Marvel’s Spider-Man series is coming to PC

Insomniac Games’ critically acclaimed titles launch on PC this year.

That’s right, the acclaimed PlayStation action-blockbuster hits Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales are heading to PC.

Developed by my Insomniac Games teammates in collaboration with Marvel, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered introduces you to an experienced Peter Parker who’s fighting big crime and iconic villains in Marvel’s New York. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of Marvel’s New York rests upon his shoulders. The same goes for our version of Miles Morales as he rises to the challenge of becoming a new Spider-Man for his community and the city. In Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – currently available on both PS4 and PS5 – Miles is adjusting to his new home in East Harlem while following in the footsteps of his mentor Peter Parker. But when a fierce power struggle threatens to destroy his new home, Miles realizes that with great power, there must also come great responsibility. Miles must take up the mantle of Spider-Man and own it to save Marvel’s New York.

Before we further discuss the PC versions of each game, I’d like to pause and express Insomniac’s profound gratitude for those of you reading this post who have already purchased and played the PlayStation console versions of Marvel’s Spider-Man (PS4) and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PS4, PS5). Let me tell you, there are a lot of folks to thank for your passionate support! With that in mind, I’m both ecstatic and humbled to share that the Marvel’s Spider-Man series now has sold through more than 33 million copies globally, as of May 15, 2022.

Now let’s look more closely at Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC. We’ll divebomb into tech specs another time, but I hope after you watch this trailer, you can envision just how visceral it’s going to be hurtling through the skies of Marvel’s New York and taking on the most sinister rogues gallery around.

Marvel’s Spider-Man series is coming to PC

Look at that gorgeous footage! That’s just a tiny sample of what to expect in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC. Wait until you get your hands on the sticks…or mouse and keyboard (feature confirmed)! Of course, you can count on additional standard PC-specific features such as adjustable render settings and ray-traced reflections, with more features and details to be announced later.

We’re grateful to our PlayStation Studios partner studio Nixxes Software for fully optimizing Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PC. Our production team has been thrilled with Nixxes’ collaborative spirit and commitment to quality. We see a lot of ourselves when working with Nixxes.

We asked Jurjen Katsman, Nixxes’ Founder and Senior Director of Development, if he’d like to share a few words about the games’ PC development journey, and this is what he had to say:

We will have more details to share about both Marvel’s Spider-Man PC games as we approach their respective launches. For now, we can reveal that Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will launch on PC on August 12, 2022 while Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will launch on PC in Fall 2022.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC will include the full main story and its continued narrative in Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps DLC, which features three accompanying story chapters in Peter Parker’s journey along with additional missions and challenges for players to discover.

    Right, so expect Spiderman 2 in 2024 then. When you compare this with the 7 months of Guerilla’s time that was utterly wasted on the PC port of Horizon 1 and then the sequel getting delayed, missing out on millions of holiday sales and no competition from GT7 or Elden Ring, then of course history will repeat.

    And all for few measly pathetic thousand sales. God of War hit 3 million units sold on PS4 in 2018 after only 3 days. What day since launch are we on the PC port now? Has it even broke a million yet lol?

    But whatever, you keep doing you Jim Ryan, i.e. devaluing the PlayStation brand and your developers one day at a time.

    And I literally just explained why it IS damaging to console players, for anyone that thinks otherwise.

    Such a disappointment, it’s just been 1.5 years since miles has released and you guys are already porting it to pc, how are we exclusive ? 4 years gap is understandable but this is a big disappointment, sorry Sony but I am really really disappointed

    I guess the Horizon Zero Dawn PC port went from being a special case, to the door being blown wide open. These are PS4 games being ported so far, sure, but if the leaks are true of Returnal and Sackboy then why bother owning a PlayStation? Just throw everything on PC and save us the trouble.

      Because it devalues their own platform at the benefit of a competitive one. PC players have looked down on console gaming since the beginning, and if they weren’t so elitist they would just get a Playstation to experience these games. Why should we be happy losing out on exclusives, arguably the most notable aspect of the Playstation platform, at the benefit of the condescending competition? I can understand a PC gamer reasoning that way (not losing out on anything and only gaining, no big deal), but not a console gamer.

      It’s funny you talk about smug PC players yet you attribute some prestige to being the only ones who can play these games, as if that somehow makes you greater than you would otherwise be.

      That “prestige” is made up, fake.

      Sony is a company that just wants your money, and offers you a product in exchange for it. Exclusivity is just a marketing scheme for that product and you fell for it hard. It’s not some special club, and you’re no better for being part of it.

      Without exclusives you ‘lose’ the need to own that console to play those games. It’s not about prestige, it’s about having a reason to go with one particular console or platform over another. (possibly seems less relevant coming from an open platform like PC). Even though we’re all gamers (and I love you all<3), we're on competitive platforms. And even taking the risk of driving away your own customers at the benefit, and enforcement, of the competition seems like horrible business sense. It's like America arming Russia so they could become a bigger threat while your own forces are diminished… And exclusives are basically like the opposite of a deterrent, an encouragement :p
      So no, we're not "losing out on games", but we're losing out on reasons, arguably the main encouragement, to stick with our platform.

