This package will be made available to all existing registered PlayStation Network and Qriocity users in North America (US and Canada), and will be made available shortly after we have fully restored the service. More specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live.
All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

For PSP owners, you will be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

- ModNation Racers
- Pursuit Force
- Killzone Liberation
- A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.
- 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.
- Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
- Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.
- Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.
- To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

I think they can all get it and use it on the same system Blackrose. When they open their accounts on your system they should be able to use the same thing you downloaded.. it works for me and my other downloads.. and my wife that has her own account and she is still able to play the games I have and downloaded but if they get their own system.. then it would not be easy.. they would have to use your account as a sub-account and download them that way but I think if they got a welcome back message they should be able to eventually download the games on theirs but I think it’s a deadline to do so. I’m not too specific.

I’m going to throw my own crap into the pile here. I’d say that giving us two out of five free games is a really nice thing to do considering the circumstances. However, those of us (myself not included) who do actually have all five games offered should be compensated in a different way. It just doesn’t seem fair to tell them to just download digital versions of games they have physical copies of, and then try their luck at reselling the physical discs. The resale value of those games will most likely now drop to zero. I’m not saying just send us a free check for x dollars, but there must be some kind of alternative right? The main point is that Sony fixed their issue, and now we have our FREE online matchmaking back.

i appreciate all you have done but can you go the extra Extra mile and give us more possibilities for free games like uncharted 1. it is the same value as infamous and lbp 1 . something of equal or less value . just different games. ppl are okay with the list you have gave but even more people as the majority want different games. please and thankyou

This “Welcome Back” package IS a good idea when you think about it, HOWEVER putting up 5 free games as ones 99.9% of PS3 users have already played is a bit of a bad marketing decision on Sony’s part. To us, this probably feels like the equivalent of Sony grabbing five random circa-2009 games out of the 5$ bargain bin at the local game shop and handing them off to the first three PS3 users they see, not really caring if those users already own or have played them. IF they perhaps held a poll, asking us to select 2 games out of say, 20 that, roughly, only 50% of PS3 users have played and then taking the top five voted and making THOSE games as the freebies, perhaps PS3 users would’ve been a bit happier, as they would’ve had at least SOME say in what games they’d be getting.
I’m not one to complain. The only game in this list I’ve played is LBP, and even though R&C isn’t available, I’m still open to trying inFamous, if only because I need some new games to play. With two free games I’ll have a reason to use my PS3 again. Lord knows, it’s been sitting in the back of my closet collecting dust since last christmas about, which is sad when I think about it. My PS2 gets more attention.

Yeah, I got a question though, Pat. Are the free games just available to download for 30 days and then won’t be available to download after those days are up, or are you telling me that we can download and play these games, just that they’ll only last for thirty days and that we COULD buy a membership to keep them forever? Because I don’t want to pay for some free 30-day trial games that I enjoyed but couldn’t keep forever. As you may well know, it’s hard for gamers like me to juggle bills and entertainment, unless they’re college kids or live with their parents.

I have a psp but when i log onto the psn network app thing, it says that the service is under maintenance. How can i get the games if the network is still down.. huh?!?!

thank you PlayStation for the games and free music i will enjoy them but its still not enough if my identity gets used in the future. this will cause me to spend more of my earning to fix what should have never happened in the first place. Is there something in place for identity thief protection supported by Sony or Sony PlayStation ??

@RichieAppel We’re not asking Sony to personally finance our physical wallets. To credit out accounts wouldn’t bankrupt them; it would be giving us a choice as to what type of free items we want. Some of us don’t care about Home. It’s a glorified chat room where a bunch of children run around and try to act clique-ish. A lot of us have already purchased, played, beaten and returned the games we’re getting offered for free. It’s not a horrible thing to request a simple kind gesture from a company that DOES owe it’s customer base something, despite your claims that it doesn’t. We’re not being greedy; we’re fighting for a chance at choice, like all good Americans.
& yeah…..when the Eff is the PS Store going back up? I don’t really care if we DO get a choice in the matter of free DLC; you guys are holding me back w/ MK Online & the new Fallout: New Vegas DLC. Blasphemers!
In my opinion I think Sony has done a very poor job of keeping us updated on the status of the PSN while it was down. I don’t really expect an answer to the following question because of Sony’s poor communication skills but I ask none the less.
Sony, my PSP 1000 firmware is on version 3.10 because the memory stick that I got with it when it was new was only 32 mb and I have not been able to update it. I am unable to log in to PSN on it because of the firmware being out of date. In my case I cannot download the PSP games that are part of the welcome back program. So my question is this: will the PSP list of four games be on the PSN store on the PS3? If not I will have to buy a $20 memory card just to get your free games.
Why is the strore still “under going maitenance” its been like that for 8 days… wtf
@coper169 To update your psp you can just follow the steps in this link http://us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/psp/pc/index.htm and the memory problem is easily fixed by making a file on your computer to store you saved game data so you can remove it from your memory card for the update and just put it back after your done.

In other words, you have 30 days to download your two games of choice (provided they actually let us know when the Store will be up so that we all don’t miss the 30 day limit). After those 30 days, the games can no longer be downloaded. However, if you do download your two games during that time, you can then keep said games FOREVER.

it all seems like sony just wanted to show the world that theyll give stuff away cause they made a mistake but they dont want to spend money in doing it.

I have a question regarding the PS Plus service. Let’s say I download an avatar, will I be able to keep that avatar or will it be gone after the 30 days of service have expired?

@6712 jordensei: If you read the article it says that the customer appreciation program will go into effect AFTER the store is safe enough for them to put online. It doesn’t say anywhere that you can download them right now. Be patient, and maybe read what the article says before you start complaining again.

I read the store would be up on the 24th. Hopefully they will keep that timeline. I don’t expect much from Sony when it comes to Dates. Don’t forget the 2 missed timelines from this whole mess. Not to mention the 4 release dates they didn’t keep for GT5

So check his channel to get Satisfied and get more information. You get more information than anywhere else almost. P.S Sony If you are reading this answer this. Is May 24 2011 the date confirmed The Store Will be up And Running Or Will it be Friday May 27 2011.

I think rather than making us choose between 5 titles many of us already have it would have been better if you had just added funds to our Playstation store wallet to use as we wished. (maybe you could make it an option 2 of these five tites or $20.00 in your pss wallet) …Guess I was barking up the wrong tree trying to get sony to do something that makes sense and wouldn’t piss anybody off. I’m not in customer relations but I know you don’t piss off your best customers……the ones who already own all five of those games I would assume are among them.
