Our team is thrilled to present your free PS Plus games for May on PS4! Satisfy your desire to be the dictator you always wanted to be, or challenge your friends to relentless combat races in next month’s lineup.

First up is the island dictator sim Tropico 5, featuring the long-running virtual dictator, El Presidente! Tropico 5 is a full-fledged city-building game based on the fictional island nation of Tropico. Inside this not-so-subtle parody, El Presidente guides and directs the everyday life of his beloved Tropicans using a firm grip and ridiculous edicts, all presented with a heavy dose of tongue-in-cheek humor.

And Table Top Racing: World Tour on PS4 is a high-octane combat racer from Nick Burcombe, the co-creator of PlayStation all-time classic Wipeout. Table Top Racing: World Tour is a total reinvention of the Table Top Racing universe, bringing micro combat-racing to a truly next-gen audience for the first time.

    and how do I go about canceling my playstation plus service????? I am paid up well into 2017 due to the ridiculous sale that Walmart had on PS Plus cards for Black Friday, but I am starting to regret it. I was one of those guys that have been constantly defending Sony and it’s playstation plus lineup, but that ends NOW!! I want a REFUND!!!

    Are you kidding me right now?!?! Why is it that the Xbox one has better games every month available and you are giving out indie games no one really wants? I know that you might be trying to help introduce these games but seriously it’s been months since an actual good game came out for free. Here are some suggestions, God of war 3, the new Rachet and clank game, any of the assassin creed games, infamous second son, the list can go on and on. Can you please release better games for a but please?

      I’m sorry but I’m pretty sure costume quest 2 and Peggle are both indie games that you ca get dirt cheap anywhere, and if you think DG2 and Grid 2 are AAA games then your standards are seriously low.

    I would have been excited for Tropico 5, but I got it months ago free for being a PlayStation MVP. It’s definitely a good game, though, if you like those kinds of games. Looking forward to Tabletop Racing.

    I think the only thing that would interest me this month that I could actually play (I don’t own a vita) would be BC: Rearmed 2. But one thing I definitely give Microsoft credit on is the Games with Gold option there does not require you to continue the subscription to keep playing ’em. Works out well for those of us that do not/cannot maintain regular premium memberships.

    I heard Tropico 5 is very good. I just don’t care for the theme – when (if) Cities Skylines hits the PS4, I’ll jump at that. Don’t really care about Spanish speaking island nations. Enjoy it though, whoever does!

    Looking forward to Table Top Racing though! I love the talent behind it, it looks great and I just love fun, arcadey racers :) Bring it on!

    Some of these “crap games” as some you kids call them,(personally I call them indy games) are quite fun even though the majority are mediocre. However the one thing you fail to realize the reason that there isn’t a “Triple A” title release on the PS4 version of PS+ every month is the fact that the system is still younger than what the PS3 was when they came up with the Playstation Plus subscription. By then they had three years worth of games up. We have gotten some ttiles from major game studios on PS+ for the PS4. Zombi from publisher Ubisoft, the Metal Gear Solid V prequel from Konami and Injustice from WB. I believe we’ll start to see bigger studio titles on the PS4 version of PS+ after E3 of ’17, if not earlier around Christmas. However after all this defense of Sony, I will say they nerfed the PS+ monthly free games on the PS3 since releasing the PS4 but that is so people don’t go “Oh looky, the PlayStation 3 is getting great games while I shelled out the money for the PS4”

    So…. I’ll start with this .. really?? I mean really? How do you people justify the idea that for 50$ a YEAR, Sony should just give you brand new triple a games? ” Xbox does it” you scream. Yes, because they are losing the console war and this is their only chance to bring in new faces. Sony on the other hand gives modest games, some great some not. Personally, when I saw gauntlet on the store, and as part of the PS+ I lost it. Then BROFORCE came out, and I about ****, because it is one of the most hilarious and insane games I’ve ever played.

