It’s that time of the year again! Today, we have the pleasure of announcing this year’s lineup of great titles for the third annual PSN Gamers’ Choice Awards. As we have in previous years, we’re opening up the polls and hoping that you’ll make your voice heard to determine the best downloadable PSN titles. We’ll again have three nominees across 10 categories that will feature the top-rated and most popular games of 2012.
Starting later today through February 25th, you can visit PlayStation Store or the Sony Entertainment Network Online Store to cast your vote in any of the categories by downloading a free XMB theme. Remember, your votes will determine who wins in every category – not to mention that winning titles will then go on sale for a limited time.
Once you’ve cast your vote, check back here next Tuesday to see which titles came out on top. Starting later that day when the PS Store updates, the winning game in each category will be discounted in the PS Store for one week, with an even deeper discount for PlayStation Plus members.

I’m beyond happy that The Legend of Dragoon got nominated. Even though it won’t win, I’m glad it’s gotten so many downloads. Maybe just maybe Sony will consider a sequel/prequel/remake seeing how well it’s doing. That would be my one video game wish. :D All of us fans have wanted a follow-up to LoD for so long. I’d love Sony forever and ever if they made one.
Anyone else notice….tigerwoods pga tour is on the ps3 full game list…up for an award? So. Tonight may very well be the announcement of tigerwoods pga tour 2014 with move support! That must be it.
I see alot more people posting about the delayed update. Does this mean the announcement wont be till 10pm? Applying the same time table to that as you WEEKLY store update, the one you should never miss because its WEEKLY….but are almost always late on. Ps4 better just change update unofficially to Wednesday then Tuesdays at 9pm people will feel like the update got here early.
Call me crazy, but I have a feel Journey will end up on sale.

These are my votes. I am very angry though that Persona 4 Golden is not on any of these lists. I already own the game though and I think it is the greatest game the Vita has currently in its library!

Actually, no offensePSN, but this is a really stupid way to do this. If you are going to discount the winners then most of the people are going to vote for the ones on the list that they don’t already have. That doesn’t show you which is the best game it just shows you which is the best game that no one bought.
I mean everyone pretty much acknowledges that Journey is one of the best game from last year. But then it sold a lot of copies. So most of the people that own it aren’t going to vote for it again. I am the exception because even though I own most of the best games on here, I still voted on them, but I think I am going to be in the minority.
@VVaspInatoR any one that would compare SG to DoA beach volleyball is an idiot. Gameplay wise they’re are a mile apart. And what’s wrong with an all girl fighter? Its a very unique game with compelling characters. I find it hilarious that the only people that have problems with it are guys. SG has a huge female fanbase. If you really hate the game because it has an all female cast(for now, they might start work on a guy dlc soon if crowd-sourcing goes well, maybe even two depending on fan vote) and you have the gall to compare it to a DoA beach volleyball game then you sir are nothing more then a sexist ignoramus who clearly can’t see past his own prejudice to notice a great game even when its smacking you the face. Didn’t wanna give Journey EVERYTHING, Best Indie was the easiest win. Conversely, for an adventure game be so acclaimed, The Walking Dead has shown its chops, and while I also liked The Unfinished Swan, Tokyo Jungle is so weird I had to give it some cred.
Asura’s Wrath would be my Best Full, but for digital-only, I begrudgingly took PSASBR for its fan-service (and finding what mascots Sony considers its stock).
Gravity Rush’s concept is “3D action VVVVVV”. Sold.
PSP’s are all outside my experience, but Growlanser seemed the most “traditional” JRPG fare.
Classics tear me. P3 FES is the reactionary choice, but the Blog’s clamour for The Legend of Dragoon gives it the benefit, since everyone knows to have their eye on Persona, and P3 specifically is split between PS2 and PSP.
minis was clear: Velocity. It’s even getting an HD remake. The other two are better serviced on other platforms (Wizorb on PC, Canabalt on mobile, neither their native).
Don’t use PS Move, so I went with the not-a-shooter.
Likewise don’t multiplayer, but SkullGirls gets mad props for actually EXPLAINING how these fighting games work, plainly teaching the techniques so the terminology has meaning.
