Hi everyone — we’re happy to announce the PS4 Plus games for April. Pilot a warship escaping from a dying star in Dead Star or survive a zombie-infested London in Zombi on PS4.
First up we have Dead Star, a team-based shooter with RPG influence that we are excited to have launch as a Plus game. Dreamed up by the folks at Armature Studio (Founded by key members of the Metroid Prime team!), Dead Star is the result of a “Wouldn’t it be cool if…” process that started with a space shooter foundation and includes elements of strategy and MOBA-like titles.
The result is a 20-player online experience that’s easy to pick up and play, but also offers a great deal of depth (skill trees, ship upgrades, team strategy, and more). Dead Star has been a big hit at shows like PlayStation Experience and PAX South where players are finding something really special.
The second PS4 game this month is Zombi, a first-person survival-horror experience. Zombi really was at the forefront of the resurgence we’ve seen in recent years of genuine survival-horror games. The London setting combined with well-paced gameplay sets Zombi apart from more action-oriented titles. Add in the extra challenge of permadeath and it’s easy to see why this game became a cult hit.
In the last several years we’ve seen a lot of experimentation with the blending of genres. This month’s PS4 titles are shining examples of the kinds of mashups that create a lot of rich and layered gaming experiences.
So, in addition to your opinions on this month’s PS Plus titles, I’d also like to hear about your thoughts on game genres, what you find appealing, and why.

Can’t really comment on the PS Plus games as I haven’t played them yet, but access to older, full price retail games would appeal to me more as I am new to PS4.
Another sad month. If you didn’t make us pay for plus to play online I would have stopped a while ago.
Zombi doesn’t even have multiplayer. This month’s lineup is pretty bad.
Yes, you can complain- the games are not free. PS PLUS costs $49.99 a year.

It would be no to see some Rpgs not shooters and Indies Tales of Zestiria or some other rpgs that have released in the past 2 years. Please not Dragon quest heroes though as it’s way too cartoonish and definitely no Lego games or those kingdom hearts Disney junk. Maybe release a Star Ocean game or perhaps the old Wild arms ones from the last Rpg ones. I also why can’t PlayStation Plus Members get PS Now for free considering many of us got rid of ps3 we got ps4 and sucks because I like many others thought it would be backwards compatible like ps3 was. You really upset many players by doing that. Anti customer appreciation. It really felt like no respect WAS given to players when you made the ps4 only able to play it’s own games unless we spent more money. I felt cheated. People shouldn’t have to pay for ps now to play limited games but it seems that is the only way we can play them. Also the library of it needs to be updated as many ps3 and older games aren’t even there.. #heartbrokenPS4Rpgplayer
The bottom line is that a LARGE amount of your subscribers are unhappy with this service. It’s not logical, efficient, or forward-thinking, it’s simple dissatisfaction.
You think we complain because other consoles are having it better? You think we should just leave and sign up with them? Then you’re stupid. Times are changing, and PSN has to change with it.
These weak indie games are nothing to get excited over. The only ones who seem to be on board sound like they work for Sony.
So no, PS+ is not cutting it anymore. If the “free” games that come with subscription don’t get any more appealing, PS+ is gonna lose subscribers, simple as that.
In terms of monthly games PlayStation needs to lift their game and start giving us AAA games and maybe indie games every so often not everytime and if they can’t do it well looks like Xbox one has got them beat due to releasing AAA almost every time. So could be they time for the switch if things don’t change and frankly the switch would be cheaper on my wallet.
If some of you guys hate the game line ups every month then why not leave? If you don’t want to leave then don’t check the free games then get mad when they don’t meet your unreasonably high expectations of AAA games that can’t be free without major companies losing a lot of money.
What the ****?!?! I just bought Zombi last month!!! I should get a partial refind or credit towards another purchase…

xbox is getting the wolf among us while we’re getting this crap that isn’t worth the hard drive space it’d occupy
I wouldn’t mind having Knack as a free playstation plus game next month. Battlefield 4 would be great and I’d love to see it as a free playstation plus game but I wouldn’t be surprised if it isnt selected as a free game in coming months.
Psn won’t let me download the free games for April. What the hell