    Honestly, the fact that give away any games is enough for me. We are paying for server maintenance not games, they have a monthly game rental service..

    Why you people think YOU DESERVE FREE GAMES, is beyond me. Get a job and buy your own ****.

    Sorry if I hurt your feelings and you need to crawl back to your safe space, but man up buttercup. The real world isn’t gonna hand you anything for free

      Have you seen this months games with gold? Tell me which of those games is any better than what ps plus is getting? Costume Quest 2 you can get on sale for $1. Peggie I got free in the App Store. DG2 is scrappy tower defense just like the one we got last month and Grid2 is a crappy OLD racer!

    I have to say that this is probably the first lineup I am actually excited about. Usually it’s just a bunch of indie remakes of 30 year old games with worse graphics. But this time we actually have a Triple A game at the top of the list! And it is one i have wanted since I played the demo. I love city builders.And I will probably give the Tabletop racer a go as well.

    If i had one word to say to Sony it would be “Finally!”

    A lot of you forget what the Ps+ was implemented and made regime for;Better servers less Lags and shi**y game play, which has not came thru, We were told we would pay to get better service the games were a small bonus on the side, like any bonus you can’t expect a big payout. But Sony has not delivered on better game play the servers will still go down often enough and I have to wander why I payed for this service if it doesn’t help at all and that bonus looks more like a shi* stain on a already monumental pile of crap that is PS+. I do not ask to be catered to simply to see something that gives me hope that Sony will do something right, instead I seem to be getting crap tossed at my face.If I happened to use excrement a lot thru this comment do forgive me I am simply subconciously guided to the word while remembering every month of disappointing releases.

      Actually the free games were the original meat of the deal, not a bonus, because online play was and still is free on PS3, where ps plus began.

    This is really disheartening. As someone who doesn’t have a PS4 yet, there is increasingly less reason for me to stay subscribed for this service. It’s been months since anything good has been released. Months. What happened to titles like Tomb Raider, Thief, etc?

    I’m over it, and I’m done.

    I am happy with the offerings this month…They don’t benefit me, but there’s a couple good games there(Unfortunately I already own them)…It could easily be better, and I am not overly thrilled, but I am happy with it. It’s definitely better than past offerings! I wish they would toss some of the classic games our way on PS4…I already own most of them on PS2 and such, and refuse to buy them again on PS4..Same with some of the “Definitive editions” of games…I own sleeping dogs on PS3, not gonna buy it on PS4(Though I did buy the nathan drake chronicles on PS4 reluctantly…only because I wanted the whole series on 1 console..and because it was 3 games for the cost of 1)

    I’ve always preferred Sony systems but I recently got an xbone three months ago and I’ve noticed that the gold games are really a lot better than the plus games. Step it up sony. When the two companies release the upgraded systems my choice may be decided on this issue. Sounds like I’m not the only one.

    it makes me laugh the fact people are complaining about the free you must be missing the point the ps4 has targeted indi games it said it would be about games that’s what they doing point out games you may have missed or not looked at. I like what they doing as I’m sick of AAA games that are all about the graphics That last 6 minutes before the do an add on that cost then another and another before they release a new one what isn’t really any different.

    I feel like everyone asking for AAA games, are ten year olds who have their parents buy everything for them. I pay for plus so I can play online. The free games, constant discounts, betas, trials, etc are all just icing on the cake. Ask mommy and daddy for a xbox 1 so you can go complain on their blog.

    Even if Sony did give away a AAA game, you all would still complain that it wasn’t the one you wanted or some other nonsense.

    On a side note, I am really disappointed that I missed out on getting outlast for free. When was this? I’ve only had my ps4 for a few months.

