It’s that time of the year again! Today, we have the pleasure of announcing this year’s lineup of great titles for the third annual PSN Gamers’ Choice Awards. As we have in previous years, we’re opening up the polls and hoping that you’ll make your voice heard to determine the best downloadable PSN titles. We’ll again have three nominees across 10 categories that will feature the top-rated and most popular games of 2012.
Starting later today through February 25th, you can visit PlayStation Store or the Sony Entertainment Network Online Store to cast your vote in any of the categories by downloading a free XMB theme. Remember, your votes will determine who wins in every category – not to mention that winning titles will then go on sale for a limited time.
Once you’ve cast your vote, check back here next Tuesday to see which titles came out on top. Starting later that day when the PS Store updates, the winning game in each category will be discounted in the PS Store for one week, with an even deeper discount for PlayStation Plus members.

I own a lot of these through PS Plus, so I’m not quite intrigued by the sale… it will be great for others to perhaps check them out. How are the games selected? I would think that you should have unique nominees for each categories since you it isn’t to our benefit that Journey wins 5 awards and you miss out on the other games…
Chrono Cross would of been a good choice tho for Classic’s as Trigger already won would be nice to see it go on sale and win. I wonder if past year’s winners are going on sale as well?

Just like when it was the “vita release moments”, before and during the vita launch, the store kept updating only reallllly late at night (well late for eastern/atlantic) time. They must be very busy with the big announcement.
I’m assuming many Sony employees also had the day off yesterday, too. Sometimes that leads to having to play catch up. No worries.

Guys! Guys! Hey guys and girls lets not vote for the same game in all the categories. We should vote on a different game in each category so that we can get the maximum number of games on sale. Honestly do we really need to vote for Journey 3 times? Isn’t it better to get Journey and 2 other games on sale? Be smart now kids. Lets vote for The Walking Dead on best PSN game, Journey on best PSN exclusive and Rainbow Moon or Soundshapes on best indie?? Or what do you guys propose. We should definitely put our votes on here so we can tally up the majority and then vote accordingly. Same with CSGO. I recommend PSABR for full game because its already at $40 and with a sale price it could down to $20-30 for 2 copies (PS3/Vita) of a truly under rated game. AC3 wasn’t that good and Borderlands 2 will most likely get a complete or gold edition with all the content later on so don’t even bother voting for that when its just the plain version of the game. I also urge people not to vote for Borderlands 2 after Gearbox gave fans of Aliens the finger with such a bad game. Don’t give Pitchford anymore undeserved money!

@ RyanJPorava ummm you know you need to copy over the bubble install to your portable rather than install on the ps3…
so, why is no one giving any love to skullgirls? it has arguably the best competitive online of any fighting game out there. The ggpo system is phenomenal. It did so many things to innovate the online fighting game community and the game is currently working on making its first dlc(which will be FREE for 3 months when released). really counterstrike is just another shooter. what have they done to seperate themselves from the pack? if you’re gonna vote for an online game at least vote for something a little unique. everyone that votes for counterstrike probably already has it anyway

@ + SephTiger I would have to agree same with a bunch of ps1 and ps2 classic’s Thousand arms, Star ocean, Lunar, Breath of fire III, Sukoden, Xenosage, Grandia III, Arc the lad tos, .hack, Legaia 2, Also it would be nice to see Ps2 games and Ps1 games in a seperate category.

Wow. VERY surprised to see that those are the nominees for best PS Move game. I thought that Okami HD and Portal 2 In Motion would have easily topped those three.

Assassins Creed 3 and Borderlands 2 are already $40 on Amazon for the PS3, why discount them on the PSN to that much? If they win they won’t go lower than $40, maybe $30-35. Playstation All-Stars Battle Royal is still $40 on both Amazon and PSN, so it will most likely go to $20 or lower if picked.

how was the nominees picked?
I having trouble with my PS+ a/c, first time subscribed for psn+ then form then:
1. As told I would have subscription of 1 year + 3 extra months subscription, I got only year.
2. Now Is Update says I will be able to cast vote in psn store or Digital store in pc, but I cant see on ps store home page.
Pretty much disappointing for me.
