  • This is going to be an expensive week ;)

  • Catherine and Demon Gaze for those price are great deals.

  • What no Costume Quest 2! :(

  • For the first time in forever i am actually tempted by some of these.

But Chris, please can you PROMISE ME that we won’t see Metro Redux, Vanishing of Ethan Carter or Everybody’s Gone to The Rapture on ps plus in the next few months?!?!?!?!

  • Was hoping for a sale on Corpse Party, oh well.

By the way I’d advise caution if you’re considering buying Resident Evil Revelations 2, it’s garbage.

  • There are some really good deals there. Wolfenstein TOB and The Order 1886…

    • The order is 16 quid from game 12 on ebay .

    • I haven’t bought a game from the store for years and whith these “LMFAO SALES ” cant see that changing .But atleast UK law is starting to get it together were gaming is concerned .

    • I just bought Wolfenstein TOB. When I thought about The Order 1886 again it made no sense. I will buy the Blu-ray version soon.

Thanks for the advice though pb0yd1.

  • How many more times are Wolf among us, Walking Dead and the Metro games going on sale??????
This is the 4th or 5th time this year already.

  • It’s the most wonderful time of the year, thank you Sony! Finally, good sales

  • Why no discount for The Walking Dead: Season 2 for ps4?

  • i think i’ll get only Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone, and maybe Alice Madness… still wondering why the original Zombie Apocalypse never ever goes on sale, unlike the sequel.

anyway, thanks for not fixing the discount for the Sonic titles from the previous sale… -_-

  • Nothing interesting me in this list but I might have been more persuaded if the actual sale prices were listed. I’ll have a lil browse when the sale is updated on the PS Store but I’m not really into horror games. The Back to the Future DLC for Rocket League and LittleBigPlanet 3 is getting my money this week anyways. :)

  • U.K. People – you can pick up many of these cheaper at retail if you shop around. dying Light for example has been sub £20 a few times

    • Thanks, but the future is digital only for me. Don’t mind paying a couple of quid extra for it. Plus, I also have a US store account, make new releases about £38 on day one.

    • It won’t only be a couple of quid extra once the alternatives are forced out.

Digital is going to push both retail and the used market out of the market. Currently digital is required to compete with these markets – and goes some way to driving these sales and prices in general. Once they’re gone, the few companies left selling content will have you by the proverbials.

    • Aside from not having to change discs I really don’t see the advantages of digital.

      – No resale value
      – Constant HDD management or new HDD purchase required
      – Higher cost (Even at £38 I can get most new releases as cheap or cheaper)
      – Physical copies arrive at least a day earlier for me 99% of the time

      Meh..

    • Just want to address those points:

No Resale value – If everyone wasn’t so scared of digial. Xbox live would have had a system in place to sell your digital copies. If this had happened, PSN would have probably adopted the same system.

HDD Management – Surely easier to manage a digital space rather than a physical space?

Release day Access – really? I can wait a day for a game.

Higher Cost – Yes agreed, I generally only buy in digital sales though. Although there does need to be a little more parity in digital and physical costs.

On the whole, I love having instant access to the whole of my game catalog. If feel once digital is embraced more, we’ll see changes in digital distribution. Third party games resellers will become a thing of the past, but times change, and things move on. It’s happened with music, it’s happening with movies, and it will eventually happen with video games.

    • Interesting that Space Hulk on Vita (released this week) is cheaper digitally (£20) than physically from Amazon (£22). That doesn’t happen often.

Anyway, the future of portables is digital only for me, I love having a selection of games to play without carrying loads of carts around.

    • The main advantage I ever had with discs is that they didn’t require anywhere near as much hard drive space as a digital download did…. or so that was the case with the PS3. On PS4 however they do. I have two disc games GTA V and Infamous Second Son and then both use a LOT (GTAV is well over 50GB) running from disc. Makes me wonder why the heck I even bothered getting those on disc (cos I had store credit at the second hand shop I guess). I much prefer digital. Ok yes resales are another advantage for physical media but for games I love and want to keep I prefer them sitting on the hard drive, not taking up any shelf space, and not requiring any disc swapping.

    • @DavoTheDiv

“If everyone wasn’t so scared of digial. Xbox live would have had a system in place to sell your digital copies.”

No, it wouldn’t. The publishers wouldn’t accept it. It doesn’t even make sense, because digital games don’t exactly get ‘used’.

“HDD Management – Surely easier to manage a digital space rather than a physical space?”

That depends. As long as you use only have one hard drive it’s easier, but once you have to start switching storage mediums around it gets painful fast.

“Release day Access – really? I can wait a day for a game.”

      Agreed.

“Higher Cost – Yes agreed, I generally only buy in digital sales though.”

