Fall of man was and still is the best fps ever. I’m kind of upset though to hear r2 coop won’t be back. That was prob the best coop ever. Keep with what works. There still needs to be big player count maps! I am worried about all the stuff you didn’t put in.

I might have considered it if Fall of Man had trophies. All the PS2 game re-release bundles have trophies added. Shame on you for not including it.

Guess you were right, there would be a way for me to catch up!!!!! Will definitly have to get this! Haven’t ever played the first two, but bundles have got me into games. I never played a God Of War title until the double pack came out, picked it up, and then part 3 and the first one on the PSP. Loved them!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here’s waiting for a Jak And Daxter bundle from the first PS2 ones, or a Ratchet And Clank bundle!!!!!!

LAZY! LAZY! LAZY!

I’m sorry, but if games like Flow (a game released very early in the PS3s life) can get a trophy patch so late, then you guys surely could spend time and resources on patching a retail game that is bound to sell more. You guys have no problem repackaging, and rereleasing the game at an inflated price, though.

I’m not even that big into trophies, but this type of mentality (as well as the 5 different pre-order bonuses) really sets me off as a loyal gamer. Consider 1 sale lost.

  It’s not lazy at all. The amount of resources to patch a AAA release, especially when you are talking massive cross-game trophy functionality, is much larger then something like a small downloadable title.
  
  If it was at all feasible, we would do it. It would significantly take from Resistance 3, therefore we will not do it.

Looks and sounds sweet! To bad it comes out during the Uncharted 3 beta though, as most of my time will be on that. But I will most likely end up getting this as the only one I currently own is the PSP one so I want to complete my collection.

And as for the trophy update to R1, while I wouldn’t mind it, it’s not the end of the world if it doesn’t get them. MGS4 still doesn’t got trophies and that game’s only 3 years old. R1 is what 5 or so years old? Don’t get me wrong R1 was great, but it’s sequel was way better in my opinion. Hope R3 is at least equal to how good R2 was.

I love Sony but I think its time for a change. They said every game released after 2009 has to contain trophies. Yet Resistance 1 and Assassins creed do not get trophies. Stop re-releasing games that don’t have trophies.

I can’t wait for Resistance 3! I think its probably going to be the BEST Resistance yet!!! Its looks like Insomniac Games is going to put their best work ever into this game. Glad to hear that others can catch up in the Resistance universe so that R3 will have a strong community built up for it!

Thats the same thing you said when when R2 was under development. I dont believe its that hard to patch in trophies.

  Correct. We did say it then. Because it was true then, and it is true now. Resistance 2 needed every person we had working on it for every day they could. The same is true for any game project. If we take someone off of that project, features we have planned for that game get CUT.

hopefully we can get more ppl to play R2…i tried to play the game yesterday and it was really hard to find competitive ranked matches…you guys need to fix that 10k kills trophy..i have been trying to get that one since day one…

Insomniac has been a 100% loyal developer to SONY and its fans. “LAZY” isn’t even in their vocabulary. They put a lot more polish and detail into their games than any third party developer out there. So just relax.

2 will always be the better game. The lack of player count in 3 is just to disappointing beyond words. I hate killing the same 8 players in games it gets tiresome. You can pick up on their patterns to quickly. I will miss the days of getting shot on yelling where was he lol

For all you complaining about trophies,. Your missing out on great number of games simply because it doesn’t have a virtual item that unlocks when you play it. Heavenly Sword comes to mind. I never played the first resistance so this appeals to me and seeming as I just bought my son a ps3 before this whole meltdown now would be the time to give him 2 and pick this up so we can enjoy res2.

Trophy level 16 and I don’t care about one single trophy I have obtained. # feels like it lacks the love of the community. With pc gaming and 64 vs 64 battles 8 vs 8 simply wont cut it anymore. Resistance 2 and its count was a big help in deciding to get a ps3 at the time. Along with monster hunter tri which was cancelled. Damn you capcom! I and many others will not be getting 3. Infamous 2 will give me my graphical powerhouse I earn for

I understand updating a game is a lot tougher a task than it seems.

Don’t forget – the DLC for R:FoM has been free on the store, so of course that’s also available.

Can you post in the blog about what features from each game have been kept for the third in the series? I’d like to read about how each game has learned from the last.

  Well, we cut a couple of skins. That’s about it. The Air Fuel Grenade and Taunt ability were both things we weren’t planning on having in the game, but we wanted to have some interesting pre-order items, so they got resurrected. :-)

That’s customer service for ya…How many other companies went back and trophy patched a game? Naughty Dog for Uncharted Drakes Fortune is one off the top of my head..Put a 2 man crew on it..there’s still lots of time before Resistance 3.

Guys get over it forget about trophies James Stevenson has already made it clear they are not adding trophies. Like he said they are busy with Resistance 3, Ratchet and Clank, and there new IP which will be multiplatform. Why would they go back to work on a launch title for ps3? LOL They have bigger more important projects to work on.

Those got trophy patches too… and there’s others. And I don’t think the time issue is an argument… work the patch when R3 is finished… heck, we’ve waited this long. Oh, and for the financial end of it… you should make plenty off this double pack, and if that’s not enough, there are plenty of us that will pay $5 for trophy patch DLC. Finally the code issue… good code should be written with updates in mind… if it’s well written code, implementation of updating the code should provide no difficulties. Don’t believe the hype people… the only reason they don’t patch is because they see no point while they’re making a profit and people keep buying the way it is.

Dont buy this game because R1 WILL NOT patch the trophy support. R2 and R3 support the trophy collectors. We absoutely are embrassed about R1’s trophy collector. Also, DON’T buy psp remastered games because they will do not support trophy collector. Don’t waste your money in the FUTURE!

I was on the fence about picking these up for a while. I’m not a HUGE shooter fan but I did rather enjoy the demo of the first Resistance. This seems like a great excuse to pick both games up and catch up on the story. 20 bucks a game with free DLC seems quite fair to me.

And sorry to hear you have to deal with people whining about trophies. I miss the good ol days when people played games for their amazing gameplay or interesting story. You know…actual content rather than some intangible number that’s only good for bragging rights. Trophies are a nice extra, but they shouldn’t define what you play or don’t play =)

My friend got R1 and enjoyed it and tolled me to get this game. Im a fan of insomniac (INSOMNIAC SPYRO IS THE BEST) and now seeing this pack with bonus stuff is even more convincing for me to get it :)

I’ve owned and played both at one point, don’t own them anymore. (Brothers destroyed RE2 and when I let someone borrow RE1 they sold it.) So this does interest me, but not at $40 for an experience I’ve already had. I will pick it up NEW, when it lowers, I’m in no rush.

So after Resistance 3, and the series concluded, are you ever going to make a FPS again or a new FPS series in the near future? I must say, Resistance may not be among the best-selling FPS games, but it’s up there with the best of the best , and I’d dare say it’s on the top 5, not a single step lower, in terms of atmosphere, story and (campaign) gameplay. We see so many studios releasing FPS games, and not many of them are received with the high critical acclaim the Resistance series has, nor they are nearly as good. I don’t want to name games, but in a market saturated with so many similar games in the genre, you guys have planted your flag.

Pretty good deal.

I looked them up, and if you buy them seperately you’d have to buy USED to even match the price (but you’d still pay more with double the tax on two purchases instead of one :P), and you also wouldn’t be getting any extra add-ons.

So yeah, pretty good deal.

Some of us just play games for the sake of it, trophy support isn’t really that important to me. It shouldn’t be a reason for you or anyone to prevent enjoying a good game..
