PlayStation Store Update

Hey everyone,
It’s the final week of celebrating Only On PSN with the release of 2 exclusive PSN titles: inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood and PixelJunk SideScroller! Don’t forget that this is also the last week that you can purchase these, or any other content from the Store to go towards the $60 threshold to receive $10 back in November.

inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood delivers a darker adventure for Cole; complete with new powers, (did we mention he flies?) a new look for the city of New Marais, and access to the complete suite of User Generated Content tools. This downloadable inFAMOUS adventure is standalone and doesn’t require you to have previous inFAMOUS titles to play it.

  • hey staff why you say Homefront ($29.99)
but on the PSN store the game is 39.99$
    can you PLEASE FIX THAT!

  • Some one mentioned Naruto Ultimate Ninja Impact but I don’t see it on PSN. It was supposed to be released on PSN last week. What’s going on?

  • Would you all AT LEAST get Activision to put up the product they’re currently selling on store shelves for Black Ops? Stores now have a version of Black Ops that contains Black Ops and the first DLC pack, First Strike for the price you all have just the game listed over PSN. This should be very unacceptable. If a company is offering an upgraded product in stores for a similar cost that they’re looking to sell their product for over PSN, they should be required to include ALL CONTENT that you’d get with the physical disc version.

  • ok i have a story,
i bought a new PS3 this weekend for my son birthday.
i wanted to bakup the old PS3 to the new one
    with the transfer data utility
the old PS3 is a 320gb & im bakup on the new 320gb
but the problem is not there,
i started the “data utility transfer” this 23rd october around 9PM
its been 48h in a row that it is bakup data and still not finish (87%)
it go like 1% every 6~7hours now
    that’s a shame!
so now im assuming it will take 50 more hours for the last 13%
so that mean my son cant play is new ps3 he got to is birthday becose it take 5 days to backup 320gb!?!?!?
    PLEASE FIX THIS!

  • GT5 DLC… Thats all I need, thanks!!!

    ****PROUD PS+ MEMBER****

  • Crap disregard my previous complaint about Festival of Blood not giving the 20% discount for the preorder, cause I did get the $7.99 price, I apologize!

  • Avatar photo

The issue with the GT5 entitlements not showing up in the GT5 import screen should be resolved now. Please try again.

  • GT5 DLC still isn’t showing up.

Also i was very disappointed with the “wait and see” attitude of the Customer Service rep i spoke with.
I’m one of the unfortunate many who paid more than once because of the confusion, and im left with “well ill send a request for a refund.”
This multiple purchase, however silly of me to do, could’ve been avoided if it just showed up correctly.
I guess i was expecting “yes sir, let me refund you ASAP for the confusion”.

As long as i get what i paid for, ill be happy.

and i want my extra $11.99 back.

  • Whelp, no excuse for me to not pick up Mercury Hg.

Was getting kinda lazy on it due to my pre-existing backlog……but at 50% off? Impulse buy.

  • I like how Brian Dunn responded to me (and two others) with the link for the download instructions as if we were unaware. I had posted that same link on my GT5 league site yesterday.

Ah well, I turned around after dinner and the DLC finally worked.

  • I bought the GT5 content for $11.99 ($8.99 for PS + members) and it worked without a problem the first time. Thank you Mr. Dunn and the PSN Staff for all your hard work. The new GT5 content is great.

  • Downloading FOB as we speak. BF3 is amazing, as expected. Looking forward to UC3 next week.

For all those complaining about the price of black ops, I’d say it’s a fair deal. Not great, but fair depending on how you look at it. I have two playstation 3s. With the plus discount it’s only $40, and with that I can put the game on both of my systems and I’ll be able to enjoy MP for once when my family and friends come over who insist on playing splitscreen(which is terrible). The main buying point for me is being able to play matches of zombies with my girlfriend/friends without having to do splitscreen. Not to mention I have the disc version that I can sell off for around $20-25 dollars. In the end, 2 digital copies for a price of $15 on my end. Obviously this isn’t appealing to people who dislike the series but for those who enjoy it just look at it in that perspective. To each their own, though.

