Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd Hits PS3, Vita Today!

The time has come! The release of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd on PS3 and PS Vita is here!

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd

Over the past year, we here at SEGA have traveled across the US to bring Project DIVA to you all. I have witnessed the unifying power of Miku firsthand, and seen how her music and her games bring people together with her message of universal positivity. I’ve met some of the most wonderful people through this project, and for that I thank you all.

For you long-time fans, this is the best Project DIVA release yet. For those of you who first played Project DIVA last year with our first international release, you are in for a real treat discovering the songs that made Miku what she is today. And with the sequel launching today, you’ll finally get to experience English subtitles on the songs for the very first time. For those of you who have yet to experience Miku and Project DIVA, now is the time to jump on board. With 40 songs that mix both new and classic hits, you are in for an unforgettable experience as you discover the incredible world of Miku.

If you are a returning fan, the controls and game mechanics have seen enhancements and improvements over the previous game. There are now Double Stars and Linked Stars, and you now have the option to use the analog sticks instead of the touchscreen on the PS Vita version.

We are also including Cross-Save for the mega fans out there who want to own the game on both PS3 and PS Vita. This will allow you to sync your save data between versions, allowing you to shoot for perfect scores both at home and on the go.

Edit Mode has seen very important improvements as well. First, we have included sample Edits to help you learn the ins and outs of Edit creation. Second, you are able to import any Edits created in the first Project DIVA F. There have been updates to the creation interface, such as allowing you to preview the song while adjusting target positions, as well as letting you hear the button sounds when previewing so you can line up the sound track better. I’m really looking forward to seeing the Edits you create! Edit Mode is your chance to give back to the community!

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd

We have one last feature we have not yet revealed…

Japanese Save Data Importing

This is a special feature for fans who not only imported the Japanese version, but are also buying the English version to support our efforts. Using this feature, the English version of Project DIVA F 2nd will read the Cross-Save data from the Japanese version, and merge that progress with your English process. It even works across platforms, so if you have a Japanese PS3 version, you can import into your English PS Vita version! Note though that this is a one-time, one-direction feature.

The option is on the title screen, so you can’t miss it. Give it a try and let us know what you think!

As I mentioned in my last blog post, we have six months of post-launch downloadable content in the pipeline, starting with the first content coming on December 9th. Don’t miss out on our club membership promotion either! Join the Song Club and Costume Club to get 25% savings on all the post-launch content.

Again, to everyone who has supported us, thank you! Keep tapping those buttons, and we’ll see you next time!

  • Thanks for bringing this over physically. Playing it right now. Finished the survey as well.

Still have yet to 100 percent the first one…will get to that first so I can import the modules.

  • This is how we get more Vita support: buy the games we have instead of complaining the game wasn’t tailored just for us Americans, and then the publisher will bring out another game, with additional features for Westerners. That is economics in a nutshell.

This is a niche game, even by niche platform standards, yet this is an example of how to get more Vita games.

    Thank you, SEGA.

  • Do you guys have extra markers for 2nd F? I was able to print AR marker and Extra for the first F off your website.

    Don’t find anything for 2nd f?

    • Many of the AR markers from the first game work with the second one. Give them a shot. The boxes from previous games can be scanned in as well!

  • *sees mention of Puyo earlier in the comments* *is reminded Puyo Puyo Tetris exists* ….All of the want? Please?

But back on topic, the JP import is definitely an amazing feature, even if I’ll be using a more traditional import myself (picked up both versions of the first game when they were on flash sale), and its great to see Miku making a name for herself in general over on this side of the world.

  • @ 22 I posted it here because it’s was the latest blog post.
also “wait for an update post on that game” they Never update anything unless it’s to hype you up on buying the games, we have to go on Twitter instead to get information that SHOULD be posted here on the Blog, and unless you’re saying nice things about the systems or games your post on this Blog goes ignored by the Editors.

  • Yes!!!! THANK YOU SEGA!!! I just picked up both the PS3 and Vita versions of the game today! So excited!! :)

  • I know “givevitagamesnow” but yeah, usually stuff like that happens, can’t do much about it except wait for it…or not, but still, it was kinda rude to make your remark on something unrelated to this article anyways.

And yes, I’m being honest. (We know we have our opinions on certain games, but you really didn’t need to bash it in front of PD-F fans to see.)

