The good folks at IGN (Greg Miller in particular) seem to be inordinately preoccupied with the fact that I have exactly zero Platinum Trophies to my name. They’re constantly giving me advice on which games have the most attainable prize: Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection, the upcoming Wolverine, and… um… Hannah Montana: The Movie.
Now while I’d love to have a Platinum under my belt, I’m still a respectable Level 8. So my question to you is:

For the record, Yoon also gives me stick about my Platinum goose egg. Last time I checked, I believe he had *11* of them. Crazy!
Not that anyone cares, but here is my two platinum trophies:

I have one from Fallout but I kind of got that one by accident while playing through the game: pretty thoroughly I guess.
But I’m not too into the trophies. I’d rather get the in game rewards we used to get before trophies/achivements: you know, when you used to collect all the hidden packages and get an arsenal instead of a crappy chopper and a trophy.

I have 8 Platinum and I’m missing only 2 bronzes for my KZ2 Platinum.
I’m missing 3 assassination ribbons, 3 air support ribbons and 4 defensive ribbons. Those are pretty annoying to get.

Yeah those are hard to get. Just keep trying. I have done all of the online and only need a few single player ones to finish KZ2.
Trophies are for guys with no lives, and people who miss their Xbox360.
Well I just got my 8th Platinum
I just play the games, and have fun. If I can get trophies along the way, all the better.
They are nifty, but are not vital to my life as a gamer.
How about the overwhelmingly negative reaction to the Patapon 2 news?
Or are you going to sweep that under the rug, just like you do with every other bit of negative news?
I have 7 Platinum trophies and i’m working on my PSN game trophies.
Currently, I have one right now and that was grabbed a while back with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. I might get the one in Quantum of Solace; I only have eight left to go. After that, maybe I’ll grab the one in Resistance 2.
As for friends, I have some on my list that have as many as 9 (might be more at this point).

Or just for people who want to get everything in the games they own. That MGS4 didn’t have trophies didn’t stop me to get all emblems and that R&C didn’t have trophies didn’t stop me to get all Skill Points.
I love how people just bring back the “have a life” argument. I work 40 hours a week in a office, have classes at college from 6pm to 11pm, live with my gf and go out with friends every weekends, yet I have 8 Platinum. Please tell me what I need to do more to have a life. Kids are the only thing not in my life.

Burnout Paradise was my first and only Platinum. I was playing the game a lot when the trophy patch went live, and had the Platinum within 48 hours.
I have 6 platinums. I can’t believe half the voters have zero. What are you doing on here? Go work on your trophies.
i’d like to see a game like everquest come out for the ps3, i mean it’s not like we don’t have the technology to do it. you could even add trophies to it to make it even more fun.
The most I can boast about is 72% complete in LittleBigPlanet, though I only need three more of the original trophies.

I only do them if I want to play most of the tasks anyway. Most of all I don’t like some types of MP-Trophys (plus I don’t think many people get all of them without boosting anyway).

I have platinums for Uncharted and LBP… I don’t have a USB camera (yet), so no Burnout Platinum to me… I was tryin’ to get it on GTAIV, but I don’t think I’ll be able to get some of the multiplayer trophies, mainly due to lack of time… Also, my dream is to get the Platinum for Warhawk! That one is tough! I’m already proud to have 66% completion, though…
I almost have my 8th platinum, and I’m close with a few other game: RE5, Rock Band 2 and Bioshock.
I have 1 guy on my friend’s list with 22 platinums and over 1400 trophies…now that’s crazy!

I have ZERO Platinums but I dont mind the whole trophy thing. I get so damn bored playing the same game over and over. And Life tends to get in the way.

I honestly do not like trophies and do not get all the interest behind them… all I care about is that a game is fun to play… and not beatable within 6 hours >.>. Sadly there are quite a of PS3 games that fall into the latter category.

The point is to play the game. Some people like to complete games. On the PS1, I was making sure to get everything done in all my games. Same for the PS2. I wasn’t getting ANY reward, but still, I liked to get everything in games. Now, trophies are just a check list of things to be done in my games. But I’ll still play a game even if it doesn’t have trophies, like Eternal Sonata. And you can also use them to track where your friends are in a game, like for RE5, I was checking my friends trophy list to know where they were at without having to ask.

I have 3 Platinum Trophies with the Godfather II, Fallout 3 and Legends of Wrestlemania. Trying for the longet time to get to 10k kill count on Resistance 2.
ok i get where you’re coming from but i still think it’s more fun to just play the game without having to worry about collecting trophies along the way.
two of my friends platinum’d monsters vs. aliens. needless to say, i deleted those trophy *****s off my godly friend list. if i catch someone playing hannah montana just for trophies, i will personally assassinate them ^_^
i still think they should make a game like everquest for the ps3.

Im one of those people who give up 80% through a platinum.Im close to getting the Burnout one but alas no camera so no platinum.
Im surprised i gave up in fallout 3.I only have the hack 50 computers,find all bobbleheads and level trophies left.
