As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.

The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

Still can’t login on psn been 3-4 days naw. Worked yesterday for about 30 mins then straight back off! No trouble with my PS3 just ps4!

To state that the Network is back up and running is a false statement. I was finally able to get on last night after multiple attempts and trying various ways to achieve online gaming. Once I was able to get online I lost connection to the server several times and had to log in again at one point even. I am very disappointed in the way this is all being handled to begin with. At no point was I ever contacted by Sony stating there was an issue with the Network or when it may be resolved. I am not going to renew my Plus until I hear back from Sony or the connectivity issues are resolved. I am an avid online gamer and since about 2012 have been having issues. I play MW3 online frequently and literally ever other lobby has a hacker in it. I have reported these players multiple times and yet I continue to see the same players in lobbies. What is the point of reporting a cheater if Sony never does anything about it? It just needs to be fixed so we can ALL enjoy online gaming again. I have stopped playing MW3 because the number of hackers in the lobbies is ridiculous. I will not pay for a Network that is nonfunctional. I could go on but what good will it really do?
I have been trying to connect my PS4 all morning and it has signed me out and i cannot even sign back into the account because it cannot connect to the server, I’ve been wanting to play my games but unfortunately cannot due to this problem, I am however able to connect with my Xbox One and can play my online games and they also were attacked over the holiday weekend

This is ridiculous PS family it’s the 29th and I still can’t login to psn!! Why??? I’ve done everything reset my router, turn the ps4 on and off again and still nothing!!! Can you please get this situation fixed ASAP!

changing system settings should not be required to use the ps4 system I have owned the ps4 since April and there have been countless issues on the network (not to this extent) but nun the less still many issues or a service that WE NOW PAY FOR!!!!!!! compensation must be given for this whole thing!!!
I’m still getting a error code every time I’m logging into ps4, but everyone else seems to be logging in fine, iv sent two emails and still no reply
PSN is not back on line still cannot connect with my current profile, however I can sign up again and lose all my downloads and purchases.
Tried contacting the help line, all that says is the network is down for maintenance and then cuts me off.
So wish I had not bought a PS4, poor products and totally appealing customer service totally discussed.

5 days it has been since I could last login my PS4. Don’t get me wrong I completely understand the situation and i am not one to complain, but when my brother who lives under the same roof as I and is 7 feet across my room and can log on no prob is when I feel that its ridiculous how long its taking for me cause he was back online 3 days ago..
After i change mtu i It automatically test connection still dnt sign in so wat do i resrart it before i test connection ?
Mine has been down since the attack until I dropped in on one of my tech sites. Forum discussion was about outages and temp fixes until this issue is cleared up. I’ve followed what others have stated to work and have been playing online hitch free for the last few days. If you still unable to log in go to your network setting, set up you Internet connection manually. Only setting you alter is the MTU. Currently it is set at 1500 I changed mine to 1472 for example. When I finished with the Internet setup rebooted my PS4 and now all connections successful and PSN Active.
mtu 1473 don’t work. but the mtu at 1452 works flawlessly
Disgrace at the minute nearly been a nearly week with no PSN and all my friends have had theirs sorted for around two days and im still waiting.

Im from newfoundland (500k population probably not even 1/10th of us have a ps4) given our small population of gamers we are likely last on sony’s priorities list.
