Well…after staying up way too late last night playing, I’m here to say that Warhawk is LIVE and available on the PlayStation Store AND at retailers across the country!
There were some crazy intense games last night and it was great to see players having a great time, earning medals and ranking up. I did notice that on the boards some of you guys have mentioned that your stats weren’t posting after you completed your games. First off…apologies for this, it’s never good to have a medal that you fought for not be credited to your player!
That said, we should all expect some occasional and isolated stats interruptions this week as we bring all the players from the US and Europe online…both for the PlayStation Store version and for the Blu-ray version. We’ll keep these interruptions to an absolute minimum as we would rather not drowned in a tsunami of hate mail.
On another note, we had a great battle yesterday with IGN. They had some of their staffers and some lucky applicants battle our Warhawk team here at Incognito. Needless to say, we had a wicked good time. There were some truly amazing players so to all of you that are going online with Warhawk, be on the look out for Jag71, OneAdam12, Arbole, xT3RMINATORx, WillKills…all these guys are crazy good.
I was able to record some video of our play session for your viewing pleasure – it a bit shaky-cam, not Blair Witch shaky but, well you’ll see. I got to capture, on video, one of the very few times that our best pilot, “Gergination” has ever made a mistake piloting the Warhawk. He won’t be pleased about me posting this vid but it’s entertaining nonetheless.
I’d also like to extend a request for feedback regarding the game setups that we’re currently running on the Warhawk Sever Cluster. Do you like the configurations? Do you want to see more CTF? More ZONE? Higher point limits? Etc. Let us know.
I spent some time last night listening to people on VOIP and it seems like some of the games were ending too quickly so we’ll look to increase the point limits so the games last a bit longer.

They need to have Split Screen allowed on the official servers!!!
I have a question about the Blu-Ray version of Warhawk. If you purchase the retail version of Warhawk, you get a Jabra BT125 if I’m not mistaken. Is that a limited time offer, or is that there to stay, because if not, then I may have to plan buying it sooner than I thought. If anyone could please answer this question for me, I will greatly appreciate it.

No they don’t. Think before you speak please. Official servers are ranked. And people use split screen for cheating purposes.

From what i heard its not for a limited time but nothing is gauranteed…
stennex: I agree. Although the game is called Warhawk, flying/fighting those things can be a huge pain in the ass. Once you finally get into the sky without being blown to bits the match ends because it only lasts about 10-15 minutes. I love the ground combat with vehicles and find it so much more enjoyable blowing people up with a tank than flying around missing half your targets.
Doesn’t really feel like it was worth spending £20 on, but if some things were updated/changed then this game would be worth every penny.
I just took my PS3 back home with me after downloading Warhawk at a friends, (I don’t have high-speed internet at my house), only to find out that I can’t play offline without signing into my PSN account. This is absolutly infuriating… I love the game, but think that players should be able to play offline without having to be online… hense that’s why it’s called offline. This should be fixed ASAP; as much as I like the game I wish I could get my money back, since I’ll only be able to play it at most once a week.

Hey guys. I’m in a bit of a desperate situation, and I was hoping that this was the best place for me to go to ask the question. The “Contact Us” page kept saying “Your remarks is invalid”….I have no idea why, so sorry for being off-topic-ish.
Anyway, I was in process of switching credit cards that were attached to my PSN account to buy Warhawk. The Mastercard that I switched to was one that I’ve used before to buy things from the network in addition to my main Visa check card. I’ve successfully added and switched cards to buy things from the network. Both worked in the past, so I obviously had input the correct information. Only this time, I received the message “Credit card info not valid”. My information was 100% correct. Just like the previous times that I’ve used it to add funds. So then I just decided to re-enter my Visa check card that was already entered into my account in the first place…I bet you can guess what happened next.
I’m a big online banker….I pay everything online…use Steam to buy stuff…got Oblivion from Direct2Drive….I know how to enter in correct credit card info.
I got a bit frusterated and decided to Google the problem. I felt a bit of relief when I saw that there were multiple pages with loads more people with the same problem that seemed to pop up in here recently. Everyone who said that they called SCEA about it said that they were told it wasn’t a problem with the PSN, but user error. I respectfully disagree, and I humbly ask that this situation gets taken seriously and looked at. I truly think there is a problem….or there has been some change with the input process and I missed the memo.
If you guys can shed any light on this, I’d highly appreciate it. I’m a Sony supporter through-and-through…..but just a little anxious to get my hands on Warhawk from the PSN.