      Not everyone plays games online. For some people the free games and discounts are what they’re paying for and the online crap is the icing. You’d complain if the network you’re playing on, that you pay to use, was buggy and crappy. People have a right to complain in the same way about the games that they pay for, and yes they do pay for them. $50 a year doesn’t mean free!

    a toy racing sim, a 2nd string management game, a sequel to a game nobody wanted to play, a 6 year old PSP game that i swear you’ve given away before, yet another rail hopper glorified mini-game, and a Loco Roco — the only thing that looks kinda fun — that will only play on ps3 because technology or something. friggin’ woo. this has been a long string of disappointing months.

    more games i won’t be playing cuz they aren’t worth my time or energy.time to go back to senran kagura which is significantly better than anything i get from plus the past couple of months.the only good game i got was the walking dead season 2 and that’s it.

      i have played tropico 5 on pc.it’s a buggy mess of a game.i might give switch galaxy a try but table top is an AR game so idk how we can play that on ps4

    My only issue with this lineup is GoW. It’s NOT a Vita game. It’s a PSP game that is playable on Vita. Big difference. Both of the GoW PSP games are excellent and I’m more than a little surprised that they never got an actual port to Vita. I’d love to replay those games on a handheld with trophy support.

    For the last few months people have been asking for a proper AAA game, not another “Indie”.
    Tropico 5 is such a game, and a fun one at that. (I own it on PC).

    Sure it may not be your cup of tea but if it had been Watchdogs as rumoured people would have said “Old game everyone owns this already!” if it had been something else people would be unhappy again.

    Sure since I own Tropico 5 I would have liked something else as well, but for thos who don’t have it, it is a great title imho.

    It’s funny to hear people say how “Gold is so much better” “have you seen what Xbox is getting?” You know if these people had an Xbox they’d be *****ing about those games just as much. Look at this month for instance, costume quest 2 – an old cheap RPG that you can get on sale for $1. Peggle – Was free on iOS and has a more relevant sequel. DG2 another boring and cheap tower defense game, we got one of those last month. And Grid 2 – an old crappy racer. I’m not saying the PS Plus line up is great, it’s not, but it’s definitely no worse than what Xbox users are getting. This is why I use Steam and just buy games on sale. I get them just as cheap and get to choose what I want. I doubt I’ll buy another console when my PS3 dies. Maybe whatever Nintendo puts out just so I can play Zelda and Mario.

    Why can’t they give is a good AAA GAME? They give out games that retail for $19.99 so why not something like Assassins Creed or Metro,give the players something good to play. I’m so tired of 16 bit games. Come on Sony give us something other than Broforce,get real,I appreciate the free ga!es but it’d be nice to get something different.

    It’s funny that Sony is just now releasing Tropico 5 since Microsoft released that a good while back.

    I personally don’t mind it though, it’s a very good game but the rest of the games besides GOW I’m going to pass it up.

    Well i’m really tired of hearing all the complaints about the free games. Yes the are technically not free. But they are still games you might not have tried, and given the chance you might like them. I know me and my friends have loved a lot of the indies they have given us, and still play them a lot. Let me ask all you complainers a question. If it’s a triple a game that you like you would have bought all ready would you have not. I know if a game made by a compnay triple a company i like. I make a point of getting it right away. Most don’t intrest me as they are crap. So maybe soney isn’t all ways giving us triple A games because they see it as a waste of money as most people will all ready own them. Also i can’t see a triple a company just giving away there games to Soney. So ya the brand new ones probaly would cost Soney a lot to give aaway for free. So that another reason they may not all ways guve triple a games.

    People have complained every month since they implemented the free game lineup. I don’t necessarily recognize or immediately think that I’ll enjoy some of the games that come out, and some I immediately know that I won’t like, I don’t complain though. That’s the point, to try something you might not otherwise try. Branch out. It’s not like they have to give us free games every month. If you haven’t played it yet then who cares? We’re gamers, we play games. Have a little appreciation.

