In a couple of hours we will be taking the stage down here in Los Angeles for our annual press conference at E3, and we can’t wait to share some of the exciting news that will be coming your way from PlayStation this year. While we can’t share specifics just yet, we thought it might be fun to highlight some of the biggest announcements from past E3s.
Obviously, there have been some pretty epic moments over the years, these are just a few of our favorites, but let us know what some of your favorite memories from previous E3s have been in the comment section below!
The 2009 conference was the best I ever saw.
We thought everything had already been leaked, only to be blown away.
The accuracy of the Move, the graphics of Uncharted 2 and GT5, and the megaton bomb of Agent Final Fantasy XIV exclusivity…

well, PlayStation Network will become the backbone of PlayStation as physical media becomes almost obsolete in the NGP & PS4 era. Specifically, the next 5 years.

Sony, please show us REAL hardcore games that we want to play. We’re ready for it.
People need to stop being so ignorant like we’re all still in Middle School, support what you support but why bring outside consumers/consoles into the mix. For one, people insulting the Kinect – it’s not a “rip off” it’s an idea that’s been used before and everything in life is a recycled concept by the age of even 16 you should know this. By that mentality even Sony has “ripped off” competitors such as Nintendo with the PlayStation Move, or has no one else realized it’s strikingly similar what the Wii is? Although I have to add that it was the Kinect, not the EyeToy, to break a Guinness World Record for “Fastest Selling Consumer Electronics Device” which is probably why, yes, it’s their main focus as of right now. I own both consoles so don’t tell me about how I’m a fanboy otherwise I wouldn’t be on this site – I’m a realist and I have a sane sense of logic, don’t make false statements about how you own a 360 just to combat my pointed statements either because we’ve seen it before and I can smell the liars. today.

The Xbox 360 is having a slow year some of you are also saying.. are you joking? Sequals to almost every major selling franchise the 360 has is being released this year, 360 is famous this generation for it’s numerous successful exclusives whereas even Sony game developers are complaining there aren’t enough SUCCESSFUL exclusives this generation ESPECIALLY in comparison to the PS2 Glory Days. So chill, you bought what you bought and it’s a beauty of a machine but stop pretending it’s amazing, it’s not even on the top of the food chain anymore for gaming and to be honest without it’s Blu-Ray sidejerk it’d be dead last, there are studies that have proved the main jerk behind it’s success is adults looking into it for being one of the cheapest Blu-Ray Players on the market

And really on the games.. look, Uncharted – Amazing, God of War – more Amazing.. but that’s it? Infamous is exaggerated greatly (opinionated of course) but really.. that’s it? People are still going on about Metal Gear, is it amazing? Surely, how old is it? You’re still bragging about a 3 year old game? Ask people about games 3 years old, won’t remember any because there’s a new hit every year to replace each so much as year old hit. And PSN I’m sorry to say, free as it may be, earns it’s “free status”. Know how much more content there is to Xbox Live? I cannot, cannot as in possibly, sift through all the content the Xbox Live Marketplace holds in 2 days.. I’ve sifted through all the content in the PSN store in less than an hour, that’s not good.
So sit back and play what you play, enjoy what you and myself personally have enjoyed since Jak and Daxter/Metal Gear/The Suffering/Silent Hill et cetera days have enjoyed but act accordingly, no reason to poke fun at a console not relating to what you are looking at online just due to some form of little schoolboy poke-fun nonsense and if you HAVE to.. absolutely HAVE to, be constructive and make valid points and be able to support links to said facts and not just run the lips to defend a machine because it’s close to your heart.. or get a job and purchase both like myself so you can have the best of both worlds. Oh and also.. when your ENTIRE live service network aka PSN can get hacked for a month+.. you really need to just be silent on the “Hoorah Xbox Live sucks” thing because there’s no combative statement to support anything after an embarrassment like that, Sony fix that up for real.
– Don’t be a coward and respond to this for the record because I’m telling you now, your points are invalid seeing as all I’ve stated is fact (mixed with the opinion on “Infamous”) and I won’t be back to check this forum, I don’t normally waste my time but the stupidity was unbearable. AND Uncharted 3 will be amazing from what I’ve seen online, I honestly believe it’ll take home Game of the Year with no problem and if it doesn’t then it’s an unbelievable shame.

