PS Plus: Free Games for March 2015

Another collection of excellent games joins PlayStation Plus this month, and you’ve come to the right place for details!

Starting things off on PS4 is Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee — New ‘n’ Tasty! This side-scrolling adventure reboots the PlayStation classic with new visuals, new sound, enhanced controls, and even more dark humor than before. Also coming to the PS4 lineup is Valiant Hearts: The Great War. This colorful puzzle game carries with it a heavy subject matter, as it follows four intersecting lives (and a loyal canine companion) during the first World War.

On PS3, gamers with PS Plus can download the critically-acclaimed Papo & Yo, alongside the wit-inducing Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. And on PS Vita, watch out for OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood and CounterSpy.

These games will be available for Plus members when PlayStation Store updates later today.

  • Great lineup for the PS4, I just wish you would give the Vita some love. Its a great system and it has some great games. Please give us something good for the Vita next month!

  • Decent list. If I only have a PS4, I would totally play the heck out of Oddworld. I haven’t even played the original, so the remake will be totally be worth play.

@Gnostic_Prick The one that is trolling is you, you lying sack of wasted flesh. Have fun not playing PS4 online anymore. You’re nothing but a scum bag yourself. How much of an idiot are you? I rather boycott your stupid head.

  • Thanks for Oddworld, the rest of the free games are not my style (thank you anyway though). Love the Lego sale, me and my boys will be getting down with some Lego Batman 3!

  • Quite a good line up for PS3 this time around, but Papo & Yo is not showing up as a free game in the playstation store.

  • Also, I love how people are complaining over small stuff. It’s not like Nintendo is doing any better and their service is shutting down by the end of this month.

    @notsotaku More trolling, yay~~

@LUCIFERSGLEAM If you don’t have the Playstation Plus logo, why do you even care? You’re not subscribed so get out of here. Must be an excuse for you to troll and mislead others.

  • Well, my ps4 is quickly showing itself to be a waste of money. What a terrible selection of games.

  • disappointed more indie slop and skeleton garbage….oi vey Papo & Yo is garbage. only decent one is odd world.

  • I can understand why Sony can only offer mostly indies on the ps4 being its a fairly newish console. Cant really get mad at them. But what a slap in the face to people who still have the PS3. Theirs hundreds of good AAA titles and you give them an indie and a half defend mystery game.

  • Abe’s Odyssey!?!?!
    Are you kidding me!!!

    I love you guys!!!

  • I want more sony of console exclusives all the free indie games are garbage. Not playing most of them. or at least ps3/xbox and ps4/xbone exclusives.

  • NICE.

  • To all the haters: It’s a MONTHLY service. I have been a PS+ user since launch day and have received over $1500 in games!!!! How anyone complains is beyond me. I have countless full retail games I havent even had time to play yet between my ps4, ps3, and vita and pstv. The service is the reason my hard drive is full!!! Whoever said the competition is giving away better games is nuts. Majority of the games with gold i get are deleted within a few days. Uncharted, infamous, little big planet, street fighter, starhawk, hitman, injustice:gods among us, need for speed, yakuza, prototype, etc etc. Sony gives away more full AAA games than ANY console maker out there. I’m no fanboy, I love all my consoles, but you just can’t argue that club nintendo or games with gold comes even close to PS+.

  • This isn’t a terrible lineup but I would like to see a AAA titles in the future. Like maybe Infamous Second Son? A title that is about 1 year old?

  • I have a question for the people who are disappointed with the lineup.

    How about explain why?

I don’t think they are going to consider (hope not) those “indie is crap’ type of posts.

  • Beyond two souls
    resident evil 6
    mortal kombat
    twisted metal
    octodad
    hoHokum

Here is a short list of games I would want in the future from plus

  • To those complaining and using the competition’s AAA lineup as an argument:

Remember that Both Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite have already been a part of IGC offerings last year. Rayman Legends, I’ll give you that. Expect it to be a part of PS4’s IGC in the near future.

And I envy you guys, having all the time to game and complain. I can’t even finish Child of Light.

