  • This is a great $50 dollar drop in price, but for how long this price will be before it jumps back to $399.99 or will it remain $50 dollars cheaper. Oh wait the PSVR will be expensive so making sure we all get an PS4 for cheaper cause when PSVR releases it will cost as much as an new next gen console. Would like to see the PS4 bundle with PSVR now that would be intresting in retail price and price drops. It’s going to happen. It’s just going to get more expensive so save your money cause a big price jump will be here soon..:( But I love my PS4

    • It’s a permanent price drop. Sony doesn’t lower prices then jack them up like microsoft did for a month when they found out how big the sales drop off was after the announcement.

Over the decades sony does 50-100 dollar reductions on their console consecutively. 349.99 will be the new price and come next year the 500gb will be 299.99, and 1 tb 349.99. Or they may faze the 500gb out all together.

The longest we will have to wait to see 299.99 PS4 will be 2017. But I think because of how short they want the cycle to be I for see them dropping it again next year, if they have too that it.

    • @ACETHEOUTLAW

“Sony doesn’t lower prices then jack them up”

No, but they launched the PS4 at $400, then raised it to $450, then “lowered” it to $430. So it’s still more than it was when it released. Xbox is still $80 cheaper, this tiny price drop isn’t going to move units.

  • Hello everyone!

I want to pick up a PS4 bundle. However, I have a few requirements:

At least 1TB HDD (or good deal on a 500GB and upgrade)
Must come with a physical copy of a game
Must be the new console model (I believe CUH-1200 is the newer model, but if I am wrong, please correct me)

Will the 1TB Black Ops bundle be the new hardware model CUH-1200 for North America regions? I have not been able to find that information anywhere else. Or do any of the bundles currently released in NA include the CUH-1200 model?

    Thank you!

  • MEGATON! Go Sony Go!

  • Will I get my Star Wars bundle for $399.99 instead of $449.99 even if I already pre-ordered it? Quick response would be appreciated, thanks.

  • Cool. That is some weird Canada prices. $20 CAD on some model where others are $80 CAD off.

I don’t need a PS4, but if I did, not a terrible deal. 1 GB for the price of the old 500gb model.

    • you shouldn’t waste money buying the higher gb models because yo u can change your own hd for dirt cheap and its covered under Sony warranty and it takes like 5 seconds

  • good news to those who havent own ps4 yet, but I thought discount was about games also not only ps4

  • Good on you Sony. Finally realizing they might have some competition this Christmas.

  • Whoo! I’m picking up the Nathan Drake bundle sometime in November, and I’m psyched it’ll be $50 cheaper. GameStop and/or Amazon will uphold this price change, right?

    • never buy anything from gamestop they abuse gamers

    • Agree with darkside there. GameStop indeed abuses, realized it when tried to sell them my used game and seeing how much that used game actually is in GameStop shelf. Then I found other ways to sell my used games to not use GameStop.

  • Why is the Black Ops bundle only dropping $20 instead of $50? It’s the only reasonably good looking custom console that’s being released for the holiday. I was planning on maybe getting one, but not for a $30 premium over the other “limited” edition consoles.

  • Everytime I get a new console the price drops within 2 months.

    • That’s life, but it does suck. Maybe you should start buying consoles AFTER they announce price drops, instead of before? The prices will only ever keep going down, not up. Everyone who buys one of these cheaper consoles is going to pay more than the next wave of price drops, probably next year’s holiday season.
Did you at least get a limited edition console that’s no longer available?

  • Will any of these new bundles or systems be running on new model numbers or with that 1TB we’ve been waiting for?

  • @TwinDad. Thank you. Much appreciated!

@EthanBenard. I would think so. From where did you preorder it? If it is a site like Amazon I would check your order or contact them after tomorrow (Oct 9th) when the price drop goes live. The price will still be listed at $499.99 through today I think.

    • Edit: Should read $449.99, not $499.99.

    • I think you should look at the chart a little closer! The price drop for the Black Ops bundle doesn’t drop till November 6th. If you look at the chart properly the date at the end of the bundle name is when that particular one will have a price drop. They are not all dropping at the same time.

    • Never mind I take back what I said.. lol. I mixed up a bit, just one of those days. Sorry. And instead of deleting what I had posted I own up to my mistake.

