UPDATE: PlayStation Network is back online. As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.

The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

You know rerouting your website to the blog page is rather annoying you think n yes its going to work and then boom nope . I think you can do better than this honestly work on the connection problem so people can play then see us the update so this wont happen again instead of making us wait till you get it all done its about to be day 5 and I still can use my voucher like wtf you I people have one job one keep your gamers happy as much as possible maybe you should ask xbox engineers to help you guys seeming that they got it fixed.. most likely no one even reads this on there thwy just have a automated message made and sent out cause we’re not work your time .. guess what we make you your nothing without us!!!
I chose the PS4 over XBOX one…not sure it was the right choice. XBOX live was up and running before Lizard squad quit hacking them. It may have been disrupted but it was up. PSN is still down after 2 days of no hacking. They claim that PS4 is up and running but I have friends all over the US with PS4’s and not a single one of them can get on PSN so I call BS! I can accept that while you are being hacked you can’t provide service, but 2 days after and you still can’t get service….unacceptable. The best part is that Sony may finally get better techs and software to protect their network but we as consumers are going to pay for it when they jack up the price. Thanks Lizard Squad for claiming it was for the greater good and in the end only screwing the average joe. I hope Sony takes legal action to the extreme and you little bastards get yours!

I can’t sign-in to PSN at all. I have tried everything. MTU “fix”, and other stuff. I have also tried to reset console’s settings, and now I have to retype e-mail and password every time I want to see if PSN is back online for me or my region. Now I have to be really careful not to type the wrong e-mail/password combo for each of my accounts, every time I want to check if it’s back online.
I don’t know about most people, but I’m really tired of these events. I’ve been there for the one of 2011. Their status page is green, but I very much doubt it should be green as of yet.

I personally am still having Network errors or basically any NW error codes, coupled with CE error codes when I do my network test. I still can connect and access internet features like Netflix. As well as play the very few disks i own. But I own a lot of digitally downloaded games. All these games now have a tiny lock on them that makes them completely inaccessible. And they have been that way since Christmas Eve! I demand this get fixed, this is no way to treat, in my case and I’m sure many others, who consider ourselves brand loyal customers for many years. Fix your mess up Sony get you act together and start acting like a real billion dollar business.

is anyone else getting problems with their dns servers on how the primary and secondary are not correct. Please reply if you know how to fix this problem
Damn it Sony had to change the MTU # to finally get PSN to work even though you guys said PSN was up and running.
Hey I was just wondering all of my friends are able to connect psn now but I’m still having problems getting on the network. Didn’t know if this is normal at this point of time that some ppl are still not able to connect, or if I need to be concerned. Thanks again

i didn’t have to change MTU and it was up and running for me.
I never post on these things, but in this instance, I am going to, regardless if it actually gets read or not. I would like to thank the team at Sony for working over the holiday and restoring service for us gamers. I would also like to mention, to please ignore the naysayers, as they represent a very very small percentage of your playerbase.

Also, for testing purposes only, “creating a new XMB user and trying to register to PSN” won’t work either, as the server times out on me.
First off i want to say thank you to the sony workers who got called in to work over the holiday to fix this issue.
tho i am wondering as to a fix date cause i can still cant get on Psn on my PS4 but i can on my xperia. next to all the people here who have done nothing but complain. please take the negative energy else where, yes it sucks sony is taking a ling time to fix the problem, yes services were interrupted and you lost time, but when you buy a subscription on the month by month you have to understand YOU WILL NOT BE GETTING reimbursed for the time lost because you paid for a whole month or more of service. so in ending please stop blaming sony for the issues they are having because it wasnt there fault some stupid ****s thought it would be funny to take down there servers.

I still can’t sign in wtf! It’s been over 5 days now this is ridiculous! Now you’re claiming it’s back online which clearly isn’t true. My internet connection is fine so why can’t I sign online but others can?!

Please help me I’m having trouble logging in. I already reset my router for my wifi. I turned the PlayStation off serval times, I keep following the steps on the settings. I don’t know what else to do, and I’m a premium member. What’s the point of being premium member and paying extra $50 if I can’t even log in? I’m sick of this ****, please ****ing help me!