Also, why have the option to NOT allow split-screen? Seems pointless. Why can’t all servers have split-screen (including official ones) ?

Still, great game! Glad I didn’t wait and spend £40 on boxed version. Would have felt a bit much (as I have a half-decent headset already).
Thanks Gadburry, i must have missed it. I have abuddy with a 56″ Toshiba HDTV for 400.00 USD if you are interested. i am in Washington State. Maybe if you are close you can fix the resolution problem with a new HDTV:) Other wise good luck!!

It looks like SCEA & SCEE need to put some more servers in place, all the official servers are full tonight, and I want to improve my rank :(
Also send everyone e-mails on how to get our missing awards and points that we achieved. I really wouldnt like to feel that I wasted all that time into getting those 4 warhawk wings and not having them.(knowing that I’ll need 96 more)
I think we need more SCEA servers theyre always full, and when there is a spot open 9/10 times the game wont allow me to join.
also badges that ive earned dont show up under my rewards.
I see others on this post have the same issue I’m having and so I thought I’d add my voice to the mix. I’ve exchanged a few emails with Sony Corporate regarding the download version ONLY working with the account it’s purchased with. I’ve received no satisfaction. The email was just copy/paste FAQ about what is and isn’t allowed…very disappointing since I’ve already purchased it. I already know what’s not allowed now!!! It would have been nice to know that ahead of time. Since my son wants to play on ranked servers as well (he’s actually really good), stats mean nothing. They’ve done a great job at tracking everything, giving out ribbons, promotions, medals, awards, etc and all of that is just plain meaningless now to me and my son. I though buying the download would save me money because of packaging/distribution costs being eliminated, but what it really meant, was pay less = get less. I don’t see why it can’t just be tied to the PS3 instead of the account. Based on previous purchased with the PSN, I had no reason to expect that my children would not be able to play a game that I purchased on the PSN. Really bad customer service if this isn’t resolved.

Gadbury, what I meant with loose motion sense controllers has nothing to do with the aim speed. It’s just not precise enough, no matter what your sense is on. I play alot better with the analog sticks, but I wish motion sensing worked better because it’s alot more fun.

On another note. this blog entry is for all those out there that have not yet purchased Warhawk. You need to get up right now, stop reading this and go pick it up. I was in the beta and loved and now that i have the game i love it even more. I went all out and purchased the blu ray version and it was well worth the wait. this is non stop fun.
All the talk about your PS3’s freezing, well that hasn’t happened to me yet and mine runs great. I use wireless and have a NAT type 3 connection and can still communicate too. I love you SONY and thanks incognito for a great game.

I herd that sony as been slowly tweeking their controlers for better sensetivety it’s up to you but if the controller you have is from launch then maybe try getting a new one
add more ZONE servers please. best mode because you actually have a mission than ctf-chasing…, team deathmatch-repetitive…
i dont know if this is a glitch or not, but it takes a good 30 mins for me to join a SCEA server. the servers keep saying theyre full… when i join a 32/32 server it says the server is full right away, but when i join like a 30/32 server it takes like 10 seconds for joining… and then it just says game is full. please fix this issue and lots of people on the psforums are mentioning this same problem.