    All you haters are insane. Personally, I couldn’t be happier with the 3 COMPLETELY FREE games this month. I love racers and Table Top Racing looks to be a Revolt/Beetle Adventure Racing hybrid that I can’t wait to try. Sid Meier’s Civilization is one of my favorite franchises of all-time, so I know I’m going to enjoy Tropico. Even Switch Galaxy seems worth a look. It reminds me of a modern F Zero X. I’m not sure what you complainers are expecting. As I mentioned previously, these games are FREE. You couldn’t ask for 3 more diverse titles – there’s something here for everyone. I’ll admit that some months have been lacking, but this definitely is not one of those months. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if you say this month’s games suck, Metacritic, IGN, AND Gamespot all say you’re wrong, and so do I.

      I agree to a point, good games this month but they arn’t free. We pay subs for these games, and Microsoft are giving AAA free games away, to lure more people to their side… I think Sony should just give us a game token every month, and have a purchase system like AAA games cost 5, 6, 7 tokens, and mini games 1 or 2… Would make more sense.

    Best game lineup for a while, at least Tropico 5 is a full game, rather than these little retro indie games that we play for a few days and then forget about. I haven’t tried the Tropico series before, but looks interesting. Also we get a mini racing game… I’ll take that over two Indie games…

FREE!!. get that through your ignorant selfish heads. for one be thankful you are getting free games and you all seem to forget that ps3 was out for many years before the free game service became readily available so there were Triple A titles out there. what game do you want to be free right now that you haven’t already played? you think that its justified to give a game that just came out 6 months ago that still has a price tag of $50 or more? please you people are selfish and ignorant. if you have the balls to complain about the free games they are giving then you obviously cant afford to pay brand new games and maybe you should go to Xbox one and get those

      Free games that thy are offering games which are what 7+ years old? like really. they are giving games that you wouldn’t really pay for but wouldn’t mind trying out. and you have the nerve to sit there and complain. fine then stop giving your money to Sony go pay 59.99 for a year of Microsoft Xbox gold and get your AAA titles that are over 7 years old and have already been played out and are boring. or pay 49.99 for for PS Plus, get good deals every so often for being a plus member on top of the deals they are already providing and giving you more of a discount for subscribing to it. this system has been out for what 2 and a half years? please tell me what game that you havent either already played that is a ps4 title you would like to see?. lets hear it. because i can guarantee you that all the games that have been release over 2 years ago have been played by a majority of people that wouldnt care to play them.

    I really appreciate anything I get for free for any system. This god of war vita game is a perfect example. I just had to sell that last week for a measly 8-10 bucks. Now I get it for free from PSN, and I’m grateful. Sony doesn’t owe you anything, they could have just gone the way Microsoft went and force you to pay or you cant play since the beginning back in like 2001. PSN was totally free during the PS3 days, and they sure didn’t have to do that.

    Now that they are having to supply servers for 3 platforms, it s only fair that they charge.. and even if you pay 17$ for 3 months at a time… that’s not bad,, and they don’t force you to buy a year at a time, you can go month to month if you want. Cut Sony some slack, one of the reason I stayed with them is because I’ve never felt ripped off by Sony. (Except the memory sticks for the VITA, that was a **** move to force a super expensive proprietary memory sticks. I’m sure those sticks definitely cost them VITA sales, probably lots of them.)

    All I’m really saying is that at 40-50$ a year, I have loads of stuff to play on all 3 Sony platforms. Sometimes a month comes by and has nothing interesting..but that happens way less than having at least 2 good ones in the mix. Every time something I already own retail wise comes up for free, I sell the one I own. So you get to keep the game, and trade / sell it to GameStop and buy something else.

    ok Tropico 5 could be good but its a game for pc not for ps4. also its bad timing all the games coming out are far from resource management/ city sim. like for example salt and sanctuary, the witness, hyper light drifter. also their was no voting like last month so it felt like it was going to be something good like a AAA but then its just Tropico 5 which no one asked for and also why not just let people pick what they want like you can pick one AAA game instead of 2 indie games with a voucher they send but you can only pick for ps4 or vita or ps3 but then no one would complain cause they pick it
