Introducing PlayStation Stars – An all new loyalty program

Join for free, complete campaigns, and earn rewards.

Throughout our company’s 27-year history, we have been continually moved by how meaningful gaming experiences can create fond, lifelong memories for players. All of us at PlayStation take special joy in creating unique products and experiences that delight our fans. This includes everything from our consoles and critically acclaimed games, to community challenges such as Seize the Throne and Treat Codes, to digital and live events including State of Play.

Today, I’m pleased to reveal PlayStation Stars, a brand new loyalty program that celebrates you, the player, for being on this ever growing gaming journey with us. PlayStation Stars will be free to join when it launches later this year. Once you become a member, you’ll earn rewards by completing a variety of campaigns and activities. Our “Monthly Check-In” campaign simply requires you to play any game to receive a reward, while other campaigns require you to win tournaments, earn specific trophies, or even be the first player to platinum a blockbuster title in your local time zone.

All PlayStation Stars members will have opportunities to earn loyalty points. Points can be redeemed in a catalog that may include PSN wallet funds and select PlayStation Store products. As an additional benefit, PlayStation Plus members enrolled in PlayStation Stars automatically earn points for purchases on PlayStation Store

Also, as part of PlayStation Stars, we are unveiling a new type of reward called “digital collectibles.” Collectibles are as diverse as our portfolio of products and franchises. They are digital representations of things that PlayStation fans enjoy, including figurines of beloved and iconic characters from games and other forms of entertainment, as well as cherished devices that tap into Sony’s history of innovation. There will always be a new collectible to earn, an ultra rare collectible to strive for, or something surprising to collect just for fun.

We hope this new program brings to mind past gaming memories while making you excited for the future with PlayStation: commemorating the gaming eras we created together, charting new paths to explore, and bringing players together for global celebrations. This is just the beginning for PlayStation Stars, and the program will continue to evolve over time. We’re currently doing some early tests on this program before launching it later this year in phased regional rollouts.

We hope you’ll enjoy the program once it launches. We’ll be back with more updates in the future. Thanks for reading!

  • Interested to take part of the competition :)

  • I’m really looking forward to this, hopefully it is well thought out and engaging because it will have a lot of potential if done correctly.

The rewards should be in line with the rarity of trophies obtained to combat the cheap platinum garbage that is way to prevalent.

  • Anyone else lose excitement when you realized “all stars” was not in the title of this post?

  • So getting digital collectibles will be like playing Astro’s Playroom with less platforming.

  • PlayStation is preparing for us to embrace the digital era.

  • Curious to see how this “loyalty system” turns out. Not gonna lie, I’m hopin it’s better than the new PS+ because it seems the real benefit from that is mainly backwards compatibility with a few major teases. But I’m really curious about this.

  • Will it be available in Iraq please answer 🙏🙏🙏😢😢

  • Awesome! Will there be any rewards for buying PlayStation systems and accessories? I’d also really like to know if/when this will launch in Australia.

  • Will it be USA only or in other countries as well. I recall Xbox doing something like that years ago but, as a Canadian, I was not eligible.

  • Great times ahead. Lookiing forward to it.

  • This statement right here, “Our “Monthly Check-In” campaign simply requires you to play any game to receive a reward, while other campaigns require you to win tournaments, earn specific trophies, or even be the first player to platinum a blockbuster title in your local time zone.” is what will make or break this rewards program. For me, the only thing I will get out of this is the monthly check-in reward, as I do not want to chase trophies, tournaments or achievements. I got kicked out of the Sony Rewards Program because of their “change to credit card for reward points” and it looks like I wont get much out of this program, either. Ah, well; back to simply playing games.

  • I’m in. Where do I sign.?

  • This is Great. Sony is treating Gamers like Gamers. I hope your old trophies will get you something as well. All the Gamers who put in all that work, hours of Grinding just to reach a shiny new PLATINUM. I know it’s probably not going to happen but a Gamer can dream right???

  • Fantastic, hopefully earning enough points to be able to buy something doesn’t take a ridiculous amount of time.

  • Appreciate

  • Just keep it coming!!

  • Super excited and can’t wait I love reward programs that save me money on future purchases!

  • Excellent!… let’s do it!

  • I am looking forward to see how this program works and be a part of the growth

  • I have been playing since day 1-27 years ago when the first PlayStation came out. I have been a super fan ever since. I have been a part of every type of user content, genre, single player, multiplayer etc. all along. I was one of the 1st. PlayStation Underground members that enjoyed all of the monthly magazine’s along with all of the beta discs when that format came out. In fact I still own them all! I have a great group of us men and women that first played Socom online 20 years ago and I still stay in touch with almost all of them. The PlayStation isn’t just a gaming console, it is a very formative part of my life. I have made lifelong friendships that I wouldn’t have had without PlayStation. I have seen a lot of changes over the years in many aspects from the console itself to the content that we see, use and enjoy.
I’m looking forward to this new chapter with a loyalty themed context. I am looking forward to taking on mew challenges and hopefully new friendships to go along with my existing friends. I’m looking forward to a new experience just like the changing of the PlayStation Plus membership program. For old timers like me that never had to pay to play online we knew it wouldn’t last but we made the best of it. What I miss the most was all the beta testing that came along with the Underground experience. Many people would get jealous when I would tell them what game I was testing at such and such a time. By the time it started getting popular, it ended. Then eventually we got PlayStation Plus and everything changed. So while I’m nostalgic about the past, I still look forward to the future and this new program is where it’s going to be at. Maybe one of the rewards could be a limited number of beta tests? I also know I speak for many, when is the next Socom coming out, lol?
I guess we will all just have to sit and wait while playing what we currently are all playing. Thank you to Sony, PlayStation and everyone involved in bringing the world of video games into our lives. It has been a magical, transcending, life changing ride that I have been so fortunate to have been an active an avid fan of for just short of 30 years!! Absolutely mind blowing when you think about it.
