In a couple of hours we will be taking the stage down here in Los Angeles for our annual press conference at E3, and we can’t wait to share some of the exciting news that will be coming your way from PlayStation this year. While we can’t share specifics just yet, we thought it might be fun to highlight some of the biggest announcements from past E3s.
Obviously, there have been some pretty epic moments over the years, these are just a few of our favorites, but let us know what some of your favorite memories from previous E3s have been in the comment section below!

Just curious, but was any one else hoping Microsoft would get hacked in the middle of their press conference causing Xbox Live to be cut off for several months?

2006’s press conference was eaten by an, historically accurate, giant enemy crab.
I’m looking forward to seeing if Sony announces any major upgrades to the PSN, such as Cross-Game Chat, Voice Messages, etc. That’s the major announcement i’m looking for out of this E3 Conference. I know they will deliver on the games. We’ll just have to see, and if PSVita supports Trophies, Friends, and Chat i’ll be making the purchase when it releases.

playstation has come a far way from playstation to playstation slim(2) and ps3 and the network wow it is amazing what one group of people can do in an decade , Good job sony i will always be a loyal fan.

i just watched the E3 of microsoft and i noticed it had too much kinect related announcements.it didnt have enough games.i had to skip parts to go through.i hope sony will focus more on games than ps move or ps home.anyways,the funny fact about the E3 microsoft is that they brought “xbox home”.its such a pathetic attempt at copying sony.

I finally got into online gaming with Black Ops, and my eyes are now looking desperately for the next cool game!

7 minutes… should be interesting if they MAGICALLY talked about the new Final Fantasy Type 0 coming out for the PSP. I swear that game will NEED to be on the NGP, and i wouldn’t be surprised if was ONLY for the NGP.
While I agree that the Microsoft press conference was disappointing (well, not for me… I don’t own a 360), what are people expecting from the Sony show? Pretty certain it’s going to be biased towards the PSVita, which is understandable as it’s new hardware. My guess is that the base unit (without 3G) is going to be either $350 or $400. It’s something of a Sony tradition to overprice hardware at launch, and I don’t expect that to stop now.
Not too optimistic on new PS3 games, either. Maybe we’ll get a street date and gameplay footage from Last Guardian, but unless Sony have a super-secret new IP they’ve been keeping under their hats, it’s going to be sequels and HD remakes.
Nintendo’s press conference will be the one to watch (just like last year). They know how to make a splash, and we’re finally going to get a look a Project Cafe. Microsoft and Sony are just going through the motions at this point. Nintendo still have imagination and inspiration to spare.
i remember when is was addicted to crash bandicoot when i was i beat every single game in that series ahh good times:)

@gezuz11, DLC such as add ons and avatars don’t go away when PS+ expires.
I own both the ps3 and 360, i like how fanboys bash 360 all the time, after all 360 is the leading system, has been for a looooong time
Also wouldn’t mind United Front going on stage to maybe show upcoming ModNation DLC and tell us if the Arctic Theme is coming this week or next.

The announcement of quality exciting games is a given. What I’d like to hear about are even more great Move-enabled games.
I’d also like to hear more about the NGP, both about the games and what the system can do.
Also, I’m really hoping for some cards up Sony’s sleeves in terms of system software updates, PlayStation Network additions, or PlayStation Store enhancements.

Remember when the Wii came out and all it had was a bunch of crappy games? Same thing with the Move and Kinect…they’re just not at that point we’re all waiting for…and I bet Sony will far surpass Microsoft at E3

@90 and the wii STILL has 95% crappy games…all I give them is their main mario games metroidprime3 and dkcountry returns…and this is coming from a huge nintendo fan

@93 mostly the only games that don’t suck entirely and completely are Nintendo’s own game series. There are a few exceptions, very very VERY few.

Exactly…that’s why I’m not holding my breath for any spectacular Move or Kinect products…the only reason I have a Move is bc killzone is fun for a while that way.
