PlayStation Vue Expands to Roku Today, Launching on Android Next Week

We are happy to share that PlayStation Vue is expanding to Roku devices today, with support for Android smartphones and tablets launching next week. Since we’ve launched PlayStation Vue nationwide, we have heard from many of you that Roku and Android are the top devices you wanted us to add, so we’re pleased to make this a reality.

PlayStation Vue will be available on Roku Streaming Stick, Roku Streaming players, and Roku TV. If you already have an account, just download PlayStation Vue on your Roku device and start streaming.

If you don’t already have a PlayStation Vue account, you can sign up for the seven-day free trial option through the PlayStation Vue website, or through your PS4 or PS3.

Here are the plans we have available. For specific information on pricing and channel lineup in your city, including live local stations and regional sports programming, please visit psvue.com and type in your zip code.

  • Access: 55+ channels, including live cable TV, movies, and sports channels for $29.99 per month ($39.99 in cities with major live local broadcast stations*)
  • Core: 70+ channels, including all the channels from Access with the addition of live national and regional sports networks for $34.99 per month ($44.99 in cities with major live local broadcast stations*)
  • Elite: 100+ channels, featuring all the channels from Core with the addition of top movie and entertainment channels for $44.99 per month ($54.99 in cities with major live local broadcast stations*)

With an Internet connection and a PlayStation Vue TV-connected device, there are no additional fees such as monthly set-top box fees, or long-term contracts. In addition to Roku devices, PlayStation Vue is also available on PS4, PS3, Amazon Fire TV, and Fire TV Stick, as well as iPhone and iPad through the PlayStation Vue mobile app.

Users can also access PlayStation Vue on Chromecast though compatible iOS devices. PlayStation Vue provides up to five simultaneous streams across different devices, including up to three mobile devices used outside of the home, so you don’t have to worry about using multiple devices at the same time.

Next week, we’ll be launching the PlayStation Vue mobile app for Android, so you can use your existing subscription to access PlayStation Vue on Android smartphones and tablets (with OS v4.4 and higher) through our mobile app. It also supports Chromecast and other Google Cast-enabled devices. We’ll provide more information on the launch date for Android soon, so stay tuned.

*Cities with major live local broadcast stations: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, and Miami

  • Please add an app to the Yahoo Connected Store, so I can watch Playstation Vue on my Vizio smart tv.

  • Can you please put Boomerang and Teenick on the Access package? I think it is ludicrous that I have to pay an extra 20 dollars or so to watch two more channels and not watch the others.

  • Why is the Playstation TV (It even has it in the freaking name) not supported?

  • Why doesn’t it work Sony!,!,!

I put in the code and just get an 1012 error saying to call customer support.

    A total mess Sony.

    • I’m getting the exact same error. Install, reinstall, restart, etc. None of the typical steps to resolve have worked. We need to know what the error code is for. PlayStation rep please respond.

      Error 1012.

Tech support on the call had no clue.

    • Ok I got back on tech support. I was an early adopter and the account registered with a regional zip code. The local and regional zip code on my View account did not match (error 1012).

To fix: we closed all Vue apps, tech support refunded and unsubscribed the Vue service, we resubscribed on the PS4, then resubscribed the Roku.

That worked. Thanks PlayStation support team.

  • I downloaded the PS Vue app to my Roku SE today but it isn’t working for me. I can scroll around and see what’s on but it won’t actually play any channels, live or on demand. It just sits there when I click on a channel (although it isn’t actually freezing, I can still scroll around even after clicking a channel to watch). On the rare occasion that it starts to load a show, it then kicks me back out to the Roku home screen. I checked and I’m on version 7.1 so I’m curious as to why it’s not working. Hope there’s a fix, I’ve really been looking forward to accessing Vue from my Roku.

  • Thank you so much for the adding PlayStation Vue to Android I just switched from iOS to Android and when I saw that it was only available for iOS I was bummed out but when I saw this post I was so happy I was told by a PlayStation Vue rep that the Android app will come out on June 29th which is today what time will you launch it

  • PLEASE ADD THE EL RAY NETWORK !!!!!!! The fact it dont have the el ray network is the ONLY reason im still paying for SLING tv and not VUE, so add El Ray and youll have a new Lifetime Customer !!!!!!!

