PlayStation Plus: Free Games for June 2016

PS Plus fans, we’re pleased to share with you two excellent PS4 PS Plus games for June.

First up, to help get everyone hyped for the NBA Finals, we’ve teamed up with 2K to add NBA 2K16 to the June lineup. One of the most critically acclaimed sports titles ever, NBA 2K16 has tons of great gameplay for everyone. With robust offline modes like MyCareer and MyGM, and deep online modes including MyTeam and MyLeague, there is an incredible amount of content to offer all types of gamers. So be the baller you always wanted to be and guide your team to the NBA Championship.

Next up is Gone Home: Console Edition. Gone Home is one of the most talked about titles from the last few years for good reason. While it’s an interesting exploration/adventure game, it’s the narrative of Gone Home that’s so remarkable. The game has a strong development team, including Steve Gaynor, who worked on a few titles in the BioShock series. The Fulbright Company (now just Fullbright) created an intimate and unique story that is well worth your time.

When is LA Cops going to be on the monthly free games? in December it was $5 now its 23. Make it free for a month Playstation!!!

Holy smokes this is a serious line up! Not exactly in my wheel house but I actually look forward to trying something new. I have been disappointed in the offerings before(just because I got kinda burnt out on indie titles). But I Sony is clearly trying to listen to its fans. I like that they’re also timing the offerings to an upcoming event.

Finally a AAA title in what seems like forever and it’s a boring sports game…hopefully gone home is interesting otherwise lineup for ps4 blows…guess ill hold my breathe for july in hopes something better pops up

This is a strong lineup. My only beef is that Echochrome was a free game a couple years ago. Otherwise, there’s something for most gamers here. I don’t like the sportsballs, but I’ll definitely play NBA 2K16 for free.

I had a pretty tuff year with sony last year my ps4 broke down they didnt want to fix it for me had alot of problems in 15 almost thought of jumping to xb1. Real bad year i was pretty mad with sony for a while but got over it after a while been with ps since i can remember and to be honest i have seen alot of your comments and i dont understand how alot of you guys are complaining on free games common ps has stepped up its game alot of free thing for us lately alot of discounts on great games sorry if u have missed them stop complaining and enjoy wht ps has gave us. For me honestly thank you sony for all the discounts on games and free games out there love them all 5 stars for me ✌✌ keep bringing great new updates to my ps4 thanks 100% loyal to my ps4 ✌

Really good line up, I don’t think people take into consideration that playstation 4 hasn’t been out for that long they can’t throw AAA titles out every month because they’ll run out in few months or some games are just too new to give away for free, and to put a current sports game on there not one from two years ago is pretty good to be fair, great line up I’ll be downloading both thank you Sony!

Well, as someone who does not own a PS4 and is only missing Little Deviants from the rest, about the only thing I’m piqued over is Gone Home. Still remember that huge file size for, what, 2K13? But, since I did just nab a 64GB unnecessarily-proprietary card for another, second-hand slim Vita (both my Persona skins put to use!), I’ll at least try out LD.

But, c’mon, who splits the God of War PSP titles as a Vita slot for two months when that console has the HD Collection as a trophy-enabled twofer?! At least give us titles with some exclusivity if you’re going back to the underserved PSP downloads.

Is no one going to comment how you just had this on sale. So in May the people that bought it on sale now will have wasted their money a game they will have free access to. Almost bought it. Wouldnt of been the first time. You have a history of putting ganes on sale with a playstion plus discount just weeks before it is announced to be the next feature game of the month. Makes for a cheated feel for the people paying money to support the online story wheb they the used game store.
If you want players to support the online format please stop with the sale than straight to playstation plus. Please wait at least 3 or 4 months after something was on sale before it is a playstation plus game. That way the people that got it on sale don’t feel so cheated.

NBA 2K16 has one of the worst career modes around with you having to follow a dumb pre-made story before the potential freedom of choice might come into play. It’s progressively getting worse as it turns into a story mode.