  • Hatsune Miku! <3

  • Anyways “givevitagamesnow”, if you want to know, the newest DLC for F.W. should be up on the PS Store now, happy now?

Let us Project Diva fans have our moment here, and you have yours on the Vita!

  • Don’t know if you’re still here, but I picked up the PS3 and Vita games last night at my local GameStop. Apparently they were having a midnight lanch for some… Dragon Days?… Grand Larceny Automotive? I dunno, but I got what I was after. Annnyway, my Vita copy didn’t come with the AR Card, though I noticed several people online that had one included. People are assuming it’s because “Canada”, but I’m down here in Texas, so not sure about that.

  • I know you probably know nothing about this but do you have any info on phantasy star making it to the states any time soon? I’ll even buy this game if it’ll make you guys bring it here.

  • Cross region save data importing is amazing. That must have been a compliance nightmare, but thank you so much for making that happen!

  • It says on the store that if I’ve purchased the extra characters for the first game, I can get them for DIVA F 2nd as well for free, however the store keeps asking me to pay $2.99… Is there something special I have to do? I don’t want to end up paying for them again when I don’t have to.

  • so will i still be able to purchase dlc modules if i don’t join the costume club?

  • The extra character module pack says it is free for owners of the one on the first game. I have the one for the first game but the one for the new game is not showing up as free for me. Is there something I’m missing?

  • Just looked on the Playstation Store, extra characters are showing up for $2.99, not free. :(

  • The JP version have demo for this game. Does this version have the demo too?

  • He will use the same list of Japanese or have another list of trophies?

  • I enjoyed every minute of Hatsune Miku Project Diva F for PS3 & i’m planning on getting the Vita version of Project Diva F 2nd sense i will be getting a Vita next week. :)
Thank you SEGA for bring this over.

  • First second buy, every time. I’ve been playing since Project Diva 1, with no stop in sight. I quite literally refreshed the page to pick this up ASAP. My only complaint is that I’ve been waiting in anticipation for months. 10/10, I leeked all over my Vita.

    When’s PD f Extend?

  • Unfortunately I can’t get it right now… Sometime in a few weeks I probably can though. I can still play the first one until then though!

  • I want soooo bad but broke as a joke

  • Wait, so can I import my Japanese save data from the Vita version onto the English PS3 version?

  • Playing vita version from gamestop and waiting ps3 version from amazon.
Thanks SEGA for bring Miku to the West.

  • I forgot to comment that the vita version has a little manual and one AR Live Marker (CARD).
Nice touch since no games for the vita has manuals.
Hoping that the PS3 have one too!!!!

  • @Asriel_28 There was an AR card included? Wonder what happened then since I didn’t get one… I bought the physical copy as well and I didn’t get anything in the box other than the game and the mini-manual…

  • @lightning2x I preorder the game from gamestop. Not sure if that’s why i got the AR card.

  • Can Sega please clarify how the AR Live Marker is being distributed? It seems there was no announcement at all, and people are reporting finding the AR card randomly in copies from different stores and different countries.

  • @Asriel_28 Yeah, I got it from amazon, but it seems from what I’ve seen on forums and such that regardless of where you purchased it, some people just didn’t get it… looks like I’m one of the unlucky ones.

Someone on SEGA’s forums even said they pre-ordered from Gamestop and they didn’t receive one either.

    Thanks for the reply

  • Sorry lost my sales for both versions, the Single trophy list is the reason.

Sure its good to have a cross save from the Japan version to the English release but you could have still put a new trophy list in. You could have made it so people still had to play the songs to unlock the trophies and view all the diva room items again.

I have no reason to buy this game again when I already own both PS3 and Vita limited editions from Japan. Terrible idea but each to their own just hope this is not going to take place again in the future.

  • Are there any content that’s exclusive to the West release? I am ok staying with my import if it doesn’t have any extra content that’s worth getting for me (namely dlc songs, say Sharing the World…. :) )

Any word on piapro support from this version?

  • Thanks for bringing the game over to the West Sega! I just have a small question in regards to the cross-save feature. I have the PS3 JP version and am awaiting my copy of the Vita localized version, if I transfer my save data over to the Vita version can I transfer the save again over to my JP PS3 version so they stay synced up? I’m a bit confused by the “one time only, one direction”, is there a limitation somewhere that stops us cross saving back to the JP version?