Today I was playing and recieved some badges and medals, however, when I went into the Customization screen, my game froze on me. When I restarted the game, the badges and medals were awarded and I could customize. Apparently the servers are not updating the badges and medals fast enough for people to enjoy the benefits on-the-fly. I’m not sure if I’m the first to report this but this would be a great fix to the Warhawk system.
I LOVE this game. It is the best game I’ve played in a long time, especially, if I dare say, because I think the reality of it far surpassed my expectations. My only qualm is how hard it is to find a server that will allow split screen play…. It’s no fun sitting on the couch by myself playing against a bunch of random people on the internet. I like to play with my friends right beside me, but it seems like we spend much more time trying to find a game than we do playing!
Dylan, I have been a champion for your game but this stat tracking issue has to be fixed. Are my stats ever going to update or are they lost forever? If that’s the case I could live with that but getting no feedback from Incog is disrespectful at best. During the beta we got lots of good feedback but now that you and Sony already have our money we don’t hear a peep. I love your game but until this issue is resolved it’s too frustrating to play.
Warhawk is one of the best multiplayer games I’ve played yet. Just gotta fix up the server, clan, and stat issues. Plus we need far more SCEA servers. At higher ranks too. There’s just not enough. Longer lasting games would be nice too.
Hope to see some free downloadable content in the near future. More environment types would be great. How about a rainy thunderstorm level, a winter base snow map (with falling snow), a sandy desert map, and an evergreen forest map (like the rockie mountain area in Canada with snow capped mountains, forests, streams, lakes, waterfalls, etc).
Pay downloadable content is all well and good, but it just splinters the games userbase since more than half won’t pay for it, and therefore the community that you can play against rapidly shrinks.
More character gear to customize our guys with would be great too.

Warhawk is the best multi-player game ever. I just hope to see more and better servers in the future especially with the ranking caps on the games. Great game more maps in the future would be a great bonus as well.
i bought the retail version of warhawk so i could get the headset but i cant use it because i have a type 3 nat does anyone know what i could do to fix that

I’m enjoying Warhawk quite a bit. My only complaint is about how incredibly hard it is to get into an official server. I spent 15 minutes trying to join and no matter what the status in the server browser said, every SCEA server was always full.
Stats are messed up:
1) I didn’t have some badges which was given me righ in game, for example Air ine kill and knife kill
2) More importantly I have rank Airman 1 class even though I should be only Airman. Got this rank after few games with like 60 points only.
Othervise best MP game ever!
Sony this game is awesome, but we need more official servers! This falls under a good problem, cause people are enjoying this game enough to be on them allllll the time. =]

I hope you guys are working on that game full bug. It says game full when the game isnt full. And i cant wait to see what you guys add to this game. There is so much stuff goin through my head. Like helicopters should be added. Kinda like the one from battlefield 2 where you can transport like 6 guys in it. And an eject button in the warhawks, with parachutes should definately be added. I will post some more ideas later.
I think you should take the Demolition game from Socom and add it to Warhawk. But the only way it would work with respawn, is if it took awhile for you to respawn. like maybe 20 seconds to respawn. And in Socom it takes the bomb 20 seconds to detonate, to i think that would be good. I think eventually you should take the kit idea from battlefield 2. Like a sniper kit, a special ops kit, a demolitions kit. Add a shotgun to the game. PLEASE!!!
I would love if there was a motorcycle in the game. And to add to that futuristic feel, it should be able to hover over water. I would also love to see some boats in the game, cause there is alot of pretty water, lol. You should also be able to swim. But for this to work, you would have to have beaches, or just lower the ground so the troops that can swim and the boats could come to the shore.

I couldn’t agree more with all of NoSkillz187 ideas. [Found in posts #: 285, 286 and 287] for each and everyone of them will increase the fun factor of the game.
Now here is a littler idea that popped in my head after reading Nokills parachute suggestion.
To make it so in order to be deployed off the aircraft, the player has to press a small sequence of buttons, randomly selected by the system, for each and every warhawk we enter, so no two warhawks in a given game will have the same ejection sequence.
—The ejection sequence would be displayed on the screen after having entered a warhawk—-
—The ejection option would become active once a locked missile has been deployed—
I bring this idea out to you all, because I think it would add to the realism of flying simulation. I’m sure that in real life, ejecting off of an aircraft requires some several small steps. Like lets say, lifting up a plastic protection cover, flipping up a small switch and pressing a button.
Plus I think it would be cool to somewhat feel the thrill of the moment, that war pilots feel when being chased by missile. All the thoughts that come to mind. The what to do. The ejecting off.
What do you guys think?
Is there a glitch with stat saving? I got the game today and have been playing for a long time but when I check my stats under my profile it states that I dont’ have any stats and my game hours are still zero.

