Hello, PlayStation Plus members! We’re happy to reveal your free PS4 games for September, 2016. This month you can slash your way through demonic hordes, or journey across the ruins of a forgotten civilization. Let’s get started!

First up is Journey. The talented developers at thatgamecompany bring us the critically acclaimed adventure and winner of numerous Game of the Year awards. Finding yourself alone in the desert, you must make your way to the mountaintop. But there’s so much more to this sublime experience than simply traversing the world. With stunning visuals, an amazing soundtrack, and a unique online experience, don’t miss the very special experience that is Journey.

Next up is Lords of the Fallen. Looking for redemption for past sins, you play as Harkyn and try to end a war between humans and the gods. With three classes to choose from, you can tailor the combat experience to your liking. And in a game where every encounter matters and your choices have consequences, the layers of customization are an integral part of the action. So collect your gear and prepare for close-quarters combat as you take the fight to the demon lords.

    I have always wanted to play Journey and now I get the chance. Awesome! People always whine about everything. Just be happy that we get free games. I remember back in the day when we couldn’t afford a game and we just played the free demos over and over. Now you actually get the whole game. It at least gives you something new to play. And the price hike. Have any of you did the math. $60/year comes out to be 5 dollars a month! 5 DOLLARS! And you get to play online, you get free games and you get discounts on things you want to buy. 5 DOLLARS A MONTH! Canada pays 84 cents more. 84 CENTS! You all spend more than that at McDonalds a month. Stop being so cheap! Keep in mind, those few dollars every month is going to a company that entertains you. These games take a lot of time to make and there are a lot of people behind them. And there is a lot of equipment that has to be maintained to keep your favorite game online. I think you should have to pay for it. YOU ARE THE ONES USING THEM! This money keeps them going and gives you the ability to play. This is how you support. So stop whining!

    My only question is, when will the Update 4.0 come out? Can’t wait for those folders! :)

    Hello. I’m from Brazil, where games aren’t so cheap as in the US. The subscriptions are in the same level too. I have both consoles and pay for both services. So I think I can tell with some property that PS+ was great when it was created back in PS3 generation. Because it was just a premium service. The online gaming wasn’t included. It was still free. With the obligation of being a member to play online, that’s something Sony missed. The obligation of providing a good online service. And believe me, its no good. XBLIVE DOES NOT HAVE THE ISSUES SO FREQUENTLY AS YOU THINK. The press around the world are against the other company and I really don’t know why. Sony must invest on servers to provide a more stable experience to every single 20 million subscriber. And here in Brazil, free games are very important to keep the service worthy. That’s just my opinion. I really think it must be better. All aspects included. By the way, here the XBLGold costs 50 per cent more than PS+, even after the price change.

    Yes because the free games are not what yall expected, if you dont like what they are doing then go play xbox. From some of your logics of, oh we pay a few bucks more so we demand the free games be triple star with a shiny gold star and it must make everything we touch gold. Its a free damn game who cares, if you dont like it then oh well dont play em. There are millions of otherngames you can play and quite a few free ones sitting in the store right now ya just gotta go find them and i guess since a lambo cost more than your car that means you get free right just because the price is higher, well go try that and see how it goes and let me known

    If you cant afford 5 bucks a month to keep the PSN more stable than it was free, you need to sort your life out and maybe take up a new hobby. PS is just meeting industry norms with MS and Steam. Everyone relax. It would still be a good service without free games. Gamers are so entitled sometimes, it’s embarrassing.

      WHAT??!???!??!! People like you are the reason why Sony can get away with such anti-consumer practices. Corporate slaves with a huge case of Stockholm Syndrome. It’s not being about entitled, it’s about being nickel and dimed for Sony to get a few hundred million extra in revenue. Comntrary to what you said the industry norm does not apply to the PC when playing online. IT’S FREE ON THE PC. It’s only Microsoft and Sony’s corporate slavery that impose that fake standard in your head. It’s all marketing gimmick that you and all the subscribers have fallen for, subscribe to a service that should be free, and get some ‘free’ games as a prize, games that you have no choice on what’s offered. You are a stupid consumer and your PS Plus logo shows it. A corporate slave, a stupid console peasant.

    Why don’t PS4 players get as many games as PS3 players? I own both systems, but my PS3 is all but dead. Still, I don’t want to play it when I have a beasty PS4 to play instead anyway. It’s been several years. You guys don’t find this odd?

    Oh look! another month and more “self entitled” gamer’s. What a shock, not! Here is the deal , yea it sucks for the price increase. But then again, nothing is forcing you to have to pay it? Or even keep your PS plus membership. But still yet, every single month the same majority have to come back and whine and complain. And to that I say shut it. I am so sick and tired of hearing people complain. Heck I feel more sorry for PlayStation, because they have to read all the complaints. So do yourselves a huge ” favor” and quit gaming, all together and find a new “hobby” quick. Your making us “hardcore” gamer’s and this community look bad.