  • Also, hooray for Oddworld! Now I only have to wait for the Vita version to come out.

  • quality > quanity
just because its valued at a certain number of currency doesn’t mean I’ll want to play the games, value in terms of money doesn’t mean **** when I can’t resell the games, so I only get the value of if I can plan them or not. and enjoy it. so most of these games don’t pass that.

Odd world is a **** remake guess thats entertaining to some people not me.

Papo & yoyo is a ****** art skelton/sjw game about ptsd, no thanks.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments looks like a decent game but I don’t particularly give a **** about it so it doesn’t pass not worth the bandwidth.

CounterSpy is a ****** indie game that isn’t even worth installing, the same for the other literally neither are worth even downloading imo.

I want more console and ps4, ps3, and vita exclusives and less indie garbage. literally not even worth buying even when its free.

  • In vase any PlayStation TV owners are interested…

OlliOlli 2 does NOT work on the PSTV
CounterSpy DOES work on the PSTV

I wish more developers, especially Sony would allow more games to work on the PSTV, especially those which don’t even use touch controls, though those are also very doable on the PSTV as well.

  • since apparently this will be more productive, going to comment decent choices I want personally.
    ps4
the order 1886 since its going to be a flop, and there’s no way I’m paying 60 dollars for a 4 hour game.
    dying light
saints row: gat out of hell
    evolve
even monopoly would be better than these games
    shadow warrior
    battle field 4
    watchdogs
    plants vs zombies garden warfare
    sniper elite 3
    diablo III
    AC 4 black flag
    bound by flame
    resident evil remake
    kill al zombies
    assassins creed freedom cry
    natural doctrine
    ps3
metal gear solid 4 guns of the patriots
    beyond two souls
    enslaved journey west
    assassins creed 3
    persona 4 arena
    bayonetta
    demon’s souls
dead rising 2 or off the record

that’s about all I put on my list a lot of good ps3 games and these are the choices…disappointing.

  • Yay Oddworld! The other ps4 game sounds great too.

  • These games are just gutter trash compared to last month. I love indie games….. when they’re done well. Valiant Hearts is the only thing noteworthy but even that isn’t something im interested in but im sure other people will different, the others are just added shovel ware that’s not fit to be sold.

Abe at his prime wasn’t a good game. It’s an over glorified, overrated, Indie game to the core. Clunky platforming galore with a subpar story. What does Sony give to you guys to work with? Are you guys purposely picking games that people won’t buy? Going on a bit of a rant here, but overall since I had ps+ for the ps4, I feel like it couldn’t hold a candle in the quality of games released by comparison to ps3.

I want to believe that someone has decent taste in games that works for this department. If I wanted to play shovel ware, I’d pull out my phone and go to the app store. This isn’t something I should expect from a company who supposedly dominated E3.

  • Fantastic this line up is great it was worth the small wait. To all of the people who are irritated that it was late just be glad that sony gives us new free games every month. Be happy

  • Wow… 4 games!!!… I am so happy I started Playstation Plus when I finally got my PS4 last month. It is so worth it. If it will always be like this, I’ll totally be a lifetime member! Love love love Playstation!

  • Well, I have 2 PS3s so technically I get 6 games!!!

  • I’ve been putting off paying full price for Oddworld in the hope that eventually it would come to PS+.

One very happy PS4 owner today. Kudos Sony!!! ?

  • The PS3 version of sherlock (that I picked up on launch) was an absolute mess. Bug ridden, and graphical quality that belonged in a PS2 game. Hopefully this has been resolved, otherwise the game was barely worth playing, and made it seem like ‘last’ gen didn’t matter.

  • Are you serious? is this what i get for my ps+ subscription the past 2 lineups for ps4 has been really bad ughh.

  • olli olli 2 makes up for the wait!! counter spy is pretty sweet too. As for the guy whining that xbox got AAA titles, well we got those titles LAST year. thx playstation sweet month.