  • $50 for Black Ops? wow! is super ultra cheap! (sarcasm)
I hope there would be a demo of inFamous since I don’t normally buy digital games without trying them first but I’m 99% sure this game is awesome so I’m going to have to buy it

  • So… how do I get my money back? I’m a plus subsciber and I paid full price for the GT5 DLC.

    • At this time, you will want to reach out directly to Customer Service. Apologies for the inconvenience on this note, but thank you for your patience on the matter

  • Hey sony when are we gonna see some ps2 final fantasy?

  • Now the only matters left:
Refund for those that had bought GT5 multiple times on same account (and on most cases the Complete Package)
Refund the discount for those that are PSN+ members and had bought before discount was applied on store.

And I really think that it should be solved over email contact at least, or automatically to be more easy to SONY regain points with consumers.

Most of users know that if we buy parts of a bundle and then buy the bundle we will pay again for something that we have and won’t have the right to transfer the extra (I think that is plainly wrong, gift coupons could be easily generated like steam does with duplicate games – except those acquired externally); but in this case the exact same complete bundle was sold two or more times to some accounts, and we know that on most cases the PSN Store is programmed to prevent this, but in this case the “noob proof measure” failed.

I won’t try to sue SONY over a US$ 15 matter (discount not given to early PSN+ buyers and the dupe purchase) but it really bother me what happened and the way that the matter was treated by sony reps more than the financial damage that it caused to me.

  • Wow! I can’t believe Capcom actually managed to surprise me with a new low by charging for video watching and music.I didn’t think it would be possible to lower my opinion of them after charging for alternate colors for costumes.

  • Wow, so much whining.

Did you Plus members that bought the DLC pack without the discount ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe you all should’ve waited to see if the discount was applied before purchasing? I guess that would involve thinking. Sorry you should’ve done that. Asking for a refund of the difference though… Probably won’t happen. Why should it? You all decided to buy before the price was fixed for Plus members, even knowing that the Plus discount wasn’t there in the first place.

Then the people buying multiple times? Yeah, you might get a refund. But I do hope Sony sends you an email with giant, bolded letters saying, “Wow! You’re an idiot! Click buy a few more times next time and see if it works then why don’t you?”

  • Please, the next time you, Grace Chen, write “Store update”, write it completed.
Gran Turismo 5 Complete Pack pack for $11.99 (in the details for Exclusive Discounts, there is no mention of any discount for Plus members); and now, for PS+ members, the price is $8.99.

Another thing is with the pseudo tutorial for download the DLC ( this -> http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/products/gt5/store/ ), i follow every step and it says to me: “No purchase content found. For details of downloadable content, please see the official website at: http:/www.gran-turismo.com”. I go to that website and it says nothing about this problem; the problem of that Complete Pack and the only thing i could download is: GT Academy Theme, and the Honda NSX GT500 Stealth Model.

I expect you would fix these problems: be profesional at writing the store update, and the Complete Pack problem.

    Greetings.

  • I like how we get very few real responses, but this guy comes through hours later and tells all naysayers that everything is fixed.

    Smooth.

  • Theundertaker 85 says-“Did you Plus members that bought the DLC pack without the discount ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe you all should’ve waited to see if the discount was applied before purchasing? Wow, some fanboys are absolutely nuts. I bet this stuff keeps you up at night.

Perhaps if they at least stated in the update that PS+ would be getting the discount afterall, people would have waited. If you’re not even a big enough fan of the game to have bought it when the store went up, then what do you care? Many people have been waiting months for this.

  • Brian Dunn, thanks so much for your reply, it’s greatly appreciated.

I purchased the content on my main account thinking I would be able to use it on another account, because I was able to do this in the past with other stuff purchased from the store.

I appreciate you guys working on a “family upgrade” to allow purchased DLC content to be used by all users on the PS3, this would definitely solve the problem I have.

Also, my apologies for over-reacting earlier with some posts. Frustration got the best of me.

  • Theundertaker 85 says-“Did you Plus members that bought the DLC pack without the discount ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe you all should’ve waited to see if the discount was applied before purchasing? Hahaha, yes the overzealous fans are at fault for buying the content before Sony was ready for them to.