Grabbed the game as soon as possible and have been playing all weekend, well into the early hours.
I can’t find the forums link on the Warhawk site so I’d like to leave a few thoughts here instead.
In a nutshell, I think Warhawk is a good multiplayer game but, to be honest, I don’t think its a *great* multiplayer game. I spent a lot of time PC gaming online with Wolfenstein, Battlefield etc. In my opinion Battlefield 2 is the pinnacle of on line FPS/war scene gaming and should be inspiration for a number of improvements to Warhawk.
My biggest issue with the game is that there is not enough variety in gameplay. While I’ve read reviews that say everything is very balanced and even a foot soldier with the pistol could eventually take out a tank (or a partially damaged one) it doesn’t seem to work that way in the games I’ve been on. Most people are in Warhawks or AA sites. Few people use the jeeps, fewer use tanks and there is hardly any man-to-man ground combat, except where there is a rush for a flag or base.
I think there are many improvements which would help play diversity, such as more frequent placing of ground mines. There are just not enough.
What about an engineer/demolition pack so you can blow up bridges and/or repair them?
The sniper rifle is just next to useless. You cannot crouch or lay prone to create a more discreet sniping position; the maps are so huge that the rifle is largely ineffective anyway – targets are often far too far away and moving too fast; the effect of barrel distortion on a high zoom setting is annoying and distracting (this is a future with hovering jets yet technology isn’t up to the stage where quality optics can be produced?).
Maps with water but no combat vessels or even transport boats? Why?
There are a couple of other quirks which I would like addressed and I hope that these would be fairly easily addressed in a patch.
First, server lists. Can we please have an option to stop loading the list? Once you attempt to connect to a server only to be kicked out because a server is full, you have to wait for the whole list to re-load before you can try to get in on another server. This is incredibly frustrating.
Second, where is the Warhawk passenger eject option! 2 guys make a run for a Warhawk and you jump in only to be relegated to passenger position where all you can do is pan the camera around, wait for your pilot to land so you can get out or commit suicide through the menu? That is ridiculous!
Finally, @ Darth Jas #257 – you can get taken out with one shot from a ground launched SAM missile if your Warhawk has already sustained some damage. It normally takes 2 shots to take down a fully repaired bird. And the SAMs do home in – hold down L1 and keep tracking your target to the beep!
Summary: 7.5 out of 10.
SevenFactors, thats a pretty good idea. Id rather just be able to eject with the press of a button, nice and simple though. But its still a good idea. And i know you guys will be adding weapons in the future. So i suggest a weapon swapping feature. Just hold L2, go to your weapon and press another button to swap it with another.
And there should also be a squad feature, in this game. Similar to Resistance and Battlefield, where you can join a squad and have open mic, with the people in your squad and dont have to worry about people interrupting you when you talk. Some people might disagree, but i think when you are not in a squad and are able to talk to everyone, only one person at a time should be able to talk. Similar to Socom. And if you do this, you should really be able to see whoever is talking, name at the top or bottom corner of the screen. I hope the developers are reading this.
But first and foremost, get rid of the game is full bug. it is really annoying.
Can we please please please please please, have some kind of party group feature added. Me and my friends want to play ranked games together on the same team.
But currently (especially with the current server shortfall) this is really difficult to do as one of us has to join a server, the others then join (if there is space) and then it can take several games before there is the required space for us all to switch to the same side as each.
Also a clan lobby where we can chat (voice and text) outside of games would make the experience alot better rather then having to call each other on the phone to work out what we are doing!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, there should definately be an ingame message feature. It would be cool to have an ingame message board where we could talk to you directly.
In game message system would be awsome, resistance has a lobby message system(which should be added to when your actually playing).
Warhawk is a rally good game when you can actually get into a ranked room. Seriously you need to add more dedicated servers, at the moment its taking me 20 mins to find one.
You also need to add chat channels or something so i can speak on a open mic. It gets really annoying pressing L3 every time you want to say something. I know there was a few issues in the BETA with babies screaming in the background, but that can easily be sorted out by just adding a mute feature.
I think the game is good, but needs some quick easy improvements to make it “GRRRREEAAT” as Tony the Tiger would say.
Here’s a brief consolidated Warhawk update request from above:
1. Add troop transport capability to aircraft
2. Allow parties to be created
3. Create in game text messaging system
4. Add Keyboard & Mouse Support
5. Increase font size or allow user to adjust, because player call signs are too small
6. Audio voice quality is horrid, even with high quality headsets the sampling and bandwidth given for voice is too low, as a result everyone sounds lifeless.
7. When people use headsets, report who the user is so we know who is talking, because voice quality is so low, it is impossible to identify the voice with the person.
8. Add more ranked servers
9. When a user creates a ranked server, allow them to join the games on that server, that will encourage people to make ranked games.
10. Allow people to play split screen coop games in ranked games. This increases the fun factor.
11. Provide TOW missiles to ground troops & increase the number of mines around the map.
12. Reduce the killing power of the knife, allow it to commit one hit kill, but only from behind for example.
13. Fix the distortion in the sniper rifle reticle. Military sniper grade optics don’t have that now, why would they degrade in quality in the future?
14. Create ejection capability in the Warhawk
15. Fix the “Server Full” error, where the are available positions in a ranked game, but when you try and join it reports that it is full.
16. User should be able to adjust the size of the map in the top right corner.
17.Stop having the server list update every time you look at it, this is an annoyance, especially with the number of times you have to go to it due to the server errors of “game full”
Hope the guys at Icognito who are looking at updates are able to take these into account, they’re common requests.