  • The upgrades you did this from PjDF1 were awesome, expecially how you had Physiclyed release for Vita and included a manual. Now my whole PjD collection is complete and looks nice since they all have manuals. I really appreciete it :)

  • I have been waiting for this game this entire year!!! I am so glad i finally got it, i played it all day and it’s amazing, the vita controls are great now. :)

  • thanks :D i loved music games , I been waiting this game :) I’ll buy it now

  • Definitely getting Diva 2nd later on….I’m just glad that you guys will be releasing a retail version for this one…it was a pain to be forced to buy the 1st one digitally….like for real, yup I mean the Vita version…this game was meant to be played on Vita.

  • Thank you so much for this amazing game! I bought the Japanese version before hand because I’m absolutely in love with this series of games, as well as vocaloid music in general. I appreciate all of your hard work and I hope to see more western releases of future Diva games. One question though. How exactly does the song club work? Do you get all of the songs now or do you get them as they come out later?

  • Got the game for the Vita. I’ve been hearing a lot of people online saying that their game came with an AR card, but mine didn’t come with one. SEGA customer support said was that they didn’t get enough cards and decided to randomly place them in some copies of the game without any announcement, just saying that they were sorry and basically that they aren’t going to do anything about it. Kind of sucks when even SEGA says that I’m not going to get this card just because I wasn’t lucky enough. Love the game but upset about not getting a card. I’ve been a fan of this series for a while now and was disappointed that I couldn’t get the card that came with the Japanese version of PDf since it only came digitally here. I was excited when people said they were getting one with this game until I found that I didn’t get one. If SEGA didn’t get enough cards to meet the unexpectedly high demand in this game, why not request more? The high demand of the game shows this game’s growing support. Wouldn’t it have been nice if everyone who got this game the day of release got this card as a gift for their loyalty? Would SEGA be willing to show its loyalty to its customers and get more of these cards for people who haven’t gotten it?

  • Project Diva F 2nd! So unbelievably excited for this game. I remember playing the three songs on the PJD F1 demo so many times waiting for the first game’s release that I already had them mastered by launch. I’ll definitely be picking this up and recommending to all my friends. The Song Club is also a must, but I’m afraid even at a 25% discount the Costume Club is going to be more than I can justify.

  • Fantastic! Though I do wish Sega would bring more of their games to the West – the PSO and related franchises in particular.

  • so how does the discount for getting both clubs work? do you have to get it at gamestop or from the psn store or what?

  • It’s something cool and unique about this game.

  • Will this ever get to PS4?

  • Okay, even without the discount, pig-in-the-poke signed up for the Song Club immediately, just because I’m a hopeless Miku fan. :)
(Who also can’t get Luka’s “Hello Worker” out of my head over the last couple days.)

Any hints of the list? Yellow’s already been hinted at, but what about “Po Pi Po”, “Nekomimi Switch” or “Tricolor Airline”?
And will her Sonic the Hedgehog outfit eventually show up in the Costume club?

  • Purchase dlc “song club” for hatsune miku project diva f 2nd, and everytime i try to download it. It gives me a load screen and back to the content someone help me please!!

  • Having issues with Cross save. Anyone else or am I doing something wrong? Saved on Vita and uploaded. Went to Japanese version on PS3 and loaded save and asked to run the cross save load too, and Vita data not the same?

  • There is an issue. Just went to online save data. Just saved from Vita and it is still from a day behind on data. Cross save doesn’t work properly. Just letting everyone know, be careful using it.

  • i’m hoping that popipo and look this way baby are in the song club :D

  • PS4 pls?

  • I’am a huge fan of Hatsune Miku, i have all PD games on my PSP, Vita and PS3 :D

But there’s something that always bothers me with PD: F series on PS3, that is about the graphic engine.
Why cant you use the same engine like the Dreamy Theater series?
My favorite is Dreamy Theater Extend, the graphic are beautiful.

Whenever i play PDF or PDF: 2nd on my PS3 i felt like playing the PSV version on big screen.
Two days ago i bought a PS Vita TV, plugin it in to my TV & play PDF:2nd for Vita.
OMG!! the graphic look almost identical, it almost make me regret buying the PS3 version.

I hope Sega can use better graphic engine for the next PD games for PS3 or PS4.

Sorry for my bad grammar, english is not my main languange.
