Experience E3 2015 Live in Theaters on June 15th

UPDATE: Since we’ve received a lot of comments asking which movie theaters will be participating, we’ve added the list to the bottom of this post. As a reminder, tickets will be made available at http://playstation.com/e3experience tomorrow (Wednesday, May 27th) at 9:00am PT.

Whenever I interact with the PlayStation community I’m always struck by their passion and excitement for gaming. I saw this firsthand at E3 2014, when I teamed up with PlayStation and Fathom Events to bring the E3 Press Conference live to over 10,000 fans around the country as part of the PlayStation E3 Experience in movie theaters. It was amazing to see fans line up all across America to experience the news and announcements live with others in the community.

This year I’m happy to announce that the PlayStation E3 Experience will return on Monday, June 15. Due to the quick sell-outs in 2014, we will be staging it in significantly more theaters — and yes, it will still be free. Last year tickets in most markets sold out in 15 minutes or less, so for 2015 we are increasing the number of theaters by more than 150%, with at least one theater in every state across the US — including Hawaii and Alaska — plus 3 cities in Canada.

Experience E3 2015 Live in Theaters on June 15th

You and fellow members of the PlayStation community will get to see the full PlayStation E3 press conference in HD on the big screen, plus there are special bonuses for those who come out to the theater experience. I’ll be hosting an exclusive 30-minute in-theater post show with extended footage and interviews with developers, and everyone who attends will take home a PlayStation surprise, which will consist of PlayStation goods and digital codes we can’t disclose yet. (Last year attendees received early access to the Destiny Alpha and Battlefield: Hardline beta, along with a great poster and VIP laminate).

To make it fair to everyone in the community, this year we are giving you advance notice of ticket sales. Free tickets will be made available on Wednesday, May 27 starting at 9:00 a.m. PT at playstation.com/e3experience. Eighty percent of theater capacity will be reserved for ticket holders, with 20% of the theater held for those on the wait list, who will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. We saw the big lines last year and want to make sure that everyone has a fair chance to be in the theater.

The PlayStation.Blog guys also tell me that their big PlayStation LiveCast show will be back again in a big way, kicking off with the PlayStation Press Conference on June 15th, starting at 5:45 p.m. Pacific Time. They’ll have plenty of game demos, new trailers, and developer interviews over the next three days – and you’ll be able to watch on your PS4 or PS3 using the Live Events Viewer app, too. Stay tuned for more details.

  • I went last year. It was fun. Gonna try to get tickets this year too.

  • I hope you have it in Erie PA this time. So that i can go.

  • Is there anything for Vita? Or should we(vita owners) not bother?

  • Been to one last year, amazing experience. @NovinWorks

  • Every state? Even WV?

  • @Geoff Keighley

“We are going to post the theater list on Wednesday when you can reserve your seats. Check back on 5/27 at 9 AM PT.”

Then you better hope that those last 7 are in the big states. California, Florida, Texas, just to name a few aren’t exactly postage sized states like the colonials which will likely have several clustered together.

I have my fingers crossed however.

  • Great to hear Sony is doing another event like last year. I was fortunate enough to be able to go to that one and I still have my laminate. I’d like to know where Hello Games is with their much anticipated ‘No Man’s Sky’. I wonder what games everyone else are looking forward to?

  • Make PS2 classics playable on Vita & PS4

  • Would anyone be able to confirm at least in which 3 cities in Canada this will take place?

  • @19 “I am looking forward to your presentation at E3. Please announce a 1) 2TB PS4, 2) that those who brought games digitally on PS3 will get it on PS Now at no additional cost, 3) that you will be removing the 10% OS reserve for PS3, 4) that external HDD support for PS3 and PS4 to individually backup and loan games, 5) the ability to link Ultraviolet to PS Video, 6) a PS1, PS2, and P3 emulator, and 7) 2 step verification for PSN. Thanks.”

um…. 1 – get a job and buy a $100 Seagate Momentus 2 TB drive off Amazon like everyone else… 2) It’s bought, not brought, and why do you need it on PS Now, or were you an idiot and tossed your PS3? 3) How are they supposed to remove that w/o removing the OS itself moron? ANd hard drives never give you the full amount. 4) um we can already plug in a hard drive and backup the systems….. as for loaning games, buy them on disc, then you can give your friend the disc. You can’t loan digital stupid… 5) no one cares 6) oh look another moron you thinks you dont’ need the hardware from previous consoles to have a BC console 7) a checkout page isn’t enough? Or do you just blindly click things? And you can set a friggin password for checkout….

  • Woo its so close, I am just waiting for the the next Playstation Experience announcement! can’t wait.

  • Any hints about the Canadian cities??!

  • I hope theres one in the greater Atlanta area This year. I didnt get to be on the list last year but it was a theater to far away.