I love this game. I’m a Warhawk Flying MOFO. However, there are problems, but I choice to ignore them and just have fun.
1. Sniper Rifle scope? Where is it?
2. If the game is full why does it show its not?
3. How about music thourghout the fight? It’s some pretty good scores. I would like to hear them play out.
That’s it. Dog-fighting is in my blood. I guess I shold change my name to Micheal Vick…lol.

10) Split screen in ranked games would be totally unfair and dumb for several obvious reasons, I think incognito made a good choice.
11) TOW missiles for ground troops? that’s a pretty bad idea for one, and 2 they are already kind of a cheap weapon for aircrafts which is why the amount a user can carry was decreased from 2 to 1 since the beta (good decision).
12) The knife is already hard to kill people with because all they have to do is run backwords to get away from you, so again, bad idea.
13) First off..what distortion, the orb affect? So what, it’s game and it’s a nice affect, better than a plane scope like R:FOM’s.
14) I agree with this one, however what about when the user is out of the designated part of the map for ground troops? I supposed they’d die.
15) I agree.
16) Hit Select. Try playing around with the game a bit before making suggestions that are already a part of the game.
@ Incognito: FIX THE STATS ISSUE! I played for 6 hours yesterday and not one of the games i played counted, and today, the games i play still aren’t counting, it’s very discouraging to play a ranked game knowing it’s not counting for anything.
Can we please have an update here on the blog as to of what is going on, what you’re doing, are you working on this issue? if so, can we expect a fix soon?

Why did i purchase a game i cant play. I spent the last 30 min trying to get into a ranked game, there is not party support, and it keeps saying game full, when clearly its not. I HATE have to press the L3 to talk all the time, can we please have a server option to turn this feature on or off to have an open mic. If i cant get into sergver that have spaces here int eh near future this game is def going back to the store.
