This is a pretty awesome month for PlayStation Plus members with a variety of quality titles across PlayStation platforms entering the service.
On PlayStation 4 you’ll receive one of the coolest games from last year – the critically acclaimed strategy/action RPG Transistor. PS4 owners will also get Apotheon, an action platformer set in Greek mythology, the day it releases on PlayStation Store. PlayStation 3 owners can explore the ins and outs of Tokyo with Yakuza 4 or sneak about The City stealing what you can in Thief. PlayStation Vita owners can see how many generations of champions it takes to beat the quirky Rogue Legacy and jump around as a little boy with a big gun (not so much for shooting enemies as it is launching you around) in Kick & Fennick, which is also releasing day and date in PlayStation Plus.
All of these games will be free for Plus members starting February 3rd. If you want to see these titles in action, check out the video below. Someone made a comment that XBox Live gives nothing with Gold, but after Sony saw a massive rise thanks to the Instant Game Collection, Xbox added games with Gold. Of which I have downloaded two titles as they often give games that require a connect that I do not have and those games are really bad. Not saying I care for every game given by Sony.
Super excited to play Transistor and Yakuza 4 I sold awhile ago, but would love to play again. Kept thinking about trying Rouge Legacy and glad I get to try it free. Also glad to try Thief. Have yet to have a month where at least one game per console did not interest me.
Try adding some decent games for the ps4 like you did with infamous first light, instead of these crappy games, maybe add tomb raider definitive for free, or even NFS rivals idk

Is it possible to get Transistor if I don’t have a PS4? I got really excited when I saw it as the logo, but I only have the PS3 and Vita.
The flowing aps show up under games in the ps4 library: please fix: crunchy roll, crackle, ign, nba game time, Hulu plus, headset companion. That’s a lot, Xbox one doesn’t have this problem, so please fix this. Also a separate category for demos might be nice.

I see. You’re one of those who plays that game I mentioned earlier. You’re trying to exploit the most minor of flaws and exaggerate them… for whatever reason.
Even if you only own a Vita, it’s still a good deal. Many times, the titles offered for PS4 and PS3 are cross-buy with the Vita versions, giving Vita owners 3 or 4 games. (This month, the balance tilted towards PS3 and PS4 owners, providing 3 games each.) Even if they’re all indies, 3 or 4 games for $4.17 is still a bargain. There aren’t many Vita games to begin with, so Vita owners know what to expect. Also, there aren’t many Vita-only or PS4-only owners. Most PS4 and Vita owners also own PS3s. PS4-only owners need Plus to play online anyway, so the freebies add value.
Consider that there are 12 instances each year where we get these impressive 6-in-1 packs for a meager $4.17, and possibly less, depending on when you subbed. You even mentioned the Black Friday promo, which made the already significant value even greater.
I’ve been gaming for 31 years, and I assure you that PlayStation Plus is the single-greatest subscription/package-type deal in gaming history. People who complain about Plus will complain about ANYTHING. Those people suck.

Sony needs to be honest with people who just own the ps4 and say plus is just for online play.
But that is not the way they are presenting it to them.
At e3 before ps4 came out they promised them games like drive club.
which they still havn’t gave then but they took peoples money though.
Them when there subscriptions were running out they announced games months in advance like they never do to get people to renew.then they give them indies again.
Sony just needs to tell there customers the truth.

i own a ps3 and i agree that plus is a great value.but as sony has presented it to ps4 owners it has not been what they said it was going to be.And don’t get me started on how they treat vita owners.
I’m not currently a ps4 owner or a vita owner because the way sony has handled those two platforms so far other then writing my displeasure in these forums that is the only way i can protest sonys handling of those consoles.

For everyone who say, ” If I wanted to play Indies, I’d have bought a PC, not a $400 console,” do you all not realize that low end gaming rigs cost twice as much as our “next gen” consoles? It’s not that Indies aren’t quality games or that people don’t work just as hard on them as bigger dev teams. It’s that Indies are just another option for consumers and devs. I actually like that Indies are available on plus because it allows those teams to gain brand recognition for when they delve into bigger projects. Remember that lots Indies are made from top industry names who broke away from greedy publishers and are now trying to rebuild their portfolios. Indies are just as a part of gaming culture as these AAA titles.

You can just create brazil accounts on ps4/ps3/vita and get ps plus 4 free for two weeks. Just keep on doing it so you can have an ultimate gaming experience.

Most people already have a pc, laptop, tablet, or, phone that can play most of these indies that ps4 has been getting with plus.
Its not like you need to go out and by a new computer and graghics card to play most of these indie games.
But I am not against indie games brother a tale of two sons was a game I really enjoyed last year and would have never played it if it wasn’t for ps plus.
But I don’t think they shouldn’t get 2 indies every month.

@463 – Transistor is only for PS4. If you don’t have one, but plan to buy one in the future, you can visit the Playstation store online on a PC. Log in with your PSN account. Then you can “buy” the free games for PS4 to save for future use.
That’s what I’ve been doing for years. I’ll have a huge backlog of free games to play when I finally get a PS4.
I did the same thing for PS Vita. Once I finally bought a Vita, I had a ton of free games to play. I’ve been playing nothing but free games on my Vita for over a year now.

@yentair – maybe if you had more than 2 cents to purchase a ps4, you’d understand the frustration of most plus subscribers who DO own one. sure, IGC has been great for the ps3, and i still have my ps3 hooked up, but, honestly, i’d rather play games i’ve actually purchased for my ps4, than the free games i get for the ps3 with my plus membership. so you can keep your 2 cents. i want more for my 50 bucks a year. i haven’t gotten one game for my ps4 that i’ve invested any significant amount of time in. and since i paid almost the full value of a triple A title, i expected at least one game that was worth my investment. i’m not much of an online gamer, so i didn’t purchase my plus membership just to play online. so, i’ll complain to the equivalent of what i spent, and you can add your 2 cents to tell me i shouldn’t. thanks for that. you said you don’t work for sony, but it sure seems you want to, with the way you keep kissing their a$$.

As someone who has never gotten a console this early in the generation, I’m usually pretty late with what’s going on in the console world. I decided to get a yearlong PS Plus subscription, and it was well worth the 50 bucks. I’m pretty wary of online subscription services, especially here in the Philippines where broadband speeds are pretty spotty but PS Plus has given me a chance to play games I’ve never thought I’d play. Right now, I’m loving First Light and The Swapper, and I can’t wait to get my hands on Transistor.

I love how they slightly get your hopes up with the game title at the top. I saw The Last of Us, got pumped, then started to read on. Well maybe they will get us some good titles next month, feeling like a broken record here tho.