Gazing into my crystal balls and using the supernatural powers I gained when the parcel I was carrying during my time as a bicycle courier, these are my predictions:
Kevin Butler will come onstage to defuse the whole PSN outage fiasco. He’ll make a ‘Sony Does Not Forgive, Sony Does Not Forget, Expect us!’ comment, or somesuch.
The PSVita (for that is its name) will be priced $350 for the base unit and $400 for 3G, or as Kaz Hirai will put it “$400 of your US American dollars.”
Lots of generic FPS rubbish, each completely indistinguishable from the last.
Sorcery will make an appearance again, even though we’ve not heard a word about it since… well, E3 2010.
Uncharted 3 footage in 3D!
Every PS1 series that ever got up to three parts will be remastered in HD and released in a 40-disc Bluray special edition with a steelbook locker. Available in Japan only.
Jenova Chen will play through the first level of Journey live onstage, and we’ll still be no wiser as to what you’re actually meant to do in the game.
Anonymous will hack the screens in the Shrine Auditorium half way through, and random images (Rick Astley, Mudkips, Goatse etc.) will appear as subliminals behind Kaz Hirai, thus making his spiel even more excruciating than usual.
Press conference will end with The Last Guardian, including a street date (even though it’ll get delayed.)

Yet again.. the Kinect is a rip off of the EyeToy but PlayStation Move is an original concept? I’m the only one who sees it and realizes it’s abit like Wii? And by bit I mean step-by-step copy? Look Kinect isn’t the first of it’s kind but they didn’t copy, it’s just been done before like every-other-thing on the planet, movies/music/etc. If you couldn’t put something into development if it looked like something else we’d have alot of nothing, still playing games from years ago and yet again.. difference is..
EyeToy – Could never find anyone else who played a PS2 that actually owned one as a kid.

Let’s see what Playstation has in store this year! Besides all the great exclusives, I would like to see some other major announcements, like cross-game voice chat or the PS4.
Got nothing against 3D, but i’ll be disappointed if sony really do announce God of War 4 for 3D. This tech should be used to enhance games, not as an excuse to rush out early sequels. ….kind felt like that’s what they did with KZ3.

Sony needs to have a talk with bioware over Mass Effect 3. They have voice recognition that can be applied to the PlayStation Eye and the PS Bluetooth Headset. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

I remember when the PS3 was announced. A game system with a dvd player?!?! OMG!!!!! I loved that whole PS2 era. Great and awesome memories that I will always cherish. Loving this generation of gaming though as well. How the heck can you not?

@116 in 2006 the ps3 came out and the price was released to the public it was 599 $ for 60gb abd 800$ for 80 gb. which was very high at the time and some people inthe crowd where shocked and one man had a heart attack. a few folks shatt themselves.. Really..
and also the usa recession hit . so it was not very good look for sony that night or that year out. but the ps3 was the console to have none the less . people where fighting and robbing stores for the ps3. no other console can say that not even nintendo back inthe 80’s. Thats nothing to be proud of but it show that sony can make quality and its stil the brand to have and to beat. it also sold 10 million units that year alone
Also to the guy that psp go is a fail. It is not its a very device i own one. Its also a rare device to have they wont be making any more. So if you dont pick on up soon you will nevr able to. it can hold up to 32gb.. 16 on its hdd

I’m excited for this year’s E3. I wonder what Sony has up their sleeves this time. They got a lot of stuff to show off but I’m interested in the NGP, Uncharted 3, and whatever news they throw at us. ^_^
I was only able to watch E3 for ’09 and ’10 through PSN but hopefully I’ll be able to see it live online or Home.
@ mcbuttz78 – It was $499 for 20gb and $599 for 80gb. Sony had a weak launch year IMO. If your talking about sales, its behind the 360 by a little and way behind the wii. The PSP Go has an internal flash memory, not a hard drive. Its memory card slot supports cards up to 32 gb. Internal flash (16gb) + memory card (32gb) = 48gb. Not trying to hate, I just figured you could use some correction.
