PlayStation Plus: Free Games for March 2016

Well, you’ve done it again! After an exciting Vote to Play campaign, PlayStation Plus users have selected Broforce as the first title in March’s PS4 free games lineup. You picked it, you got it!

If you’re a fan of the other two games, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Assault Android Cactus and Action Henk will be available for PlayStation Plus members with a 30% discount from March 8th to March 21st.

So what can you expect as a bro in Broforce? You’ll fight evil and rescue bro teammates using fire, napalm, and whatever else you find in the name of freedom. We hope you enjoy this run ‘n’ gun shooter with up to four of your closest bros.

Next up, Galak-Z, a two dimensional sci-fi shooter taken to the next level. Pilot your ship through this physics-driven, procedurally generated world while surviving several enemy factions. Wait, did I mention that your ship can transform into a laser sword-wielding Mech? Can this get any better? (Hint: Stay tuned for exciting news about Galak-Z in the coming weeks.)

make online free, stop it! you are doing nobody a favour with those indie games.
indiegames = 2013, we dont like getting snowed under garbage indies.
broforce is ok, but this list further reinforces that Sony has simply given up with Plus. It’s basically a chore at this point. It’s been bad for like 6 months straight now.
sony gave up, so please just cancel the whole service ps plus, make online free again or deliver better games like
knack, alien isolation, Titan Souls, Hotline Miami 2, The Escapist, TWD 1, Saints Row, Murdered, Shovel Knight, Wolf among us, Old Blood, Thief, Armello, Metro Redux, Rayman, Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Sherlock Holmes, Tomb Raider 2013, New Order, Unwritten Tales 2, Dishonored, Evolve, Knack, KZ, Infamous, Prototype, Evil Within, Devil May Cry and so on…

  Third comment I’ve seen of this person going on for something free. He was harping of wanting Knack, which has been on several sales for less than $10. He’s a trophy level 4 and has only really played FIFA. Not even a PS+ subscriber, doesn’t have a PS+ symbol next to his name. This RayDonovan_- is a cheapskate.

I know a lot if people haven’t upgraded but it’s been over 2 years since the PS4’s launch. Might it be time to start phasing out at least the PS3 games in favour of the PS4 titles? Dropping a title from the Vita and PS3 lineup a month could theoretically free up the PS4 list for something that isn’t a $10 rougelike. Personally, these past few months have been terrible with this current format.

Broforce: Looks like fun, wan’t my top vote but I’m sure it’ll be great.
Flame Over: Not a fan of rouge-like type games (because I stink at them) but I’ll give it a shot
Galak-Z: Playing through it already. Great presentation and gameplay.
The Last Guy: Never seen a game like this before, looks interesting.
Reality Fighters: I may end up playing this game just for the screen grabs I can get.
SuperStardust HD: Bought this game a while ago and it still holds up. Makes me happy other people will get a chance to play it. I own the vita version as well where the gameplay is just as good. One of the best twin stick shooters I’ve ever played.

Gotta say guys; this looks like a pretty solid lineup.

Wahhhhhhhhh. Waaaaahhhhhhhh. Every. Freaking. Month. I honestly hope you guys stop offering these “free” games because it’s so annoying listening to everyone complain about them even tho they’re usually pretty excellent games.

That being said, pretty pumped about Flame Over. I completely forgot about that one as it was buried by Destiny shenanigans for me when it came out. Super Stardust HD is awesome, Galak-Z is challenging but rewarding and I’m looking forward to checking out Broforce.

I have to say, I bought Galak-Z on day one, and I loved it. I would put it in my top 10 games of the year last year, and I voted for it for my favorite Digital game last year in the poll on this webstie. Giantbomb.com had it as it’s winner for best style, and it was a nominee for top 10 overall game of the year(it didn’t make their final list). Everyone should give it a shot, and at least try it out. It is really good.

I’ve..literally only heard of two of these. will still get them and keep plus becasue I like the service, buuut I have a gaming PC now, so I’ve not..even turned on my PS4 in months save for the WWE network X3

Still, will probably play Broforce some, as I have no money for more PC games atm.