  • Where has Dishonored gone from this list? Still happy with it though, but Dishonored would of made it 10 times better, https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2015/03/03/playstation-plus-march-oddworld-dishonored-olliolli-2/?emcid=social_20150303_41443476&adbid=572841800475529216&adbpl=tw&adbpr=36969785

Look the original post had Dishonored in!

  • Nice selection, but it seems my support of indie and smaller dev’s games is coming back to bite me as I already have owned and played all of these. It’s a shame that being a well rounded gamer is actually making my PS+ less good value than if I only played a couple of games every few months.

  • ^ Except Olli Olli 2 of course.

  • Whilst only Valiant Hearts is the only game on the list that interests me it doesn’t mean the games are of poor choice. All the titles available for this month ARE solid games, in score, gameplay and review. (Of which, I’m thankful for the variety and for smaller developers getting a little more light in this ever darkening ‘AAA’ game world.)

And those who keep suggesting games to be in next months, just can it. The majority of you have missed the boat by a few months as games suggested have already been apart of PS+’s monthly line-up. But, then again, I suspect those same people would probably miss the boat second time around because they’re still blinded by their own insolence. Lol

  • Sorry, i think that these games are very good for psvita, but naive for ps4.
I describe march: “psvita games for ps4” :s

  • What was the cause for the delay, out of interest?
Is it likely to happen again?
Not trying to be a tosser about it, just wondering.

  • There’s been a constant push for side scroll style games. I mean i don’t expect the greatest games ever created for free but i’ve played video games for 3 decades and i feel like i have a slightly upgraded super nintendo. Thanks for some of the opportunity to try something i won’t buy though. Mixes it up for a day or two a month i suppose. Just feels like games made it all this way and someone is obsessed with re living my childhood. Which means 9 out of 10 games are just terrible. Ps3 seems to still throw out a good mixture. Just ps4 is odd that way.

  • Shadowew what the hell are you talking about. No “boats” getting missed but you and your vague nerd speech stating absolutely nothing. So what got missed smart ars? Lol

  • bad lineup… really waste of money to have ps+… look at ur compatition, they have REAL games, not these smartphone games :)

  • Oh great, waited all this time for this pathetic line-up? Are you even for real Sony? WTF?

  • Amazing month! I cannot reccomend Valiant Hearts enough, it’s an amazing, heartful, emotional and fun game. I just finished it last night (and now it’s for free… sigh) and teared up.

  • @ #518, what are you talking about, I tried OlliOlli 2 on PSTV, it does work.

  • Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments (PS3) this is just borderline stupid this ps pluss for ps4 is relly relly bad

  • Valiant Hearts: The Great War .. on PS Plus!!
Thank you Sony for always providing not the game titles we want, but the titles we need and deserve.
Your last title Transistor literally changed my life.
    Thank you.

  • Not only is the competition matching, or in the case of this month (and others), beating the games you’re offering, but the competitor let’s you keep them. If PSN would allow users to permanently keep all digital content previously claimed, then THAT would be a real value. As it is, I’m finding it harder and harder to justify keeping this membership.

  • Wish there was more for the Vita. Cool games coming out though.

  • “Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee — New ‘n’ Tasty! (PS4)”
Nooooo I just bought it… Excellent Game though. Was worth the money!

  • + funkball

Only on 360, and because their licensing system doesn’t have a way to give temporary ownership like the PS3, PS4 and Xbox One has.

  • Thank you Sony! By far the best news in march!

  • Sweet! Downloading them right now.

  • Okay. I transferred over from Xbox 360 to PS4, and a first day adopter of the Playstation 4. From day one, PS4 had nothing but Indie titles, which doesn’t include: Infamous: First Light nor Injustice. March 2015 lineup ticks me off consisting of 4 Indie titles for PS4, while Xbox One receives Rayman Legends for the entire month. This is probably an awesome lineup for someone whom enjoys Indie titles month after month, but there’s no consistent mix up between retail game or Indie develop games. I’m all for Indie developers, but over saturating the marketplace and force feeding us these games is no way to do so.
