Release Date Updates For The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima

Both Naughty Dog's and Sucker Punch Productions' PS4 titles will launch this summer.

As our teams at Sony Interactive Entertainment and Worldwide Studios approach development milestones and confront a world changed by COVID-19, we find ourselves having to adapt to today’s ever-changing environment. Amidst some disruptions to our working styles, we wanted to provide an update to PlayStation gamers who are eager to learn when our next exclusive titles will arrive to PlayStation 4.

As we begin to see an ease in the global distribution environment, I am pleased to confirm that The Last of Us Part II will arrive on June 19. And Ghost of Tsushima will follow on July 17. 

I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances. Both teams have worked hard to deliver world-class experiences, and we can’t wait to see what you think of them when they release in just a few short months.

And finally, I want to thank the PlayStation Community for their continuous support and patience.

    This is Sony karma which is coming back. Sony lied to us for year’s, promised us 4K gaming and Ps4 pro runs games on 1440p with the help of checkerboard, its not Native 4K. Sony deserve this.

    We were advised that digital pre-orders for The Last of Us Part II would be refunded.

    When will I receive that refund?

    Sounds like Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann went full “The Last Jedi” on us, “subverting expectations” and all that.

      I preordered the game last year and today it show up in the playstation store again and its asking me to preorder the game I did not hey a refund so does that mean ima still get the game? because its giving me and option to preorder game again when I already paid for it.

    You told me not to be a jerk, but I’m going to anyway. June 19th isn’t the summer anywhere, but it is close (5:44pm on the 20th on the east coast of the US). I’m happy the TLOU delay was as short as it was. Now to avoid spoilers for the next 53 days (working 2 days a week probably won’t help much).

    Why would you preorder something digitally? I REALLY need you to think about that before you answer.

    Also, they are releasing TLoU2 clearly because of the leaks, I highly doubt it will be a very polished game when it releases with more than likely many patches the first week. If I were y’all, I’d save myself $60 and not support these developers after what they’ve put their employees through. Look up the spoilers and if you still want to play to it, buy it when it inevitably hits a bargain bin price of $20 in a couple of months.

    This is happening just because of the major spoilers that are all over the internet. The Last Of Us is one of the best games I’ve ever played but sadly Naughty Dog just destroyed the amazing history of the first game.

    I paid for the pre-order. I received a notification (no email) informing that my money was going to be refunded (3 weeks ago). Today I get this piece of news and no money was refunded still. I hope I can either download the game with out you guys asking me to pay for it again(as I already payed for it), or have my money back. I tried to contact support and people in PlayStation and no feedback on my situation was given. Thanks for caring for the players. I still wait for your response.

      Did you pre-order on the PS store? If so it should show as you having bought it, if that’s the case then your pre-order still stands.

    Yes! I cannot wait to play both of these. I’m glad the delay for TLOU2 wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought. I was worried it would be delayed until late this year. Fortunately that is not the case!

      I pre- ordered from the PS store. I can’t See If this still Stands because Sony erased everything from this Game. Ir does not appear nor in my library as a pre-ordered game with the lil timer and everything. And know nothing. I even have the emails where im notified of paying the pre-order

    So I bought a collector’s edition from GameStop a few months back, so I still get my preorder?? I payed in-full, all I have to do it pick it up.     I’m what people call me a “poor gamer”, meaning I can never get money to get the game I want, but I enjoy seeing other peoples reactions. I think the only way I can get the game is at Christmas.