Do some people appreciate the Indies yes, but overwhelming majority of comments every PS Plus games reveal for past year are negative. I remember the glory days of PS Plus in 2012 on the PS3 Sly Cooper & the Thievius Raccoonus, Far Cry 2, Super Street Fighter II, Shank 2, Shift 2, Trine 2, Just Cause 2, Saints Row 2, Walking Dead, Ratchet & Clank All 4 One, Warhammer Space Marine, InFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Gotham City Imposters, Borderlands, Starhawk, Payday the Heist, Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition to name a few. Nothing of that stellar offering has been offered on PS Plus since. Some of the games you can say may have been indies, but at least they were great indies and not some 8-bit offering that is too polarizing. Offering a mediocre AAA or AA game is fine, because you didn’t pay for it, but it allowed for people to discover games they may not have tried like in case of Warhammer Space Marine or PayDay or Starhawk. Sony you got me by the you know what since I play multiplayer and need Plus, but you are not helping your image. Because the network issues and downtime certainly don’t give me value for my money if I was just paying for multiplayer like Xbox users back in the day before they had Gold Games.

I think this is my first time posting about the PS+ titles. Everyone’s reactions are a little too binary these days (either “everyone is entitled” or “the service is awful”), but I have to at least speak up and say that it’s been a disappointing few months. I really enjoy indie games, and I hope you continue to pepper the IGC with them in the future (sometimes I’m exposed to great games that I would have missed), but it’s been awhile since I’ve been genuinely excited by the offerings, especially this month. At the very least, it’d be great to see more variation in games outside of side-scrollers and adventure titles. There once was a time when I counted down the days to the PS+ titles going live; these days I have to remember to “save” them to my account and maybe I’ll download them later.

I know it’s not easy lining up these deals, and that you don’t always know what Games for Gold will offer. Now that the PS4 has been out for 3 years, bumping the PS3 titles down to 1 or offering PS2 classics on PS4 could help. Just my two cents, and I figure it only helps if those of us unsatisfied speak up. Keep up the great work otherwise, especially with the PS+ sales.

Ok.. I’ve been pretty happy for PS plus offering for many months.. but the last few months have been horrid… And to top it all… this month’s Xbox Games with Gold are AMAZING… Lords of The Fallen, Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments, Borderlands…I mean… come ONNN sony! I changed from xbox 360 to ps4 and so far I’ve been pretty happy with the change… but pick up the pace in this area pleas!

Why are japanese games getting the cold shoulder? Seriously, I’m not saying get rid of the indies but some middle market japanese games would be nice.

Also where are the PS2 games? This would be a gold mine for Sony to put popular PS2 games, people would subscribe if we got Silent Hill 2 and Persona 3 or Gran Turismo 3.

I’m a big fan of indie games but I have to admit that I regret renewing my subscription this year. The issue for me isn’t that there are too many indies, but that they are all 2-d sidescrolling/top down shooters or rogue-lites. There are other types of indie games.

Why not something like Hand of Fate, White Night, Gone Home Console Edition, or other indie games that, let’s be honest, aren’t really going to be moving many more units on the PS store than they already have.

I am normally defending the selections, but this lineup is truly awful. Not a single game that’s recognizable to me. Please, please, please no more arcade-style games. I just hate feeling like I’m in the 1980’s when I play games.I don’t have much nostalgia and I don’t like games with terrible graphics.

I cant understand why Sony dont care about Vita Owners, we spend same Real Money like ps4 players, there’s 10/15 millions of Vita Owners, think about that Sony…

Another good month. People expecting only AAA games should seriously consider moving to other platforms. What you’re getting with Plus are good, fun games, whether they’re new, old, or “not AAA”.

I like Indie games, really, buy then them on steam and psn sometimes, love Don’t Starve, Super Meat Boy, Darkest Dungeon, home Alone, etc. I don’t have a PS4, so IGC is the only reason why a pay for ps+. This month I paid for nothing…

Psn basically gives us rubbish games month on month.

Very happy about Broforce and Galak-Z, was really looking forward to the first game and voted for it, and while the second game piqued my interest I never would have bought it, so I’m happy to try if for free. Reality Fighters on Vita though, that’s a totally ancient Vita games that was total shovelware garbage, I don’t blame PS+ subscribers for being upset this month, that’s pretty much an insult to offer that game for free to anyone.

I signed up for PSN+ 4 or so years ago for the ‘free’ games. Was so much quality stuff. The last year has been so awful for PSN+

I’m going to let me sub run out in a couple months, since the games haven’t been improving, it feels like they get worse every month. I don’t think they’ve even given away any PS4 games I would want to help encourage me to buy a PS4.
Would be great if they gave away the KZ shadowfall or Infamous SS on PSN+
Even Knack would be better than the stuff we get now.

The Two PS+ offerings are great. I ignored Broforce but I can’t complain that it’s free. Devolver Digital are a bunch of cool people, so see them at PAX if you get the chance.
