUST be turned on, however the headset does NOT have to be turned on in order to hear your friends, game sounds, music, etc. The USB Dongle does NOT have to be plugged into the PS4 either, and yes the mic function will work when the headset is off.
This is a workaround until Sony can add back PULSE Elite headset USB support, but I hope it helps!”

the update has downloaded 4 times for me and hasn’t installed yet.. also I bought assassins creed from the online store, and the game will stop randomly and install something during an hour long waiting screen.
Is anyone having a problem using remote play when you’re away from your home network with this new update? I was able to remote consistently from work before the update. Now when the vita finds the ps4, and “checks the connection environment” it disconnects before the UI is displayed. After that, the vita won’t even find the console anymore.

One thing I noticed last night (Wed., Nov 20/13) and not sure if this is due to the stress of so many on PSN now.
Music Unlimited kept cutting out all night long.
You would listen to music and then the sound would drop, at times for 10 mins and then all of a sudden it would come back, sometimes as much as 15 mins later.
Thought I should mention this as well, but realize it could just be the extra volume of people on the Network.

How about an update for the ps3 Bluetooth, every time I try to pair my Bluetooth it says it cannot be found.
You can get full game audio from your favorite pair of headphones through the controller. Why is everyone so adamant about getting other headsets working?
Software updates are awesome idc what its for, I just love knowing that the things I buy are goijg to get better and when they do it feels good, especially make overs to the layout that makes things smoother haha especially cant wait for DLNA update and anything they can do for Xperia, I know I should be using a hard line but 5ghz would be so cool to know is there when I need it especially in congested areas, im still rooting for you Sony haha

This is good work with this update 1.51, I had no problem so far with my system need to check how it behaves with online play. I also curious if we are going to have an update soon for 3d movies, since I invested in 3d movies with the PS 3 and have a 3d smart tv. I really was bumed finding out there is no 3d except on certain games. I just played the Demo of Trine and I have to tell you 3d is not dead! TV’s are cheaper than ever allowing average people to buy good 3d TV’s. Mine only costed about $700 and I love it. Please tell me that there will be 3d support on PS 4. I sold my PS 3 for the new one and feel now that I should have kept it :-(
Hopefully the Pulse Headset update comes out soon too, multplayer is way more difficult without my headset.

I don’t know if anyone at sony got the memo, but your supposed to add to a new console not strip it down and make the consumer wait for the same attributes that were on the old console. Please let us play CDs and rip them to our HDD and use USB flash drives to display photos, play music and videos, we all loved those features from the SONY PlayStation 3, thank you!
I agree the photo, music, and other features from PS 3 was my deciding factor to buy it and I loved it not to mention the blue ray player and 3d capabilities. Please Sony consider these facts because it seems like Xbox One is increasing customer satisfaction with music playback and other things that mirrors the PS 3 features. I don not want to bring back my PS 4 and having to end up with Xbox One grrrrr. I hope there will be an update soon putting our fears to rest from Sony. I would really appreciate it :-)
Called Sony Customer Support yesterday about my PS4 bricking after updating to 1.51. They couldn’t solve the problem. Sending me a box for replacement. Guess I’ll be spending more time with the Xbone this week.

I’m having problems with remote play as well.
Seems to nearly connect and then drops.
The PS4 sees it and the message pops up, but then it says it has dropped.
Second screen option on the Vita works still.
I’ve powered off/on both PS4 and Vita and it still occurs.
Not sure, but maybe the Vita requires an update ?
I have 1.51 installed now and before 1.51 I had no problems connecting with remote play.
Ok…false alarm.
It now works.
Not sure if it was because I went in and tried to do the remote connect to the PS4 and Vita again, or if it was just a glitch.
Excellent work and kudos to you for all that you are working on. The update we all REALLY TRULY NEED RIGHT NOW is the one that lets us all use our SONY wireless PULSE headsets that we used with our PS3 systems for the PS4!!!! I had to go out and waste $89 on a turtle beach headset that is lousy compared to my SONY ELITE PULSE headset. WE ALL NEED THIS PARTICULAR UPDATE FOR THE PS4 THAT WILL MAKE THE PULSE HEADSETS COMPATIBLE WITH THE GREATNESS THAT IS THE PS4 :)
Have I mentioned we all need the PS4 update that allows us players to finally be able to use our Pulse Wireless headsets from our PS3 systems???? Don’t get me wrong, I know and understand that the PS4 is completely new and that there will be some issues. That being said, please don’t let the xbox one upstage us with their immediate fix to what we are complaining about for our PS4 :)

What’s up with this update? Since it, I can’t access online with any game or get any updates on PS4. I’ve contacted EA and 2K but receive no response.