Not everything ends up on sale, though, and not always at more affordable prices.

“If feel once digital is embraced more, we’ll see changes in digital distribution.”

Yes, but for the worse. There’s no stopping corporate greed, especially in this industry (things like DLC are proof of that).

      “It’s happened with music”

I can still buy music CDs.

      “it’s happening with movies”

Content providers always want to save money on bandwidth, resulting in worse quality. That’s why there’s still a future for DVD and Blu-ray. Heck, if you want to go the download route, you not only end up with worse quality, but you have to wait longer than if you had gotten the DVD or Blu-ray from the store.

    • Right now, the only advantage with going digital only is that you don’t have to get up and change the disc. And that’s not worth paying extra for in my book.

    • Even paying £38 day one is more than I’ve paid for any of the new releases. Only one exception which is GTA V for PS3. Every other big game I’ve managed to get £35 or often less within 2 weeks of launch.

Like I said shop around and utilise the bargain hunting sites (post will get removed if I post here but search for videogame deals uk on twitter and there are quite a few good ones).

Also i find digital is less instant access than disc as half the time I have to delete stuff to make way for other stuff.

Howbouthisthen: interestingly it’s also been sub £5 on Steam for a very long time and packaged in a number of cheap bundles

    • @Carnivius_Prime

Installing from a disc is less of a hassle than downloading, though. PS4 games are huge, and PSN isn’t known for its sound barrier breaking download speeds.

  • Why is telltales tales of the borderlands episode 5 not available for ps3 yet the ps4 version is?
I really looked forward to playing it today…

    Nice sale though!

  • Dante’s Inferno for PSVita. I know that is the PSP version, but on the Store only appears to be PSP-compatible…

  • Urgh….please start putting the ACTUAL sale prices, and not what they usual are and the percentage taken off.

  • No Binding of Isaac or Corpse party for the Vita?

    Bad form.

  • No discount on life is strange… :(

  • my wallet is safe this week, apart from ethan carter these prices are still pretty steep

as for gta v, what a joke

  • I’m interested in Everybody’s gone to the rapture and White Night, However the US had a flash sale last week where these games were $8 and $5 respectively. I am not willing to spend DOUBLE the price (when accounting for conversion rates) for the same games in a sale in the EU. I refuse to be ripped off any more.

    • So it isn’t all whining, The Metro redux price is fantastic on the PS4 – assuming it isn’t an error…

    • i am with on that .
but lets face it every region has its own taxes , prices and sales
and as you said metro redux is for 11$ its not a mistake . us never got that for this price :)

    • US had a flashsale on Metro redux for, I think, $13 last week on Friday. Which, incidentally, is around £8.40..

Even adding 20% sales tax to the US prices (Not sure if it gets much higher than this elsewhere in the EU?) we would still be paying £16.60 to £10.60ish, rather than £16.60 to £8.50…

I know it doesn’t just come down to tax and conversion rates, but it is still annoying. The US got Omega Quintet for $12 recently, our price in a sale? £22.50. A 300% mark up.

    • Eh, the worst part is games that get a permanent discount on the US store (ex. Project Cars or The Order 1886) but on the EU store we only get a weekly (or two) discount.
I do believe that TO 1886 have a permanent price of $20 (18€) on the US store but on EU we pay 24€ as Halloween promotion…

Oh, and let’s not forget their 15$ credit if you waste more than $100 on their store…

    • @Cyrax: we did get permanent price reductions, they’re just not announced and we have to find them by ourselves… for example MGS4, Disgaea D2, Witch and the Hundred Knight, Uncharted, and many more.

  • Already have everything that I want, but once I checked the store I did buy the Yakuza 5 avatars which were released on Nov 5 2015.

    …?

  • – “Remember, if you’ve not got access to your PS4, PS3 or PS Vita then you can also buy through our online store.”
Great sale! Though I can’t log in on the web version of the store from Safari any more.

  • Ok Chris, fine, I’m not as lazy as I am bad at math, so time to open excel and run these deals down…

  • I can not buy anything on your store with either my CC as with paypal (I get errors). It is like you don’t want me to spend money…

  • Metro redux was like £12 on the US store last week.

  • Great sale, but vita still lacking there a bit.
Muramasa, standalone and DLC should have been on sale here too
    missed opportunity

    • Muramasa Rebirth is still on sale for eight more hours thanks to the previous sale.

    • Ohh thx on behave of those that want it. I bought it day 1, but due to the delay in releasing the DLC in the EU plus the DLC discount in the US I held of buying the dlc and ever since have been waiting on a discount on those

  • Finally a HBO Nordic app

  • Hey blog team
I’ve only just noticed that the awesome Soldner X-2 is on sale for 70% off until tomorrow, it doesn’t come up in searches properly unless you add the required umlaut, something not everyone is going to do. Might be something worth bearing in mind when selling across Europe.

