Don’t be alarmed — no, it’s not Monday. Although PlayStation Plus updates typically kick off the week, we’re trying something new by pulling back the curtain on our Instant Game Collection updates a little early.
For September, Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection is leading the charge, so you can break out your PlayStation Move Controllers (yes, regular controllers work too) and start destroying zombies. Later this month you’ll get the HD-remastered version of iconic PS2 classic ICO, one of Rockstar’s awesome portable versions of Grand Theft Auto (in this case, GTA: Liberty City Stories), Ubisoft’s loveable platformer Rayman Origins for PS Vita and the classic arcade shooter Galaga Legions DX.

no a psp can not download a vita game but a psp can dl all the psp games that they give us each month. again ps+ is for ps3/vita so we should get vita games just like eu .

I agree with you about PSP games and I actually have a PSP. The only PSP games I bought to play on my Vita were Persona 3 and wait, that might be the only one. I prefer to have my gaming with trophies, in general.

Wow, normally I’m pretty excited to be a plus member, the last couple of months have been stellar, but EU gets AC3 and we get a crappy rail shooter? I don’t get it, why does NA always wait longer for the good games and why is it sometimes we don’t get them at all?

@ thelookey6 I definitely agree. Asia and EU never fails to put 2 actual vita games everymonth. And also sony keeps on fooling subscriber by putting a game on same and later just a WEEK they will put on IGC. It happened before on Ninja Gaiden, now it happen again on Rayman.

Glad I can get Ico to see what everyone talks about but kinda disappointing that we don’t get the UK selection of AC3 and the Jak and Daxter Collection. Oh well can’t always get what you want, at least GTA 5 is coming out later this month so I’ ll be able to play that once I’m done with Ico.

i know the sale look good but you have to pass on them if you are a plus member i will name a few reasons why
1. each game that goes on sale will be on sale again with in a 2 week 1 month period
2. the games that go on sale will join the igc within a 1 month 3 month period
3.the games that go on sale are cheaper at a retail store and the indie games are 3 times cheaper on steam
and any pc can run indie games .
4. the psp games they give us are under $5 at game stop and cheaper if you use a coupon or wait for a sale price
Hey Morgan/ Kristine, may I just say that I was disappointed with how soon Rayman Origins went on PS+ for free after the sale, and a Sony support rep is being very kind about ticketing in a possible refund.
I feel that the sale was misleading given you knowing what was going to be free way ahead of time, and although I do understand that sales are final, it was still inconsiderate of you to do so knowingly.
Please make sure that games offered on ps+ are not recently ones that have been on sale. Please also continue to add great content as I am very excited about ICO and GTA for the psp!

let me clear 1 last thing up. when vita owners ask for psp games to be vita compatible means that there would be a way to transfer umd psp games and re-download psp games that we bought back in the 1800s on to our vita (lol 1800s).
we did not mean for you to throw psp games in the igc. we just wanted to use the old games we already owned while we wait for new/good vita games to be released. we did not mean keep old psp games at 205 prices and we did not mean for you to add these old psp games to the igc

@unflushablelog #32 I have seen something similar happen now a few times. This is the way I see it: the games that are given away for PS+ is a two-way street. Sony is trying to get content for it and publishers of the content have to agree to it. When a game is relatively old and a publisher is willing to put it on sale, they’re obviously to the point where they’re trying to get whatever money left they can out of a game. At that point they’re also obviously going to say yes when Sony says we’ll give you another hunk of money for your game if you let us give it away on PS+.
That being said, seeing a game on sale 1 week and it being given away for free the next is something Sony should probably want to avoid just to keep the customer’s good faith. I would suggest not picking up the phone and asking a publisher if they want to put their game on PS+ if that game was JUST on sale the month before. That is certainly controllable. Maybe wait a couple months. It seems obvious. Keeps the good faith with PS+ and stops people from being gunshy buying content.

It is an awesome update but… but… I basically have everything!! I already own RE Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles, Rayman Origins in the PS3, Galaga HD since the offer back on December, and I’m not a big fan of GTA…

I’m getting sick of Europe having a better line up. You guys have got to step your game up. They got ICO and Shadow of The Colossus last month.
Lame, no ps3 full tittle. They just give us ports nowdays. I like ico, but cmon. Give us ico plus a full ps3 tittle.
The only way to do something about it is to buy a ps eu account, but this one ends in december when plus will just be mandatory to play online and no games.

Hey. I’m excited that it’s the RE Chronicles, since I had darkside chronicles before but never played the umbrella chronicles. I do hope we get ACIII next month to coincide with ACIV’s release soon. I still really wanna play that game too.
Rayman’s Origins for the Vita looks good. Isn’t ICO $19.99 with Shadow of the Colossus though? I’m surprised we’re getting it separate. Oh well I never got to play it so I’m happy.

I was worried about not having any games to play while waiting for the PS4 to come out…I spent on my money on the PS4 and GTA 5 so been gaming all year thanks to PlayStation Plus :-) I can’t keep up lol you guys are adding lots of cool games …I think I’ll have enough games to last me all fall and winter already :-) thank you so much for PlayStation Plus …it’s the best.
Great on the portable side, PS3 ones not that great. Europe certainly got some great PS3 games with Asassin’s Creed 3 and Jak and Daxter Trilogy. Any chance we will see these two in the near future?

Free implies you’re getting something for nothing. You’re not getting anything for nothing. Wording like this was never a problem during the G.A.P and the P.S.U Days, what happened?
While I am not totally crazy about the choices this month, I am happy that PS+ is changing up the genres for the free games. That is definitely a plus!
On the disappointed flipside and not trying to sound greedy, but why do we get just ICO when EU got both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus together a couple of months back? Are you going to give us just Jak and Daxter next month after EU gets the full trilogy this month? This just gives traction to the people who get twisted about PS+ EU vs NA.
That said, keep mixing up the games and spreading out the genres. Thanks PS+!
Nice update. I already own ICO, Galaga and RE, but not Rayman. That one easily justifies PS+ for me this moth. This is what I love about PS+, even if you own the majority of the free games, it takes only one to be more han worth the $4 a month.

This could’ve been a good month if we had gotten Rayman for PS3, but as it is it’s just another poor month compared to the EU region. At least EU got the full Ico & SotC collection… There’s nothing here for those of us who don’t care about Vita or PSP.

I am actually really kind of pissed off with the inclusion of Vita Rayman Origin. I mean, it’s like getting a slap on the face buying it through the last PS+ discount and then to immediately see it released for free so soon after.
If games on PS+ discount is getting treated this way, then why should I bother actually purchasing a game utilizing PS+ discount/sales? I personally feel like my purchase of Rayman Origin during PS+ sale is not appreciated at all with this kind of treatment….. *Sigh*
You had me at ICO. Throw in some Resident Evil (a series I’m currently revisiting) and Galaga…best month for me in quite a while. And while I don’t yet have a VITA, i may download these for later enjoyment. The games coming out for that have really gotten me quite excited.
It’s a SHAME how SCEA handles customers, they think that we are “morons”…
So they will offer a game at a discounted price before the monthly launch of titles for PSN+, you buy the game thinking that you got a deal only to find out later, that it is coming to PSN+ for free…
That’s SCEA “Double dipping” in customers’ wallets…
Either way, SCEA is not offering a variety on their deals or line up because they are, in some sort of a way, “forcing” a product a long the line.to customers.
