The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

I have not had my PS4 for 4 days–I have attempted all of the “fix the problem” advice that has been given. Sat on hold with the 1-800 # for 35 minutes 2 times, only to be disconnected. This is getting very frustrating…….
Is this fixed as I still can’t get on line with assassins creed
Was online for 10 minutes. Now I can’t log on. Fix this problem sooner than later or I’m switching to Xbox.

My ps4 hasnt worked in almost 5 days i have paid for movies tv shows even games and on top of that i pay you guys for Ps plus i cant play any game online cant watch any of the movies i paid for or rented any tv shows ive paid for and rented and games i understand your tryin to get it all up and running but this never should of happend i have put so much money into this gaming console even pre ordered a ton of games n i dont think ill even get to play them by the time is out i better not lose any of these days on my ps plus that i pay for i have always chose sony over microsoft but you guys arnt making it easy maybe if you hired hackers to work on your servers you wouldnt have gotten hacked a 2nd time i expect my ps plus days to come back since i wasnt even on

I tried this and it really does work. I had seen it before but didn’t have any luck, but I realize now that I didn’t restart my PS4 after following all of the steps. I’ve been back online with GTA V for the last hour or so with no connection issues whatsoever.

@Disco_123 Disco after rebooting it seemed to get online, however the What’s New section spins and nothing populates there is that normal as part of the fix? Also, this seems to me like a temporary fix…Sony needs to get it together on this or they’ll be lots of us jumping ship. We were lucky enough to get an XB1 for xmas as well and that has been working fine. From a long time Sony fan, I am highly considering my preferences after all this. Thank you Disco and all the other helpful members here on the Blog, you have been more helpful than Sony itself to help us through this.

I am a 45 year old network technician that just started gaming or at least has been trying to I gave my brand new ps4 a 20 Meg connection that means I have 20 megs synchronization downstream and to Meg upstream my throughput speeds on the back end are exceeding 11 Meg symmetrically and I can still not access the server

my brand new Playstation 4 no longer has the option to set this device as primary
It seems like the only users who are having issues are the ones who haven’t been previously logged into the network. I have friends who have absolutely no issues signing in, but I had just received my PS4, and I keep running into server messages and connection errors.
therefore if you cannot log into PlayStation server you cannot set device Council as primary the option no longer exist when I initially powered up brand new gaming system there were multiple options after sign into PSN and now all of that has vanished

This is a joke NOT, if you would be honest with people and tell them what is going on instead of saying everything is ok (PSN Online) when its not and turning all means of communication with yourselves off or over to answer phone so we the customer can’t contact you, you are just like every other large company your can’t tell the simple truth anymore. You are all the same all you care about is profits and not the customer you take our money knowing that we not going to change to xbox because it means we have to re purchase all the games again and the graphics are better on PS4. i can’t even play the games i got as they are on digital which you pay more for than a disk at least with disk you could play the game.
You need to sack your IT team as they can’t do there job xbox had it up and running in a day and 5 days later here we are still waiting i am a patient man but 5 days come on…… sort it out please.

Almost 4-5 days without PSN still, even though it says that the PSN is up now. What’s the problem? How is it that friends in my area are able to get on and I’m not? If it is fixed then I should be able to get on without having to change any settings.
The thing that frustrates me the most is not that you were attacked an unable to handle the attack. I get that, it happens. What I don’t get is why I had to learn about everything that happened from other sources. Why did it take you 3 days to announce what was happening to you. Had Sony made a statement like, “Yes we know we are getting our a**** handed to us on the most influential day of the year, however, we are doing everything in our power to stop this from happening again.” Instead we got, “We don’t know whats happening but our engineers are working on it.” Please don’t make me search the internet, or even turn to hackers to have to learn what is going on.
Now pushing 6 days without Network access. Any clue when you will have service restored in Tennessee?

hi just moved back over to playstation after years with xbox only to find its all down xbox back up and running as normal. playstation still down but licence is ticking away what is happening should I have stayed with xbox live and xbox one as an upgrade, was very excited on xmas morning but down in the dumps ever since very annoyed returning customer.
This is getting really tired when is this going to be up and running

still not working.. rebooted my system twice, initialized it 3 times….what am i doing wrong? California here..