    • Until tomorrow? Try for two more weeks!

I’m wondering why the original Söldner isn’t on sale, like it was in the US when the other bundles were. Now I have to either choose the Söldner X-2 bundle, or the bundle that has the two games but no DLC.

  • Picked up the Resident Evil 1,2 and 3 Bundle for my Vita, once I’m done with the Spyro trilogy I got on the previous sale I’ll be Resident Evil’ing it up on Vita :)

  • Also, Dante’s Inferno is PSP only

  • Cool, getting Demon Gaze!

  • I must say this is a good discount , i guess am getting the evil within for 15$ :D
and please guys cant you maintain the UAE store properly ? i can only find 20 games only in the deadly discount section !! i have to search for them individually or chech if anything has a sale on here :/

  • Very nice deals!

  • Waiting for NHL 16 real deal, not 20/30%

  • Bayonetta for €4,50?! You’re mine!!!

  • Does anyone know if Silent Hill Book of memories plays on the PSTV? It’d be helpful if Sony actually updated there list, but that’s like waiting for pigs to fly.

  • RockSTAR upped the base prices of the PS4 version of GTA:V just before they went on “sale”. The digital versions now supposedly now cost €69,99 and €84,98. A base price ending in .98 does not make any sense. There is clear manipulation of this sale going on. Chris Howe and Sony in general, this is a dangerous precedent you are allowing publishers to set in which sales do not become sales anymore. Do not take your customers for fools.

    • This is also forbidden by law as far as I know (in Belgium at least). I would be surprised if this law is only for Belgium and not for Europe in general.

    • It probably only is forbidden in Belgium, because stuff like this happens in The Netherlands as well on a regular basis.

    • That’s just insane. If they are allowed to up the price before a “sale” and then give x % amount on the price so it is the same price as before the price raise it is not a sale and it should not be allowed to name it a sale.

It is not the case this time with GTA V as it is still cheaper then it was before, but it is not a 40% discount, so they are just lying.

I can’t see how this is legal at all. That’s just false marketing. It is the same as saying your car does have % amount of emissions although it doesn’t (and then everybody starts crying), but if this is so common, I don’t see the point in crying about all those car manufacturers either to be honest.

  • Hello fellow players,
I’m between buying one of the following games can you advice me on which to chose?

    1. Tales Of The Bordelands
    2. Zombi
    3. Everyone Gone To Rapture

    • I never played Zombi so I don’t know about that. Suppose it would be good for Halloween. Just finished Tales from the Borderlands final episode today and I can’t stress it enough, that game is a must have! I absolutely loved it. Made me laugh a lot. The first episode should be free I think so give it a try and see for yourself if it’s your thing.

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture was very good too. It won’t be for everyone and I did get bored a lot. It’s more for if you can appreciate the art and just enjoy the views. I found holding the R2 to run was still quite slow. Only played that once.

  • nice to see download speeds are as great as ever, 5 gig game, nearly an hour to download on fibre 40mb, takes 12 mins on pc roughly.
So glad i pay sony for ps plus and a superior psn…..

  • Dying light and Ethan Carter sort of appealing, but I’ll wait for a better sale. AC coming in and still working on MGS5.

  • Costume Quest 2 should be free for Halloween seeing as we never got it last year. They got it for Halloween in the US so I’ve no idea why it was delayed so long over here.

  • Is it a 2 weeks sale? Can’t find info about that :(

  • What the heck is going? I can’t buy anything for some reason. Transaction cannot be completed. Will it work if I buy a Psn card?

  • No sale on Corpse Party or Corpse party: Book of Shadows :(, kinda a shame with the new one coming out and it being a halloween sale.

  • Until dawn looks like a wise move on the 30% cut, will be picking this up; scary, scary, potty trained !

  • I have the same problem as others have reported, I literally cannot add money to my account anymore. I tried two separate credit carts (Visa and Mastercard) and Paypal, as well as both the browser version of the store and the console itself. What the hell?

  • Cannot seem to complete the purchase, I keep getting getting an error message.

    • same here, mate. I guess it’s not a problem on my end after all. Gonna buy some Psn cards tomorrow, but we need this problem to be sorted out.

  • I’d love to buy games if you hadn’t blocked my wallet for no reason, your customer service can’t find anything wrong. I know the industry. You screwed up. ANSWER YOUR CUSTOMERS.

  • The discounted prices are still not being presented? Going through these lists with a calculator in hand is inconvenient and frankly, rather stupid. Get on it SCEE!

  • Pretty please. I want to buy Resident Evil Superbundle from the Romanian store.
Can you add it on the store.
    Thank you very much.