  • Due to our lower currency, a $50 discount in Canada still would’ve been a smaller discount than $50 US. But they couldn’t even do that. $20?? (which is $15USD??) WOW.

In the US that $50 can go to a new $50 game. $20 CAN doesn’t go very far towards a new game here which is $80.

    SONY HATES CANADA

  • Looks like they got rid of the gloss?

  • Just Googled it and $50 USD = $65 CDN, why isn’t the drop proportional? Where does the $20 figure come from? I feel so bad for Canada, first the price is raised and the argument is that the price must reflect the US value, but now the US price drop gets the opposite treatment in Canada and is valued at about $15 USD. The whole proportional thing only applies when it’s convenient for Sony’s wallets I guess?

    • Overall $430 CAD = $330 USD because the CAD is very weak at the moment, thats why the reduction is so little for Canada.

    • It’s utter garbage. We work the same hours for 65% of the pay of Americans. And Sony expects us to pony up money above and beyond what Americans pay? Please. I don’t have that much interest in the ps4 to ignore the fact that we’re getting a stupidly raw deal.

Not cool Sony, go choke on your price reduction.

    • Wow you’re right, it is 330 = 430… Damn Canada, what are you doing?

    • Just so you know and understand a little better the price is not raised, in Canada they pay full retail price and always have unlike here in the US. Don’t buy into their crying about it cause its nothing new for them.

    • @girflet – Currency is all relative – whether you like it or not, $430 Canadian IS THE SAME PRICE AS 330 US. You think everything should be priced according to what people earn? By your logic they should sell it for $50 in Greece, now the economy there has sunk. I suggest you read some material on Economics…

  • I have black ops 3 bundle on preorder, but it’s at the original price. Will the price change be refunded or should I cancel it and re order?

  • I assume Europe will have to wait. As usual.

  • Question will Amazon price drop the ps4 too?

  • Nice, Now it will be a little easier to get a second PS4. So the wife and I can Finally game together.

  • Will there be a cheaper non-bundle version?

Say maybe $20 cheaper instead of outright $50 cheaper for the “value” of the bundled game. That way from a marketing standpoint people looking to buy their first one can justify spending the extra money on the bundle, but people who already have one (and it breaks) can just go the slightly cheaper route. Or people who just plain don’t want whatever games are currently bundled can save a little money and go buy the game they really want.

  • Hey!, Hoosers blame your Candian
Government for high currency spikes. Do you think Sony or Microsoft just through out a random prices,
lol. So stop blaming the product makers, get of your cans and hold your Canadian Government accountable.

    • Xbox One is $349 though, I don’t really see any reason that PS4 needs to be $100 (now $80) more.

    • Easier said than done. Why don’t you hold your American Government accountable for all the crap they’ve shoved down your throats too?

    • Oh. Trust us we do blame the Conservative Harper Government.
Election is coming up and he needs to go.
We got the slowest economic growth since the great depression. Everyone else is doing fine.
He has been screwing up the country ever since he got elected. They need a new leader.

    • They will piss and moan about the economy and their taxes, but none of them are willing to give up their social entitlement programs and benefits. The future of Canada is the current Greece if they are not careful.

  • freaking lame i just bought mine a few months ago for 400 bucks uuuuuh thanks alot sony for nothing how about compensating those of us that can show we only had it for not even half a year!

    • Why shoyld you expect compensation ?. You should have waited, everyone knows a price would come. You didn’t want to wait so live with your purchase. I brought mines last year because I wanted to but I’m not looking to get over. It’s nothing like the Kinect fiasco, Microsoft lied about the Kinect. Being apart of the system tnat wasn’t an accessory and couldn’t be unbundled. Now thoes consumers that only wanted the XBox One and not the kinect, should be compensated.

  • “Nintendo force fed the developers a weird controller”

Do you really have to take shots at the competition to prove a point? Touchscreens aren’t weird at all; DS has one, 3DS has one, Vita has one, phones and tablets use them. The Wii U controller is certainly more normal than the Wii Remote. It has all the same buttons as every other controller, with the only addition being a touchscreen. The PS4 controller has a touchpad but no one complains about that.

