Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Out Today on PS4, PS3

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- has arrived and we at Aksys Games couldn’t be more hyped! Exclusively on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 systems, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is one of Arc System Works’ greatest and most visually stunning fighting games, and we are proud to be publishing it in North America for fans everywhere! So what’s all this hype about you say?

The Guilty Gear series has a long history, currently celebrating its 16th year in existence. During that time, it has built a reputation as one of the most fun, extreme, yet challenging fighting games to grace the video game world. Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- reinvigorates the series, bringing back some classic mechanics and combining it with stunning visuals to make a truly unique experience for all.

For beginners, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is a great way to dive into the series. Featuring an extensive tutorial mode as well as a myriad of challenging modes, it allows players to learn, in-depth, how to do even the most complex of moves. Players are rewarded with an array of crazy, high-flying, and sometimes positively wacky moves when a special attack input succeeds. Don’t believe me? Check out Faust’s instant kill!

The hallmark of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is its visuals. Built on Unreal Engine 3, Arc System Works implemented their classic 2D style into the world of 3D, allowing the camera to move freely during special attacks, dusts, and more. To get a truly good grasp of just how stunning these visuals are, check out the long list of modes available for the game, including story mode – it uses Guilty Gear’s in-game engine to advance its compelling storyline.

Finally, for fans of this long running series, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-‘s fighting mechanics are back and have been enhanced to make gameplay even more fun and exciting. One of the classic mechanics, the Roman Cancel System, lets players effectively slow down time, allowing for multiple move inputs. Once unleashed, the player can do some pretty heavy damage.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is now available at retailers nationwide and on PSN. The Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Limited Edition will be available December 23, 2014. In addition, the DLC character Elphelt Valentine is currently available for free on PSN until 1/5. Other DLC include the (also unlockable) Sin and Leo Whitefang as well as voice and color packs. Expect more patch updates that will further enhance and improve on your Guilty Gear experience in the coming days!

  • Omg the game is awsome. Ive been a fan since ps1. I reeeaaalllyyy hope they take advantage of the era we are in and make cool dlc available. Mainly characters. Alot of my friends are really disappointed that so many were taken out. I mean cmon its the first fast paced 2d fighter for the new gen. Go all out and dont hold back. And the old school tracks too would be awesome.

  • Ummm Elphelt is free and all but when I “purchased / downloaded her” she doesn’t show up in the game, now does it show up on my downloads page. I have the ps4 version..is this a bug or is it a psn problem?

  • I want the demo!
wanna try the game first before buy it

  • So is it Cross Play or what? Would love to challenge some friends on PS4, heh.

  • Yea. Its def cross play. I have a ps4 and i have fought plenty of people who are on a ps3.

  • Its not fair. Blazblue chrono phantasma has damn near 30 characters. And with every new blazblue they just added characters. They didnt take anyout. Why they had to take out so many from gg-xrd?

  • I reckon that there were characters removed from this compared to the previous games because it’s not just an iteration of the older games, it’s been completely rebuilt using a very different engine.

Jonesing to get my hands on this but have to be patient as I’m waiting for it to arrive from Canada… and I live in Ireland. There’s no EU release for this yet and I’m not making the mistake I made with Blazblue: Calamity Trigger by waiting for it – by the time it was released over here, it was almost time for Continuum Shift to be released elsewhere.

At least it’s completely simple to buy and import game these days.

  • Love it! Ramlethal is the best Guilty Gear character design and gameplay since Slayer. Keep up the great character designs.

  • Godly stuff!

  • I would also like an update to allow PS3 arcade controllers to be compatible with Guilty Gear. I bought the game recently and I love it, but I’d rather play on an arcade stick sinceI can’t afford to shell out 150-200 dollars for a PS4 arcade stick. Help a brother out!!

  • Quick question. I downloaded Elphelt on the PSN but I’m not able to play as her with the latest patch, in Xrd. I had deleted the data on my system and re installed the game with the latest update but I still can’t play her. Is there a patch to fix this or a way to install Elphelt so I can play as her.

  • Hello got a question as well, it purchased both sin and Leo from the store and according to my game they are both installed but it still shows them locked on the character select screen any info would be much appreciated.