    I was excited to see Journey on the list of free games for PlayStation Plus members this month. As soon as I got home from work, I tried to download it, but found that it forces me to sign up for a PlayStation Now subscription in order to download it. I understand wanting to make money, but if it’s listed as a free game for PlayStation Plus members, then why backhand us with a “You have to pay $20 to $50 in order to have this”?? Not cool, Sony. Severely disappointed.

    I find a problem with this lineup. The first, and most important one being:

    1.) Journey was already free on PS4 for people who bought Journey on the PS3. So was Flower and Fl0w.

    2.) Pitching 2 games to PS3 and 2 games to Vita is ridiculous. PS4 users are getting one game they may not have played before, and one game they’ve already gotten for free when they bought it back on the PS3 the first time.

    Having a price hike for internet access is pretty lame. The other half-off plus only deals on the store have been nice as of late, but they aren’t price-hike nice. It really isn’t worth it.

    My question is this… Do the two free PS3 games for the month extend into the Playstation Now service? Maybe I should get Playstation Now. I never got the Vita because I couldn’t access remote play with a DS4 controller.

    JOURNEY!? I’ve been wanting to play that since it came out but the sale prices in the past never cut deep enough for me to bite. I’m really looking forward to playing it (when I get to puck up a PS4 that is. I’m waiting for the Slim to release) and the other game looks pretty good too. And I’m looking forward to the PS3 titles this month too! Good job Sony, another strong PS+ month! Seriously, one of the best investments I’ve made with the brand. Oh, and VUE is freaking KILLING IT! I can finally cancel with stupid Comcast. Love you all and keep up the amazing work!

    This company is really starting to piss me off, you wanna charge us all this money for a ps+ subscription and you can’t give us some decent free games. Yes Journey is good but it came out so long ago everybody has already played it and we all played it on PS3. I know Sony can’t be hurting for money come on now

      PlayStation is one of the few divisions in the entirety of Sony Corporation that is doing well. They got themselves some 20 odd million paid or post-paid subscribers so that’s a gold mine for them to abuse. I only use my SEN account to attack idiot consumers who continue to support the greed of this company. I agree with you, I smelled the deceit and lies of this company and I jumped shipped to a more consumer friendly platform. A platform with free online gaming, a platform that fits all budgets, a platform with much cheaper games, and a platform with more exclusives than Uncharted or The Last of Us. That’s the PC, where choices abound and don’t require you to start from scratch every half a decade or so. A platform where you don’t need the highest end components to even get superior graphical quality over the consoles. A platform that respects the consumer with choices.

    This lineup is… I feel cheated. It’s a seriously great lineup, but I got lord of the fallen with gold months ago, and bought journey for about 10 dollars or less, with flower and flow. For others, this might be the best in months, but getting for example Bound and Inversus would have been a lot better for me. Whatever, I’m sure I’m in the minority right now, and somewhere I am happy that this is the lineup we got, because they are great games… Yeah, whatever is fine.

    Really this is what we paid for? Don’t get me wrong, lord of fallen seems to be a decent looking game for this month.
    I still think it’s realllllllyyy pointless to pay a subscription to play online honestly
    Another thing is the games per month is getting stale indie games really? Sony you can do better then that
    My complaint is that we’re paying like 49.99 for ps+ and all we get in return is a bunch of maintenances at a Inconvenient time, and Sony is becoming Greedy for them to increase PlayStation plus from 49.99 to $60 USD or $70 CAD

    I’m gonna guess most with a ps plus sub have already played journey and lords of the Fallen is pure garbage. This is what we get right when u announce a price increase? You kidding me? I’m already ****ed that sony has crapped on 45 million ps4 owners by releasing neo. I preordered ps vr day one only to find out about neo a week later so I’m still upset. Money grubbing. This crap you’re doing isn’t going to keep sony on top. Eventually enough will stop buying into your crap. I’ll give ps plus one more monah to see if they change their tune on what they offer and if it stays like this I’ll be done just like I was with xbox live. Get it together sony. Show some love to your customers like u used to :(

    I think the games we get are garbage. There are tons of games that have come out that could be possibly free, but instead we get old games or indie games. Maybe I should switch to Xbox where when I pay for online play I get really good games. Sony you suck now you make us pay online, give us ****** games, and now raise the price for ps plus and still give us ****** games. Your company is becoming a joke and at least Microsoft does a better job with their customers. Hope you are happy you have lost one to them!