2 USB ports? what is this a netbook? Wireless headset adapters and the chargers themselves take two usb ports, leaving no room for even one of you non-compatiable charging cables.

Little surprised people aren’t as upset as Biviti… I’m just as furious. The situation where they said something would be compatible at a certain time, and it not? Unacceptable. And the vague nature of the FAQ with regards to the headset situation is annoying. I’ve said it before, 3rd-party headsets SHOULD NOT be compatible before 1st-party. I don’t wanna go out and buy a POS Turtle Beach, I wanna use my awesome Sony Wireless Stereo Headset. You sure are giving TB a lot of free sales, unnecessarily…
Compatibility is merely a situation where Sony has the decision to include a driver or not, it’s their choice. A SIMPLE DRIVER could fix it all… if you didn’t provide us a quality headset for sale at launch, don’t make us suffer for it. Our PS3 headsets are still fine. And no technology has progressed since the PS3’s headsets release so there’s no reason NOT to allow us to use them.
When Sony users since day-1 have waited years for a product, and you promise things, and you don’t come through? Don’t expect us not to be pissed off. The headset compatibility should have been addressed YESTERDAY (actually months ago during beta stage). Instead, it will probably take weeks… maybe months. That’s not fair, Sony.

Downloaded 1.51 and BF4 would only get to the title screen then freezes. Tried to redo licenses, nothing, even deleted the game and the updates then redownload, nothing I ended up deleting my saved progress in order to play.
My PlayStation camera worked out of the box, but after update 1.50 it doesn’t work anymore. Not even that red light on the camera to indicate it’s powered on (like it was when was working).
Fix it, please !!!
Everything was working fine and then we had a software update. Since then the volume isn’t working properly when playing a game and we have no sound on Netflix. We are using an optical cable to connect sound. Any ideas?

Please add video and audio playback features equivalent to what the PS3 had (bonus points for MKV and FLAC support).
Might also be nice to be able to change the background color on the main menu like you could on the PS3 (if it had an “auto” mode, like the PS3, where it changes color throughout the year and dims/lightens throughout the day, all the better).
Also, is PS.Blog.Share dead? I notice the most recent updates are over a year old, and there’s no way to make suggestions for PS4 features.

I definitely learned my lesson buying headsets with dedicated wireless dongles… in any situation where compatibility is an issue, the headsets are basically rendered useless. Not only do they not work but it’s virtually impossible to get them to work directly though my TV. Really unfortunate. I’m going to make sure any and every headset I buy in the future has a 3.5mm jack.
I was going to purchase a Pulse Elite temporarily until support for their USB dongles were out but I don’t know if they plan on getting this done in the next 30 days… I’ve also been forced to look into other options because even if I did get the Pulse’s, chat probably wouldn’t work. If I get the Pulse’s and find I like them, might actually keep them. But if they’re no different than the Wireless Stereo Headset I already have, then it doesn’t make sense… seems like whoever wrote the FAQ wasn’t 100% certain on the headset issue before writing it. Either that or they’re just really behind. In any case, this is a real pain in the ass.
Best thing for Sony to do right now is release an update implementing drivers for THEIR OWN products first. Then worry about the other 150 headsets.
Oh and careful, Sony.. longer you wait, bigger the riot.

Just purchased a PS4… I really wanted/thought that it would support 3D Blu-ray movies like the PS3 did. Maybe I jumped too soon… all my PS3 games are useless and now my 3D Blu-Ray collection gathers dust. What’s up wid dat??