While I’m not a sports game fan, NBA2K16 has a $60 value, and Gone Home is interesting, so in my opinion this is a great lineup. Good job Sony ^^

Honestly pretty happy to be getting NBA 2k16. The last version I had was 14, so this is pretty great. Already beat Gone Home on Steam and it was interesting, even if there isn’t much going on. Solid month for some, horrible for others.

Well, I read the story for gone home (which is sad) but I am willing to try out NBA 2K16 and the siren blood curse. Ecochrome is a good game to. All in all its a really good set of games that I am happy to add to the collection. Thanks for it!

The entitlement is strong on here, seriously.
People saying give us old launch title games instead is the most rediculous argument I’ve ever heard. If you haven’t played Infamous or other launch games by now, chances are you weren’t gonna play it anyway. Is there actually anyone still sitting around saying to themselves ‘well I’m gonna hold out on buying Knack as it might be a Plus game soon’.
I’d rather have recent games on Plus for the PS4 than old games and as I was going to pick up both these games, I’ve saved myself a decent amount of change so cheers Sony.

Every month its getting worse and worse. Hopefully ONE day ONE day it will be worth it spending 49.99 on PlayStation Plus Membership. The only reason most of the people getting PlayStation Plus Membership just because of Multiplayer otherwise its not worth it spending 49.99 for these kind of Free Games. I think Most people have PS4/PS3 not PS1/PS2 :(

Truth be told I no longer look at the games being released for PS+. If there’s something decent then someone will ultimately alert me to it. Whilst it’s not the case for everyone, I pay my PS+ subs to get online. Anything else is a bonus.

People are going to moan that they don’t like basketball or sports games but remember this, NBA 2k16 is almost consistently in the top ten sellers since its release, that’s a big game to give away, gone home won’t be to everyone’s taste but it’s a critically acclaimed and again a good selling game, we’re not getting bottom of the barrel scraps this month, so I can see why some people would personally not be interested in these games but it’s not a bad line up at all, if you think it’s that bad and you care so much about ‘paying’ for plus games don’t do it, or do what most of us do and just accept you pay plus to play online every now and then and any free games you like is a bonus.

While not a basketball fan, I do look forward to trying the more strategy-based features like running a franchise. Plus I’ve always prefered the 2K sports games over EA’s offerings. I wish they’d wrest back the NFL license from EA’s mottled claws and put the stale and stagnant Madden series to shame.

As for Gone Home, I was just about to buy it once until I read a bunch of posts saying it can be completed in under 30 minutes. That didn’t seem like much value for a straight port of an older PC game compared to similarly priced titles with much more content like Firewatch, Salt and Sanctuary, etc.

I understand that PS doesn’t have to give games away for free, but at this point they kind of have too! Xbox is trying their best to steal playstation users away and with their price drops and deals and their monthly line ups being better then ours, well you have to wonder if loyalty is enough or in this day in age it’s what is a better deal? I’m a playstation user through and through, but when their last system had free online play vs the competition they had something huge! Now backwards compatibility gone…..online has a price…..benefits other then better looking games (graphics wise) this war is getting tricky. I want playstation to really wow us and destroy the compitition!

PS+ is less than $5 a month (unless you’re dumb and buy by the month.) Most months, the free games offer at least $5 worth of entertainment value.

I don’t even bother downloading the GwG lineup anymore. The majority of Xbox One games are rendered at 900p or lower and look absolutely horrendous when upscaled. Lords of the Fallen was free on X1 a few months ago and, being the hopeful person I am, I assumed that by now it had been patched to run at 1080p. I was very wrong and playing that sub-HD lump of crap was like a jaggy pixel simulator at 15FPS.

I think a good rule of thumb is the lack of trophies for ps3, I think game without trophies are just too old or at least patch in the trophies, siren no trophies, LocoRoco™ Cocoreccho! no trophies, at least make them AAA games worth playing like folklore or heavenly sword, if they are going to be that old. Old psn not AAA games with no trophies have less incentive to be played.