  • I called Sony support about not getting the Plus discount when I purchased the GT5 DLC pack. The nice rep told me that the difference would be refunded to my PSN wallet.

  • On facebook, PlayStation told us that there will be a DC universe free to play but it didn’t happen and now in this update i don’t see nothing about it, what’s going on? (thank you)

  • An alright update. Nothing for psp but ok. Lucky for me I got Ygdra Union to keep me busy. I second the request for Soul Blade to be released in the ps1 classics section, perhaps to celebrate the coming of Soul Caliber 5?

  • O yeah. About free game trials. I too would like the option of not acquiring trophies for them. I only want trophies for games that I own. Maybe including the ability to delete game-trial trophies?

  • something tells me all of the GT5 DLC confusion could have been avoided if Polyphony had just let it be downloaded like every other normal DLC out there … i mean LittleBigPlanet found a way to share its content among multiple users and still be a unique experience that each profile had to earn …

Polyphony basically showed us that they were more concerned about getting as much revenue as possible for the DLC than anything else … now everyone is confused, downloading multiple times by accident and having to wait over a week to get their money back … I was so seriously anxious to download this stuff all day that as soon as i got home i clicked on it and started downloading, only to later realize that as a Plus member, I was OVERCHARGED!

funny how they can instantly take our money OUT of our accounts, but putting it back IN takes 7-10 days ! …

don’t get me wrong, over all I’m a pretty big fan of Polyphony and Gran Turismo, their support up to this point has been top-notch … but this whole DLC debacle is just proof at least someone over there running the show is just plain GREEDY. Silly me, for forgetting this is afterall, a business.

  • Homefront. Well, I was thinking of buying the bundle for 34.99, so I checked out some youtube content and it looks decent. Overall though, I opted to download the PS+ Full Trial of Homefront (grabbing it as I type), to you know, try before I buy. Well, strange enough, the Homefront bundle is now gone from the PS Store, and the current price tag for purchasing in the Games\PS3 Games\H…\ section… The Homefront game is listed as a 39.99 title, which is even weirder because it should be listed at least 29.99 for the game itself. Otherwise then that bundle was cheaper than the game alone.

Eitherway, I’ll play through the 60 minutes, reboot system, and check again, just to be sure.

On a side note… Infamous FOB mwahahaha way cool. Still trying to get the hang of the flying while attacking, but so far, so GREAT! Thanks for making such an eyecandy gem of a game :D

Also, I’m confused. GT5 and GT5 Prologue… what is the difference? Same game? Just different levels of updates?

  • Any yet another week for psp users to buy nothing… So sad. its sad to think this is probably how the Vita will be as i doubt theyll be taking it seriously like the psp. Sony if you dont want at least help and release some games just make a statement that psp games will no longer be on “The Drop” & “PlayStation Store Update”. Its sickening to see not only myself but other as well waiting, and waiting on games if./when they come out, and you keeping quiet about every little thing is pathetic. Is this how Vita will be? its a good thing we’ll have carts for our games because we (gamers) know not to trust you when it comes to digital media.

  • <<<>>> GT5 Prologue was basically a “demo” or preview of Gran Turismo 5 (GT5). It was a stand-alone, disc-based game that was released sometime in Spring of 2008 in order to hold off the rabid Gran Turismo fans who were waiting impatiently for the full release of Gran Turismo 5, as well as cash in on some of those very people who couldn’t wait and make some revenue, no doubt

  • @179 >>> Thanks for the info, I haven’t touch GT since 2. Was a bit confused if GT5 was available on PSN for download, but you’ve clarified it for me being a standalone and separate title. Good thing i didn’t buy GT5 Prologue and GT5’s dlc lol

  • Played through the Full trial.. of Homefront; basically expired it. Checked the store, and the Bundle for 34.99 was back :D. Hopefully I can get it by the weeks end. Need to decide if its story is worth having to dodge those pesky grenades for the money. However, the single game listing of this title still says its 39.99… so, yeah i’ll hold off a bit before buying

  • Bought Pixeljunk Sidescroller & Daytona USA. Don’t think I’ll be getting Infamous (despite enjoying the series) or that new Zombie Apocalypse . Still need to decide on what platform to purchase Dungeon Defenders, PS3 or PC.

