Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!

Others PSN User and myself are glad to be back online. Those who switched from
PS3 to XBox basically swithced from free to PAY TO PLAY(PTP).
I think we PSN users should get Escalation MAP Pack for COD Balck Ops for free.
And Myself with other PSN users would like Cross-Game Chatiing. It would be very conveinient
for all users.

On April 20, 2011, I had a depressed look on my face due to a little error message at the top left hand corner of the screen. Over the next three weeks, I had many mixed feelings about this devastating outage of the Sony Playstation Network and Qriocity services. Then on May 14, 2011, I had the joy as to play online with my friends. As I am typing this…. of all the things I am thinking, I am thinking that of these 24 days of the outage, I thought, as many other customers, I was thinking about selling my PS3. Now I am glad to say that I’m embarrassed to have even thought that. Since I first bought my first Sony gaming console, The Playstation 1, I have loved every moment of being a part of a large community of consumers. As I have said before, Sony, no matter how many customers you have lost because of this outage, you still have dedicated customers like me. Thanks Sony

Cool that it’s back up. Unfortunately Sony can see how much money I used to spend, and think that I now also own an XB360 because of this outage so I will definitely be spending less on their network now. The Call of the Dead zombie map is fricking awesome. Giving that away to PSN members would go a little way of saying they’re sorry.
