  • Honestly Sony, that is a really cheap trick giving access to a standalone small part of a full game. As an adult, any adult would see immediately what you are playing at with that. With the price of PS plus continually rising, and not to forget, these are not games given permanently anyway, they are only rentals accessible whilst subscribing, the quality and value of the PS service is questionable. Personally, I will not be renewing when my subscription expires this month. I will continue playing my own purchased games unaffected. There are no online multiplayer games worth playing these days anyway. Very disappointing especially as it is the Christmas month.

  • 2020-2021 was the worst PS Plus years and you still tops this awful years with the most God-awful games? Niche market – Lego game, Payed Demo – Godfall Trash Edition and ONLY, ONLY the PS4 version of Mortal Shell. Just **** off Jim Ryan.

  • Mortal Shell without the ps5 free patch it’s shameful.
I have never commented a PS blog but in this case I feel the duty to disagree with the management of the subscription

  • lmao you can remove your garbage demo sony we dont need it thanks but no thanks ;) BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • And Mortal Shell not the free PS5 upgrade…why did I buy a PS5 $ony? Why?

  • Well epic games is giving away for free this Godfall “challenger” edition in a couple days. Not really feeling I’m getting any value from PS Plus. It seems that games we get on PS plus are also being given away for free or on sale for dirt cheap on other gaming marketplaces.

  • To those of you defending the challenger edition, I got a bit more of a middle finger to us PS+ members….PC players, yes Godfall is on PC, are getting the Challenger edition free on the Epic Games store…and there’s no sub required to keep it unlike here, so it’s basically screwing us over even more. Enjoy that little bit of info ^^

other 2 games I’m excited for though.

  • This is such a HUGE slap to the face to all of your loyal gamers who have been paying for this service for years now. Not only do you give us some gimped version of Godfall (which no one wants to play anyways), but you cheese out and not even give us the Ps5 version of Mortal Shell which was the only game worth anything in this line up.

You guys should really be ashamed of yourselves for this move. I hope everyone sees how you treat your customers and will not pay into whatever this new ps plus system you have planned.

  • So disappointing, month after month after month. I used to get excited every month when new games came out. Now I just get angry. What’s the point of paying for “free” games when there’s never a good game anymore?

Mortal shell: no explanation on how to play, super-slow movement (everyone is faster than u), no changing the level of difficulty, no story to speak of. A mix of snooze-fest and frustration does not make a good game.

Lego DC supervillains: was ok at first but gets old fast.

Godfall challenger edition: did not even download this joke. It’s not a game, as others have stated earlier. Just a demo.

  • Pretty frustrating that Mortal Shell doesn’t include any sort of upgrade path for the PS5 version except just flat out buying that version. Between that and the Godfall “Challenger Edition”, a disappointing month.

  • Playstation only gives disappointed and trash game

  • Are you kidding us PlayStation? Mortal shell is PS4 version? Guys Sony is laying to us

  • They are literally giving this Godfall Demo away on Epic Games Store starting tomorrow for a week…. and that doesn’t even require a subscription like Plus….

I though there was a standard for PS Plus games of a certain minimum metacritic score or something like that too, but not even are they offering a bad game , it’s not even the full game…

If the rumors of a new service to rival Game Pass built upon PS Plus is any true and if day one exclusives are out of the picture, seeing this month offerings doesn’t fill me of any hope.

  • Honestly what’s the point owning a ps5? Mortal shell has no ps5 upgrade and Godfall is essentially a demo and PSnow has only ps4 games even though those games have free ps5 upgrades. I didn’t buy a ps5 and a expensive 8k TV to play at 1080p 30fps. I’m moving to xbox with its game pass and free upgrades with smart delivery. My ps5 is a dust collector untill some exclusive games come out. I remember when online gaming was free on the ps3. Ps+ and now needs to be revised. Very disappointed, it would be stupid for people to carry on buying into a service that doesn’t deliver when there is a considerable better alternative/option on the table. Wake up Sony!