And then of course I got the GT5 DLC, for the full $11.99, only bought once though, before somebody remembered it was supposed to have a + discount. Nice one there.

  • I wish Amazon was still selling the PSN cards! Any reason for this Sony? There are many games I would buy off the store, but I wont until Amazon puts them back up on their own web store! And I’d rather not put in my C.C. info in on the PSN store ever, for obvious reasons in the past, and I really forget and would rather not buy them in retail stores either!

  • I’m disappointed because I was going to buy the DLC pack for COD: World at War for ~$12 and the price went back up today. Of course I could have purchased it faster, but I don’t actually own W@W yet though I plan to. I hesitated and lost out. I want to know; is this item is likely to go back on sale soon? In all honesty, I don’t think you should be trying to sell it for $24 anymore. COD: W@W is several years old and everyone knows that the online multiplayer is hacked. The only reason I’m interested in the packs is for the zombie maps they contain. I sure hope that you guys can put it on sale again soon. (If you ask me it should be permanent given the age and condition of game)

  • Whats up with DC Universe online going on the ps store for free? There hasn’t really been an update on this.

  • So I’m not the only one who noticed the lack of a DCUO digital download. I have been looking forward to this all month and now we don’t even have any news on it, and I bet it’s because sony doesn’t know a thing themselves.

Personally I think any DLC that is payed for should work for every account on the ps3, and if Sony tries to implement a family pack thing so we have to pay extra so everyone can enjoy DLC I personally will not be giving them any more of my money, and I will say now that every single friend I have on the system has said the same thing. Many people that buy a ps3 only buy one for a whole family to play on, My sister has her, my brother in law, her son, and her daughter. Knowing Sony they will make you pay for each and every extra account you want the DLC to work on as well. Really it’s nothing but greed on thier part, and they don’t even need the money, they just don’t want thier customers to have any for some reason.

  • Oh, and before I forget, sony, perhaps take a lesson from Netflix, whose stock has plummeted from over $300 a share to a measly $77 a share, because of thier over-reaching greed and assumption that thier customers are idiots. You already charge more money than most of the games on your system are worth, oh, and by your online agreement we are apparently renting the machine and the games anyways right? So who care what we think, good job.

  • @GMFCO311 Go in to a gamestop, they have cards there in $20 and $50 increments, and I wouldn’t put my information on thier anyways, for all you know sony sells it, as they state that any info you put into thier system is thier property.

  • @playstantion The game should already be free to play, if it is not it is an issue on the DCUO side of things, not sony, now, if you are asking about the free digital download they promised, well, hopefully enough of us have said something to get a response finally.

  • Wasn’t Mortal Kombat vs DC supposed to be available for Full Game trial this week?

  • i buy the gt5 dlc and all fine i have the car and track

  • Thats a big update!!! :)
    Sounds Great

  • @skinny01 (50)

Dude what are you talking about? Look at all the stuff in that list. There’s a ton of new demos to try, new avatars, new DLC,. This week’s update is huge. Nothing to complain about here.

  • I bought the GT5 DLC but I did not receive the PS Plus discount. I emailed Sony and they told me the DLC should now work and to boot up GT5. :-\

  • Fabio,

Se isso for verdade to começando a achar melhor jogar o Forza 4 no XBOX.

    Obrigado.

  • Here you guys go that don’t have any other means of getting your info on the DC universe going free thing this is the official statment from Executive Producer Lorin “DeadMeat” Jameson

    .

I know there have been a lot of rumors and questions (and unfortunate incorrect statements) about when we will be launching our new Free-to-Play model and I did want to clear things up. We have not actually stated an official date yet but we are working hard and making great progress and we are close. We do want to make sure that everything is ready before we announce a date but we will try and give you plenty of advance notice when it will happen.

The maintenance and patch happening today on the PC Servers and soon on the PS3 ones are one of the final steps in getting ready. We are very excited about this launch and want to ensure that it is as smooth as possible. In Developer terms we are working towards a State (everything ready) not a Date. I know everyone wants to know when and we appreciate your patience on this.