      For a practical example, I wouldn’t have gotten a Nintendo system in ages if it weren’t for a handful of great IP’s and exclusives, or if those were available elsewhere. They effectively sold those consoles to me because of their exclusives (even the WiiU -_-). In conclusion, they’re system sellers that add great value to the platform. Losing exclusives does the exact opposite.

    Granted Sony probably should have saved this for another time as not a lot of PC-only users would be watching this or any other State of Play.

    These pc gamer don’t even care about the play station brand in the first place. The fact that they never bought a play station before to play our games prove it. They are getting ready to pirate Spider-Man as we speak just like is happening to God of War and other games.

      I bought Spider-Man on PS5 and I’m going to buy it again on PC, because this is going be stunning with my 3080 and the modding scene is going to be amazing.

      If someone can play Spider-Man on PC that doesn’t take anything away from your PlayStation, you still have all the same things you had before.

    F you Sony PlayStation Jim Ryan Hermen Hulst PlayStation First Party Developers that where spamming emails to Sony to get all of our exclusives ported to PC so they can make more money giving the PC gamers enhanced graphical versions of our own exclusives being too loazy to use the full power of the PS5 later being anti consumer making us pay 10$ for director cuts 60$ for cloud saves and multiplayer getting us stuck in crossgen until 2025 so we dont see the full power of the 500$ we paid for the PS5 devaluating The Playstation console by destrying Only On Playstation to spit in the face of the playstation gamer that has been with you since Playstation 1 just to make more money.Nintendo is laughing at you they make more money without PC ports and have real exclusives not just timed exclusive that people buy the console for.     On PlayStation you often have to choose between “performance” and “fidelity” modes. No compromise on PC, with a decent graphics card.

    I bought a Miles Morales Ultimate Disc just to get the code for the Remastered Spider-man because I couldn’t buy the game separately.

    Now my PC owner friend is going to play this game for “FREE” (you know what I mean)

      There are reasons to pirate games, you can even pirate PS4 games. But generally if you can afford it you should buy it.

      If a PC game turns out to be trash it can always be refunded.

      I don’t know what you are angry about, someone else being able to play a game you enjoyed doesn’t take the enjoyment you got away from you.

      My problem is not about buying a game. I own more than a thousand games at my Steam account (You can search my nickname for proof. Remove the hyphen between SE-XSEN )

      Sony treats its own customers not in the way they treat PC gamers. I owned the The Ghost of Tsushima PS4 disk. I was expecting a free PS5 upgrade or a simple 10 bucks upgrade but NO. Sony put a barrier of 30$ forcing me to buy an expansion just to get the upgrade. Most probably PC gamers again will paly this game too without much trouble

You will actually be able to play Spider Man: Miles Morales later on this month as part of the new PS Plus Extra tier.     The PC market can’t be “ignored” and yet they are struggling to sell 1 million copies of GOW lol They might sell 2 or 3 millions of Spider-Man but is it worth it when people don’t buy PS5s or subscribe to PS+ Extra to play it? Even if they reach the 300 millions revenue before FY22 that’s very low amount. They will lose a lot more throughout the generation. Spider-Man and Miles were still charting.

      When I think about NES, Dreamcast, Genesis or other older consoles they remind me of some games that I can only play with them and this gives me a nostalgia. Exclusives make a console more valuable in the eyes of the gamers and leaves memories that no where to be found. Sony is destroying this nostalgia right now. 10 years later people will think about PS5 (or Xbox) and say “Who need that console? I can already play all its games on any PC”

    I’m sorry but where is the update on factions 2 ? What about gameplay for wolverine ? Release date for Ragnarok ? How do you justify this completely ignoring us who brought your new bloody console since September where you gave us a pathetic 15 minutes of attention yet keep announcing everything on PC now…Wow just wow I am not picking up a PSVR 2 now after PS5 and literally sitting here scratching my head on what’s actually coming and when while being forced to pay for online I have learnt my lesson and no this is not because “more people get to play a game” this is just the complete lack of focus from PlayStation on PlayStation I’m sick and tired of being treated second class to a platform that doesn’t contribute anything to this brand it’s a joke.

    se siente como basura, durante un año trate de comprar la PS5 Cuando logre comprarla la pague a 1100$$, fui y compre Spiderman Miles Morales, y un mes despues me dices que va a salir a PC, WTF, pude ahorrar 1169$, se supone que muchos en PS estan con la marca por tradicion y las exclusivas, pero nos estan pasando sus partes por la boca con estas nuevas politicas.

    If games go day and date won’t PS5 exclusives suffer…75% of PC gamers are still playing games with HDDs not SSDs… You hype up PS5s special SSD for over a year just to start developing games for PC 😒 I’m primarily a PC gamer, but I like exclusives because they take full advantage of the console, that’s why PS4 games were the best last gen. Don’t ruin it this gen