  • @DragonIrons #60 I feel your comments are offensive. It is ok to disagree with me but it is not ok to call me stupid, idiot, and a moron. You also seem to be very angry. Embrace love!

  • @Jellypistol46

Last years were Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. I’d be surprised if they were different.

  • ……N-not in the UK/EU? Whaaaat about next year then? :D

  • Will probably be going with a few friends to San Francisco (or with a larger group if a San Jose theater happens).

@50 This is the E3 Experience, not the PlayStation version of E3 they had in Vegas.

@66 E3 is a US event and this press conference is happening a 6PM Pacific aka 9PM Eastern aka 2AM in UK…

  • Will there be a supporting theatre in Puerto Rico?

  • * Link saved in Bookmarks
    * Phone alarm set to remind me at 10:55 CST on 5/27
    * Finger primed to F5 every 3 seconds until I can register

  • Can you order tickets for your friends?

  • Will Toronto be one of the three cities in Canada? Please reply. :)

  • I realy hope this comes to Jacksonville fl, huge fan of the ps vita

  • Any chance this will be happening in Canada? We love Playstation as well.

  • Please work on the stream quality this year. Last year it was a stuttering choppy mess. Still enjoyed my time though and will definitely go again this year. Thanks for doing this!

  • I think it would be a lot smarter to release the list of theaters ahead of time so you don’t have your website crash when you have a ton of hits on the page at once. But, hey, if you want people complaining on your FB, Twitter and blog page, that’s up to you.

  • looking forward to going again this year.

  • Hey I have one question I have a son who’s 13 and it says must be 17 or over but if he has adult guidance could he go ?

  • I’m guessing the Canadian cities will be Van, Toronto, and Edmonton… Nowhere near me.

  • Only 3 in Canada? Okay, so Vancouver, either Cal/Edm, and Toronto…

but I think this is the best you guys have done so… it’s an improvement.

Maybe in a decade or so you’ll visit Winnipeg and I’ll be able to attend the event.

  • Please have one come to Denton, TX. I went to the even last year in theaters in Dallas and while it was awesome, I had to drive nearly 35 miles to get there. I live in town and it would be nice if you guys had a theater here in Denton where I could anticipate with other gamers again.

    Can’t wait for E3!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you have to be 18 to attend?

  • It would be nice to have the list of theaters so we can decide whether we want to try and attend BEFORE you guys open the floodgates.

Also, is it going to be possible to reserve more than one ticket at once? My best friend and I might both want to attend, so obviously it would be easier if one of us could reserve both tickets in one order.

  • will this be in every theater in California

  • This is so frustrating! I’d love to be part of something like this but I know for a fact it won’t be in my area.

Not even looking for the free stuff, just the mimic experience of being at the E3 conference with a theater full of fans …. man I’d love to have been at one 2 years ago when they had announced the PS4’s sharing …

sadly, 3 cities in canada = no chance for me =/

  • plus can i go even though im 12 P.S. i pre-ordered a ps4 befor it came out and got it the day it came out

  • It sucks that its not in Tampa. Don’t feel like driving to Miami or orlando.

  • These initiatives are really awesome. My only complaint – Is there any mention of this happening in Australia? It would be unreal to take a ‘long lunch’ and go and watch this event! For the last 4 years, I have taken the morning off work to sit down and stream it at home. I love being ‘there’, watching Jack announce something cool, listening to a Dev hype up a new game – or something the of the like. So… it would be amazing if this was available in Australia.

  • HeathStevens_69

I might have to try and go to this. I can’t wait to see Battlefront & No Man’s Sky. #DRMB #OSD #PSMVP #PlayStation4Life

  • Instead of doing stuff like this, why not put PR/capital into actual first party titles?

  • It’s not only inconvenient, but counter-productive not to release a theatre list prior to the opening of ticket reservations, especially if expanding the number of venues is a response to the success of last year’s event. You’re going to have a flood of people cramming onto the site to see *if they can even attend* at the same time people are vying to get tickets. This is ridiculous; please reconsider.

  • It says you must be 17 years or older to attend but if you’re younger are you allowed to attend with an adult?
Really excited to hear about what’s coming in the future. Hoping to hear about some CoD DLC exclusivity!

  • Any theather in Puerto Rico?

  • PlayStation why is it free and wouldn’t that sell out quickly.

  • why never where I live since you shut down home this years problem will be a fun streaming place like the past I expect a bad turn out this year I protest

  • where are the theaters????

  • What cities in Canada? I think last year it was just Toronto and Montreal. Hoping London, Ontario gets some this time but I won’t hold my breath.

  • Will this have info on Playstation Experience that was open to everyone in Vegas? I would love to attend again this year.

  • Please don’t forget Austin tx playstation

  • PlayStation will always be apart of my life and this event I need to attend. I will be standing by for details on the 27th!!!

  • Could Puerto Rico possibly be included in the list??

Please enter your date of birth.
