As most of you know, last Wednesday we announced a new exclusive game development deal with NCSoft, the company behind big MMO games like Lineage and City of Heroes. The guys at Sony are busy right now they just came off of Sony game days, E3, Sony game days in Tokyo and the Tokyo game show is coming up. Not to mention all of the great games coming out that we are about to get and some new hardware.
It’s no wonder we complain so much look at how spoiled we are.

I’m holding out on the cable right now. I’m going to buy a new HDTV this weekend that has HDMI inputs. That way I’ll just buy an HDMI cable. Do you know anything about the contrast ratio on HDTV’s? I’m still sorta confused how does the contrast ratio numbers affect the experience you get from the TV.

If I may..
The greater the ratio, the better. I think a good one is around 8k or 10k to 1 ratio.
And do not buy a plasma. It has better definition but I dont trust that burn thing the plasma tvs get.

The higher the conrtast ratios will give you a better picture just like with movies.

Sony is doing what they can, remember this is still new to them (the whole PSN thing) this time next year it will probably be close to as robust as Live but a lot more user friendly (Home will be in place, the marketplace is nicer, album downloads will be ready, etc…). I know in this respect Sony is behind the curve, but does anyone remember the first 2 years of Live? OUCH!
Also the NCSoft news is great, I play Dungeon Runners and Guild Wars and having them on the PS3 is exciting to think about (plus Tabula Rasa and Aion)…too bad the interviewer had the personality of a block of wood.
Lastly…seriously, WTF is up with this First Second, Third crap? If you have a comment, add a comment, what kind of self satisfaction can anyone get from typing the word First? LAME is all I can think of, this video sums it up…

The PS3 keyboard from Logitech works nice though I am sure that a better one will come out soon. To bad we dont have alot of options on wireless PS3 keyboards.
As far as headsets go I have been using the Motorola one that I bought when I got my Sony Ericcson phone it works great. Got it at a Cingular/Now the new AT&T store for around $50.00.

To answer your question yes the xbox360 will have MMO’s and as a matter of fact the devloper for City of Heros is making Marvel Universe as an xbox360 exculsive. And there are others on the way for the xbox360 as well. I’m a fanboy of games and i have both systems so to Mircosoft and Sony bring them i will play them :-). More games are always good news even more so like a company like NCsoft that usually just does PC titles it good to see NCsoft bring there games to consoles.

Maybe if Sony would give us some GOOD content on PSN we wouldn´t be here complaining about lack of demos, lack of firmware updates and the absurd differences between “price drop” and “clearance”. Let´s just face it, we are kind of BORED with what we have right now. We just need GOOD and constant updates from PSN and announcements from Sony with specific dates about firmwares updates and other important news, so we know WHEN exactly to expect things. Im sure Sony will deliver that someday. I wish it could be soon because not many of the people here are showing any patience.

psn network will have good content soon. the problem is that the consumer, me, wants that good content now. i want sony’s library to be on par with xbox live, which I think is setting the standard.
Europe got there PSN update today. No Heavenly Sword, Mabey we will get it bofore the end of the day.
Something for Sony to take note of. The PS3 has outsold the xbox 360 the week right after the price drop of the 60GB model. The PS3 managed to sell 41,005, while 35,084 Xbox 360’s were sold at the same time frame. This shows that people want a lower price. I hope Sony has found that out by now. Good luck with your hardware strategy Sony. Don’t disappoint.

yeah, i agree with most of u all… This is the same timing when they release the Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo before the game was released and it was a sucess… why SONY? WHY? WHY cant we have our HEAVENLY SWORD DEMO NOW? u guys might be aiming for a good game release by releasing the demo only weeks before the game, but complaining customers should be a higher priority guyz… please! Heavenly Sword!
Now would be a good time for the Heavenly sword demo purely becuz more people will buy a PS3 knowing that they can get a taste of Heavenly sword. I dunno, i feel like having a demo as soon as its ready would be the smart strategy instead of waiting til closer to the release date. Oh well, i’m bored of asking for stuff. Wow! We really are impatient aren’t we?
How did we all survive back in the days of yore? When I was much younger great games came out months apart. We didn’t have demos. We didn’t have video game trailers or interviews to read online. In this information age we have all become so impatient with things. Is it right? I’m subject to this quicksilver speed of information too. I’m here at this blog each day and have my list of websites I have to get to daily or my world spins backward and out of control.
What did we use to do with our time prior to all this? Did we play ball with our friends at the park? Did we skate, bike, camp, date, make time for friends? Did we read or perhaps educate ourselves for the future. Did we get involved in community attempting to make a difference in this world? Did we have fun then? Were we more patient? Did we enjoy games more? Did we finish the ones we bought?
I am sure Sony hears our gripes, complaints and our praise. Perhaps our expectations are warranted but our impatience with things has blinded us to the other vast activity options out there. Don’t give up games but let Sony work it out and be happy when something great happens. It will.
Now where is my freaking Heavenly Sword Demo?!

I want to see that heavenly sword demo today…. I will be so disappointed at Sony if I don’t see it.
The only reason I can think of as to why they wont put it up, is because they have nothing to put up next week. one demo today another demo next week, maybe lair next next week…. yup… who needs 5 demos in a week like Microsoft does…. those idiots.
I have to agree with the general public when I say demos are needed. The PS Store offers a very easy method of bringing that into every PS3 owners house and it can raise awareness for a particular game.
I know just in my case, i showed the demo of Ninja Gaiden to my friend and now she owns the game too or the demo of Dynasty Warrior, Gundam now has me interested in the game where before, it was just another “robot” game.
This also leads me to Beta’s. Ive been part of countless Beta’s, from PC to the PS2 to the PS3 now and I must say, these are great things to offer. It builds alot of grassroot based press for a game and gets the name out there, all in while its something that can benifit the developers alot from hearing community input and finding knows glitches and so forth.
