Ten years. Unforgettable games. One very difficult decision.

Choosing your favorite game of the year is always difficult. You may have a frontrunner and a few others that really leapt out at you, but truly determining which was your flat-out favorite? The one you’d hang your hat on for a given year? Tough stuff.

Welp, get ready for an even more challenging decision — choosing a game that stood above the rest for the entire decade. Gaze in despair at the list of absolute monsters below and try to narrow it down to only one.

It’s impossible! And that’s why our first-ever Game of the Decade poll allows you to choose three games, in no particular order, as your favorites. Don’t see your preferred game below? Write it in at the bottom of the poll and we’ll be sure to make note of it.

When voting ends on January 5, we’ll tally the votes and see which games walk away with Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards. We have some guesses as to the winners, but truth be told this was such a strong decade that there’s no way to really predict those top entries.

    So many great options The Last of Us, God of War, Infamous SS, GTA 5. My personal pick has no hope of winning but MAG (Massive Action Game) was a write in for me. TBA,VLS.

    Voted for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. There’s a lot of great games but Witcher 3 is in my top three favorite games all time. Played it twice all the way through and slowly playing a third time. Fantasy easily my favorite genre which helps a lot. Great music, story, side quest (best side quest for any game in my opinion), characters, world, and DLC (Expansions really) also help. It has some faults but the good far out weigh any negatives. At least in my opinion.

    Dark Souls – Set the standard for what a FromSoftware game is and spawned many lookalikes to the point where it became a new sub genre.
    Skyrim – Became the new standard for deep open world games and has more stuff in it than some MMOs also became a significant part of the cultural zeitgeist for the 2010s.
    The Last Of Us – Raised the bar for storytelling in big budget AAA games and proved that you can have a fantastic and risky story without sacrificing any quality in gameplay.

    See when I think of games of the decade, I think of timeless games that release on everything. Everyone played it. Lots of support. A VR release, even. And EVEN an Alexa version.
    That’s why my game of the decade goes to Skyrim.

    The Last of Us, God of War, and Bloodborne for me. Though it was painful not to say The Witcher 3. D: They wouldn’t be my personal picks, but I feel like Prey, Far Cry 5, and Watch Dogs 2 should be on here.

    To be honest its a very very very difficult choice to choose THE GAME of the last decade imagine choosing 3 THE 3 GAMES of the last Decade 2010-2019 its very more difficult than i have imagine….. then adding the fact that choices are splitting between PS3 PSP PS Vita and PS4 its a more difficult choice ._.
    that why i choose only the games who have revolutionize and hitmark the market on PS3 and PS4 and other market based on Greatest Hits title or Higher Score
    1#Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain
    2# Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2
    and finally “MY BEST PS3 GAMES OF ALLTIME” 3#FAR CRY 3
    I reject the choice of Resident Evil 2 “2019” because this game have been release in 1998 20 years ago when i was in college lol:P
    But both 2 version of RE2 are very good to play and i have the PS1 version in vintage case and Deluxe Edition on PS4^^:)))

    Now its time to look forward to the future of gaming with PS5 and other future tech who have not been release yet and NO GOOGLE STADIA ARE NOT THE FUTURE OF GAMING NOT AT ALL!!! This technology are not or far than be ready to be commercialize at this state the speed of internet are not the same for everyone around the world and the data cap are not the same in United States/Canada compared to the rest of the world and then charging 60$ for every games in a streaming service who are available already on Blu Ray and Digital Download on other platform plus a 10$ for a prenium membership monthly to play at 4K/60 FPS when you dont know if thier games gonna be lagged and thier server will be up for more than many years at this prices for a streaming games…..
    Its is not acceptable at all

    And an advice for everyone: Keep your moneys for End of Fall 2020 for the PlayStation 5 this will be a BEAST of technology^^:)

    A lot of great games here. But to me it comes down to The Last of Us and God of War 2018. And I give it to God of War. Better combat and ability/upgrade/collectibles system. Both are iconic games though and lifelong memorable playthroughs.

    My top 3 are Bloodborne, The Last of Us, and Astro Bot. Bloodborne has my favorite gameplay and setting of any game. TLOU is my top cinematic narrative game and has one of my favorite MP modes ever. Astro Bot showed me why VR is the future and is my favorite 3D platformer of this decade.

    Games of the decade. So I’m thinking INFLUENTIAL games. Skyrim, Dark Souls, Bioshock, Bloodborne, Fallout: New Vegas. That it. No Last of us, sorry, as that is just a good story (maybe stealth game on higher difficulty) No God of War either, sorry again.

    God of war , and Horizon Zero Dawn kept me on the edge of my seat entertaining from start to finish Really solid and beautiful works of art ❤️ Thanks to the developers and hopefully one of them wins Game of the Decade

    Grand Theft Auto V was my pick. ALL of the games on the list should actually be Game of the Decade, but GTA5 met all the things I liked for an overall experience-both on the single-player and online campaign. The game is still adding new things to the online aspect (too bad no add-on DLC like was done for the PS3’s GTA IV) which keeps the game consistently “fresh.”

    I never meet so many people that does not know how time or ageing works. You always start at zero like when you are a baby you have to be here a year before you get to one years old. The frist decade was 00 to 09. You count the year 00 too

    There where so many amazing games to choose from but the Witcher 3 and horizon zero dawn blew my mind. As did God of War, Uncharted(all of them) and Final Fantasy’s.

    There are amazing games like Nier Automata, Nioh, Bloodborne, Sonic Mania, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption, God of War 3 and 4 (2018) but there is not really any doubt which game is the very best, it’s always going to be The Last of Us.
    The Last of Us is my second favorite game ever, and even as God of War 4 is not THAT far behind, it’s still a no contest.
    That being said, TLoU2 might still not be the best game next year due to Ghost of Tsushima, which is crazy to even think about, but yeah, 2020 is going to be 2013 all over again, goinf out with a big bang!

    Spider-man creeped into one of my fav games of all time! Also i need to honorable mention Uncharted 4 and Last of Us. Incredible decade of gaming for sure

    I voted for Celeste, Life is Strange 2 and What Remains of Edith Finch (Life is Strange 2 being my personal favourite.) But, Celeste and What Remains of Edith Finch are obvious contenders for Game of the Decade, too. Cuphead, Downwell and Resident Evil 2 were my runners-up.

    it is a pity that we have just three places. Nier Automata, Days Gone, Red Dead Redemption, Yakuza 0, Borderlands 2, Mass Effect series, Skyrim such a wonderful games too.

    NieR:Automata all the way, only thing that even came close was Uncharted 3, coming second to a once in a lifetime game isn’t a bad thing though.

    Unfortunately I know this is a Sony blog and everyone would much prefer to vote for Haze if it was out this gen over a third party game.