I guess the DS and 3DS alienated developers also because they were too different from normal handhelds. Oh wait they didn’t.

  • “we have been thrilled with the amount of gamers jumping into the world of PlayStation for the first time.”

I’m pretty sure most gamers joined PlayStation during the PS1 and PS2 eras. Both of those consoles sold over 120 million units.

  • FINALLYYY. Gonna be gettin one of these babies reeeeal soon!

  • What if we bought our Destiny PS4 bundle less than a week ago, but just right after they discontinued the deal with a copy of MGSV for free? This sucks man I feel like I spent an extra $50 for nothing since now they’re dropping the system itself to $350 tomorrow. Guess I’m just unlucky…

  • Dear whiners: You either buy consoles at launch and enjoy them the whole time, or buy them right after a price drop. If you do anything else you only have YOURSELVES to blame for not being financially astute.

    • Bingo! You speak the truth. All of you crying babies, listen up. This is how the console business works.
If you don’t understand this, then you only have yourselves to blame.
Try to get a price check or refund from your store. If they don’t honor it, you’re S.O.L.

  • This is an awesome deal. Too bad I already have two PS4s. Don’t really need a third.

  • I pre-order the ps4 uncharted bundle last week for pick up tomorrow. Do i get a refund ?since i paid 400$ and i dont think is fair for me to pay 400. So do i get a refund ?

  • I pre-order the ps4 uncharted bundle last week for pick up tomorrow. Do i get a refund ?since i paid 400$ and i dont think is fair for me to pay 400. So do i get a refund ???

    • Are you done spamming this question yet? ASK THE STORE YOU BOUGHT IT FROM!
No one here knows the answer, you don’t even say where you bought it from. SMH

  • What about PlayStation 4 The Last of Us Remastered Bundle?

  • How come the taken king bundle isn’t included in the price drop? That goes for the arkham knight bundle as well….

  • “we look forward to many hours of gaming this holiday season and beyond”

Provided we dont have more jackasses aka LizardSquad event.

  • GameStop has the brand new military appreciation PS4 bundle which is a 500GB PS4, 2 controllers (black and camo), NBA 2K15 and The Last of Us for only $399.99.

  • Thank you, Sony. I have been with you since the beginning and the “You are not red-E” commercial days. I’ve owned every system and am buying the Uncharted bundle tomorrow. I was at GameStop to buy the Last of Us bundle today and the lady told me about the sale. Well, now I can get Uncharted 1-3, Mast of Us, and Tomb Raider. That will keep me busy for weeks to come. Thank you for all the memories and future ones too.

  • Already pre-order the Star Wars Battlefront Limited Edition PS4 Bundle a few weeks before they announced the $50 price drop. Does that mean instead of paying $450, I will be paying $400 for it?

  • will there be more bundle for $350

  • I’m seriously disgusted with Sony and how it’s rolled out the Canadian releases. We’ve been over a 100 dollars more since the launch and that was when our dollar was at or just below par the US.They gave some stupid excuse back then as well and have never really had a good sale.

  • About time great job guys keep up the gr8 work =D

  • There is a Military Appreciation 500GB PS4 bundle out right now at gamestop. It is a 500gb PS4 with 2 controllers (black and camo), nba 2k15 and the last of us for only $399.99.

  • Question for Mr. Koller. There are a few Gamestops around me that have the Destiny: Taken King bundles left. Will the prices on those drop as well?

  • yay the debut of ps4 slim is getting closer

  • Is the Destiny: Taken king bundle, getting the drop as well?

  • Not much different for Canada.
I guess we have our government to blame for the poor economic growth.
    Vote for change.

  • Yeah whatever. Thanks for next to nothing, from Canada.

  • lol sony sucks this holiday. call me in march when yall release a real AAA i cant play on ps3 or pc.

  • What about the Destiny bundle?

  • awesome

will the PS4 call of duty Bundle be using the newer Models of PS4(CUH 1200 and UP? or will some still be using older models like CUH 1115?)

  • They should give everyone that has bought the 4 in the last 90 days a digital copy of the game of their choice! I feel so taken advantage of! I bought the 4 at the end of July to add to my PS2 and my PS3

  • I love “old school” games ;) especially if purchased with discounted gift cards ;)
