We recently announced our partnership with DIRECTV to bring their most popular sports subscription service, NFL SUNDAY TICKET, directly to you via your PlayStation 3. Starting later today, you can access the direct link in the My Channels category under the TV/Video Services icon on the XMB (XrossMediaBar) or head over to the media category of the PlayStation Store to download the app in anticipation of the new 2011 NFL season.
This Sunday, PS3 owners without access to DIRECTV will be able to live stream every out-of-market Sunday NFL game on their PS3 with a subscription to NFL SUNDAY TICKET. You’ll be able to enhance your NFL experience with live multi-game scoreboards and field position trackers, which also allow you to access highlights, stats, standings and schedules, as well as the Red Zone Channel, which gives you live coverage of Sunday’s most exciting moments. The subscription for the 2011 season can be purchased directly through the app for $339.95. Existing subscribers can use the PS3 as an additional receiver in their home, as part of their NFL SUNDAY TICKET To-Go package, which is purchased through DIRECTV.

Skipping around at different points, had a good 5 mins of just horrible lag. This is so disappointing.
Of course, my backup option is my dad’s Slingbox…awesome thing is that slingbox’s website also seems to be down.

This is HORRIBLE!!! I get 30secs of low VHS quality football, then pausing and skipping to commercials. Glad to see I am not only one having the problem. They advertised we get gets in HD…HA! They should have known the video demand would be high and prepared better than this mess.

Not working here either .. There was no way to troubleshoot any of the problems that would occur until they launched today. I believe they’ll make good.
This many people signing in at once and that many streams has to kind of be like a denial of service attack. It’ll take time for network to be adjusted and all kinds of other techno babble.
I’m so not a fan of sony because of the whole breach thing, but this is a problem that I expected.
Good luck being patient you guys. For those who are super upset I think you totally have the right to be. Hopefully they’ll get it fixed soon.

I expected some bugs, and maybe a few disconnects here and there because this is brand new, but it has been much worse than I anticipated. Its a bunch of random jumping around from the game, to pieces of commercials that aired 20 mins previously. I’ll hang in there for another week and see if they clear this up, but as of now, I’m quite annoyed

I Can’t believe Sony Keeps allowing these things to happen why Sony Why i work for my money.
Quite honestly they could have prepared by offering some Preseason games for free before publicly launching a Paid Beta test of the system. This is a problem that COULD and SHOULD have been avoided.
This is the biggest disappointment! I will never forgive Sony for this disaster. Most of the games “can’t display the picture,”freezes, times out, or – when it finally does come on, the picture and sound quality is so poor that I’d rather watch paint dry. Sony – good luck getting the second payment out of me! I’m only going to pay for a product that works….and you’ve missed the mark big time!
After the eagles/rams game completely froze I attempted to restart the app now I can’t get any video to show. Horrible service. This is shameful.
I hope this is a glitch in the launch, but the video quality stinks of the DirectTV NFL Sunday Ticket on the PS3. Horrible resolution (compression related digital artifacts, image quality is worse than low-def TV), it keeps freezing for up to a couple of minutes at a time. This is unwatchable. I use the MLB (to say nothing of the Hulu and NetFlix apps) without problem on my PS3, so it aint my box nor my Internet connection. This is horrible.

No, you cant’t offer a service and it not work. Oh I can understand plumber, I’ll keep seeing the same turd in my face for 2 mins, it’ll go away for 15 secs, then come back for 25 mins. It’ll be okay. You’ll fix it right. I mean Im finding something else.
Just got off the phone with a Sony rep and they are blaming everything on DirecTV. They said that technicians are trying to fix the problem right now and there is nothing that can be done. Good thing is that we will be able to get refunded for this crap!
It comes on for a few nanoseconds, then freezes. I tried to change games….it says this video is not available now, try again and it is for 5 seconds. I have a wired connection so that is not the problem. All I can say is that we all better get a refund for all Sundays until they fix this…if they can that is. One would think they would have tested this out before releasing this to the public. This is absolutely ridiculous!!!
Just got off the phone with Sony support and was told they and direct tv are working on it, and that they are getting tons of calls. No info on a refund as no one from the higher ups has made that call yet. The guy on the phone said keep checking back throughout the day to see if the stream is fixed.
Latency issues are off the charts. Good luck getting my second payment, Sony. Not gonna happen at this rate

I initially got the same stuttering and “jumping around” video everyone else here has been speaking about. Now, ‘m getting “The video is not available at this time” message for all the games, and then the loading circle. If this isn’t fixed I’ll be out 84.95, but I will not be paying for the rest of the season. EPIC FAIL on both Sony and DirectTV for not getting this stuff straight before hand (you should’ve known this would be a high demand service).

For about five minutes I had a barely watchable turrible resolution feed of one game. Once I tried to switch games I got ‘video not available’ for bout ten minutes, now I get five second bits of digitally sloppy action punctuated by 1-4 minute freezes and jumps to crystal clear commercials. On hold with Sony. Better be refunds for the first week.
I don’t understand the lack of preparation. This is NFL Sunday Ticket, not Australian Rugby Ticket. They should have been expecting very high viewership and planned accordingly. They should have been stress testing their network like crazy for this opening weekend. It’s inconceivable to me that they were not expecting a huge number of subscribers and high traffic, especially on opening day. Did they get Sony execs in Japan who don’t watch American football to plan this roll out?
I better get a refund. This is craziness. I paid 250 for a PS3 that is going back to the store the $85 for this crap. If they don’t refund I will contest the charge thru CC.
I have been on hold with Direct TV waiting for the next available representative. iPhone time count: 29:15 and still going. Absolute nonsense. I have always had issues with DirectTV and thats why I dropped them in the first place. Now this. BS!!!! Glad I got up at 0630 (since I’m on Hawaii time) to watch a digital circle spin on a blue screen for three hours.

Like I said I glad i got nfl redzone as on my cable service as a backup. Directv just needs to fix their feeds to sony network. I glad i paid with PSN cards and not my credit card. They should have tested their app before lauching. Because on the video on the blog it look lagging to. Directv didnt wanted to do this feed anyway but its in a conract with the NFl to stream to a device.
This is bad. At a fraction of the co$t, MLBTV is musch better. I hope it is resolved soon. Getting really frustrated…

So I have the game on now. But it jumps from the current play to a commercial from five minutes ago back to the fade in from commercial back to the game. But I saw three consecutive plays. MIRACLE