  • GodFall Sub-Standard edition.
    So bad
AND Mortal shell is some PSPlus version that can’t get the free PS5 upgrade.
How do you fail this so hard! 0/10

  • Please leave the glorified demo out next month.. Claim it’s not a demo but described by the developer using the definition of a demo while claiming its not… I expected more from Sony and gearbox. stop the lies

  • Disappointing that Mortal shell does not contain the ps5 upgrade. Will be holding off until then.

  • Godfall: Challenger Edition is the biggest ripoff for a PS Plus free “Game” of all time.

Both Sony and Counterplay Games should be ashamed of themselves.

  • Give PS Plus members an option Godfall or the free Mortal Shell Upgrade. I’ll gladly pass on your Challenger edition, but be interested in playing a more performant Mortal Shell. Also, you can keep that Lego game. Zero for this customer. For the Godfall fans, give them the same option, free campaign upgrade and then No Mortal Shell. Game Pass is kicking butt and gaining more customers everyday. Poor decisions on Sony’s part will accelerate that and will cost far more to win Folks back. Unless you’re executing your exit strategy?

  • Very disappointing….

  • Not a single one of the free PS VR games is showing up for free. Every single one is trying to charge full price. I tried your chat support, they ended the chat without resolution and while i was still typing and now im apparently im in a cool off period and cant chat again. I tried calling your phone support, the lady there also hung up the phone with me only saying “the free games will be added whenever they are added”. When I pressed for when that will be, she said “when they are added”, I told her that is not an acceptable answer when they are only free during a limited time frame and she hung up. I tried Twitter support, but not once have I received a reply to my tweet.

Whats the deal? Are the bonus VR games actually free or is this some kind of false advertisement? How do I claim these games before they are no longer free? Sony customer service was anything but helpful, Ive never had such bad support including from the cable company. Just abysmal.

    • I’m having the same issue. No help at all. They are supposed to be free until Jan 3, they are listed as free until you go to claim them.

  • I can add the 3 games to my library just fine but the VR games say I have to pay for them. Is anyone else having this problem?

  • Mortalshell does not allow us to avail the free upgrade to ps5 version.
God fall is no campaign or story.

Sony stop with this crap you are feeding us.
This whole year Sony has tried to see how far up ours can it climb.
The horizon upgrade issue, GOT upgrade, uncharted bull on top of all this bad service of plus since launch of ps5.
Get off your high horse Sony you have started to lose your fan base loyalty.

  • I am enjoying Godfall Challenger Edition, Thinking about getting Deluxe Edition, Arigatou Gozaimasu for fun game!

  • Can’t get the free PS5 upgrade for mortal shell. Sony really screwed us this month.

  • Bro, did I just PAY for something I can get for FREE on PC? This is silly, I had high hopes for December but this is just a joke

  • Get Godfall Challenger Edition, no ps+ subscription needed, for free right now at Epic Games Store.

  • The bonus vr games, walking dead, persistence, and until you fall are not free even though they are listed in the free included ps games list. 😞

  • Hey, I have playstation plus and is asking me to pay for the 3 bonus VR games. any one can help with this? Impossible to contact sonny. Have been on the phone for 30 min waiting to talk to someone.

  • I won’t be extending my PS Plus subscription.

I’ve been a PS Player my whole life, having pre-ordered every single console. While I’m enjoying the PS5 and will continue to play from time to time, I’m extremely disappointed with PS Plus. the last recent years have been hit and miss, and while some months were dreadful, at least we would get a good gem or surprise from time to time.

The last few months have marked a shift in the game selection approach, with the inclusion of ‘freemium’ style games and some very niche ones. But for me what made me give up was December’s selection, with two main reasons.

    1) PlayStation has always been about storytelling and immersive games, but you turned your back to it when the PS5 game is a ‘special’ edition stripped of the entire story and focusing only on end game mechanics (many have argued it’s nothing but a demo).

    2) the cheap blow of only giving Mortal Shell for PS4, without the PS5 enhanced mode.

All that makes me feel unwelcomed by Sony and prompting me to go to another game subscription.

  • i have plus until next month
but i cant get 3 psvr games listed on plus part in store
they have price instead of being free
but every web sites says it is free until january’s 4th.

    can any one help?

  • All the VR games show a price? Since it clearly states they are still included in December how do I get them for free?
