PlayStation.Blog Game of the Year polls are live [polls closed]

Honestly, i think TLOU2 will win due to the fact that more people know it, played it, and has generally more hardcore dedicated fans compare to GOT. GOT is a new ip, it doesn’t have the “popularity that TLOU has (yet). Both are great games in general. But if you’re asking me, i think GOT should get GOTY

TLOU2 is a beautiful, realistic and stunning game, but the problem for most is the story/ narrative. For a storytelling action adventure game with average score of 7/10 on story, it’s just a little disappointing. It could have been better, pacing wise etc… but i do also think that the leaks and spoilers before the game came out hurt not only the game but the players thoughts too… the divisive story is what made loyal fans and others dislike the game and cause a big commotion in tbe community. Although much can be said and praise for the visuals, sound design and accessibility etc but the story for a storytelling game…..

GOT however ticks all the right boxes even though they played it safe with the story resulting in a generic storyline. Nothing new and nothing bad, just good and acceptable. Addition to the story, the gameplay, the visuals, location, combat, the open world, and the free multiplayer are all consumer friendly and favor the player. Nothing bad about it, its just a good game. Any bad comments like the combat is repetitive etc.. is all personal preferences, its an open world game after all.

To me GOTY is not about which game has the best graphics, story, sales number, popularity, the bravest or boldest, etc… It is about the players, if the players are all happy with the product with little to none backlash, bad reviews or hatred from the players. I think that what’s make GOTY.

All in all, it’s a great time to be a gamer with all these quality games. Proud to be a gamer and part of the Playstation Nation.