  • My situation is I am paying $45.00 just so I can have AMC, Chiller & Epix with VUE. I wish they had the History channel and CBS. 100 channels but just like cable I will only use a few.

  • I am using your 7-day trial with a roku and 2 iPhones, but I have multiple Apple TVs. I will cancel the 7-day trial before it’s up but will *DEFINITELY* return when your service works with the Apple TV.

  • I forgot to say that I your service works very well on my 2 Chromecasts, but I ill sign up for your service when it’s compatible with the Apple TV.

  • YAY!!! PSVue on Roku is SO MUCH BETTER than on Amazon Fire Stick, with the sole exception of the channel guide is missing. Please add that in, and we’ll be golden! LOVE the interface on Roku, as I was truly frustrated using the slow-as-molasses-in-January Amazon Fire Stick. THANK YOU for adding Roku support!

  • Will there be an update to make the PlayStation Vue interface on Roku devices the same as it is on Amazon Fire TV and PS4? I’m currently using the 7 day free trial and I’m pretty much sold on making the switch from Sling TV – the only thing I don’t like is the interface.

    Thanks!

  • Works great on Roku but please Add A GUIDE! I am currently using my IPad for the guide, but it should be on the Roku. Thx

  • I started the free trial with the core package but will probably upgrade to elite when its over. It seems descent enough but I think the interface on the roku should have some sort of customization. Also there should be a channel guide to make channel browsing more easier.

  • One more thing, there should be more info about the show or movie when pressing “OK” while watching a channel. Also there should be a way to check whats coming on next while watching a channel instead of having to exit the channel and browsing around tediously to get that information.

    • If you press the start button on the controler a TV Guide comes up while tge current show continues to play in the background. Hope that helps

  • Apple TV PLEASE!!!!!

    • If you press the start button on the controler a TV Guide comes up while tge current show continues to play in the background. Hope that helps

  • Roku has CW app for free.

  • Apple TV please!!!

  • NBA TV please!

  • We just signed up over the fourth of July weekend. I must say I’m really disappointed with the Roku app. It’s really bad and cumbersome to use. It’s 100 times better using Amazon Fire TV. When I went in to cancel my Sling they had last come out with a new GUI for the Rock and it blows away the Vue GUI. Please consider updating soon or we may be going back to Sling

  • Apple TV app please. I’m using a Fire TV and an Apple TV and would love to pare down to just one box. Thanks!

  • Goodbye DirecTV, Hello Playstation Vue, Roku is the best change I made and finally Sony has made me a believer. I have had ES systems since 1994, and now we are making some forward thinking changes that will make the entertainment world right, Thanks SONY!

    • My last Directv bill was $236.00 needless to say I am now a huge fan of the Sony TV service through PlayStation

  • Dan
Any chance that PlayStation Vue with expand or have and app on the PlayStation TV console? Id buy 3 more today if that would happen. Hard to buy different brand products to run a service on multiple TVs in a large family home.

  • I have PSVue. I have a house full of Sony products, including Internet ready bluray players and tvs. When and how can I stream PSVUE through them? I love the service, don’t get me wrong. I’m a really big Sony fan and would like to see this available for all Sony streamers as well. Thank you very much.

  • FINALLY! Now I can cancel Sling ;) I like Sling but Vue is a better deal.

  • Amazing service and a must have. Superior job to Sony for providing this service!!

With that being said, here are a few suggestions.

    1) Android TV and add the guide to the app much like the PS4 version.

    2) If an app is not ever going to be an option, I own a Sony Bravia 65 4K TV powered with Android TV and subsequent “cast” option built within, however, I cannot cast to this TV via that method. I had to pull out my old Chromecast dongle (single band 2.0) and use that instead. When casting to the Bravia, via the built in cast option, the picture would display on the TV and progress bar, but it never fully would cast and remained “frozen” at the initial image. There were no issues however casting to the old Chromecast Dongle, but…I like keeping things neat and tidy and thus just one of the reasons I chose to go with an Android TV that provided built in cast functions when needed.

I would like to get a reply about any possible or future plans toward an android TV app because that will determine on how I approach a few ideas for my entertainment center.

Again, many thanks for a superb service and benefit to all of us!!
