As many of you are already aware, the DRIVECLUB team has made the decision to postpone the release of the PlayStation Plus Edition due to multiplayer connectivity issues following the game’s launch yesterday in North America and today in much of Europe. Rather than wait for the free version I paid for the full version so I could play online with my friends midnight on the 7th. Still have not been able to connect to the servers. I’d really appreciate a refund.

The only people in here who are complaining is the ones who hasn’t even bought the game. The ones who are enjoying it are the faithful supportive gamers who pre order and are happily enjoying the single player campaign mode unlocking cars and etc to preparing themselves for a MP battle with eachother. In the meantime shows some damn respect and be patient on your fellow men and allow them to do their work you ungrateful mini trolls.
while waiting Sony can offer a new free game, or make something cool for the PSN+ community, instead of blaming the game developer. Such a shame to see that level of management at that level of business :(
I’m not all that put out by the delay (disappointed, but not upset). Stuff happens. I’m an IT Consultant. Occasionally, tech doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to and you just have to deal with it when it happens. However, the complete lack of communication for hours on end is inexcusable. It has to be someone’s responsibility to put items up on the PlayStation Store. As such, SOMEone had to know at the very moment that it wasn’t uploaded (or made available) that there was a problem and that it wouldn’t be available when it was supposed to be. At that exact moment, said person should have contacted PR and PR should have released a statement quickly. If I was working on a client’s server and it crashed for one reason or another, guess how long it would take them to relieve themselves of my services if I went silent for even half an hour, much less several hours.
Sony has built up a fair amount of good will among the gaming community over the last year. Things like this stand to damage that good will. And without the fans, PlayStation is in a bad place.
PS – The information regarding the decision to postpone the release should have, at the very least, been posted on the PS Blog. Having it buried on the Driveclub Facebook page (and there alone) was another misstep.

It’s more convenient to post in on FB because #1, 99% of the world contacted to social media in real time and during the launch they had no idea the services crash also consider the time of day and region where the developer is located. People do sleep and have lives -check, #2, next business day all the publisher and developers disscusses the source, problem, and solutions. #3, now it’s official on the forum and all of the ps community is aware of what’s going on. Use common sense in understanding how business works.
Don’t eff-it up Sony, remember your finances aren’t that good. Keep the client happy.
This is really disappointing. Considering this is the main selling point of the game it looks pretty poor. Coupled with the very vanilla single player experience I haven’t touched this as much as I wanted to. Lets just hope it gets fixed soon.

We went through this with Rockstar on MAX Payne 3, GTA V and EA’s BF4 so they had to purchase more servers for the high demand. This shouldn’t be a surprise to no one really.
Not really the correct decision in my opinion holding back the PS+ Edition. Allow all your customers to experience the same issues. I don’t mind playing offline until you get the servers up and running. But you really should respect all your paying customers equally not just the full game adopters. Remember PS+ Subscribers are paying customers also. Don’t forget that.
Playstation Plus Members are paying customers of the Playstation Plus Edition of Driveclub. There is no reason what so ever, server issues or not, that the PS+ Edition should be withheld if the full digital game is available for purchase and download. This is poor conduct on the developer and publisher towards their paying customers and some form of compensation should be given for lack of services rendered. Shame on both the developer and publisher for this shoddy business practice.
I would wait as much as needed but give as cmplete game with support for logitech wheels. I still can’t believe they went with out it and they have best wheels.

could I please get a refund or at least store credit for this game? I paid for a product and have not received access to my pre order bonuses. The game itself is not working as intended and the game has almost been out for 48 hours and is still not working as intended. I’m within my right to expect a refund.

firstly, it’s not really a demo….
secondly, they SHOULD have taken a page from bungie’s playbook; when you hype a game THIS much, and dangle it in front of them for this long, you should stress test the hell out of your server farm, to make sure it can handle the load…..but since it’s sony, they skimped on network infrastructure…
i love sony….they make very impressive hardware, that plays very pretty games, but they just can’t seem to learn from mistakes, and get it right, when it comes to network infrastructure…it’s sad.
now, because of this inability to ever get that one thing right, paying customers are not getting what they payed for, and potential customers (PS+ members) are getting more turned off by the day….it’s not a recipe for success.
I’m not one to complain, but I preordered the pay version of this game and still cannot use any of the online features. In fact, the game on my PS4 dashboard says I can buy the game for $49.99. I already bought the game and season pass! What is going on?! Does anyone know who I can contact about this?

if you’re actually a PS+ subscriber (notice the operative word “subscriber”, as in “subscription”), then, assuming you don’t have the I.Q. of chilled snot, you understand that NOTHING in the IGC is actually “free”…it’s a long term rental. you can play, as long as you keep PAYING for your SUBSCRIPTION…
i’ve had it with mouth breathers complaining about PS+ subscribers, and accusing us all of being whiny little brats with delusions of entitlement, and complaining that we get “free” stuff. we’re paying for services…we we don’t get them, we complain. cope.

If somehow The Crew and CARS manage to not stand up to the game and I resort to driveclub for my racing fix, I’ll be absolutely sure to get a used copy at my local gameXchange.
This was absurd 11 months ago.
Kind of seems, given the less than stellar reviews it is getting from various sites, that the delay of the PS+ release might be a way to try to squeeze out a few more sales before the members (which most PS4 owners are) get their hands on it and decide not to spend the full amount for the game. I will reserve judgement, but given the type of game this is (loads of online connectivity with the club feature) server issues are to be expected, but if it is really a big enough problem to delay the PS+ edition, one would figure they would taken the retail edition off the PS store as well, but it is still sitting there.
AlphaMission, I’m in the same boat. Having spent $49.99 on the full digital version and then $22 on the season pass. PSN now has the offer to pay $49.99 again for the full version. Not sure what that is about but I certainly hope they aren’t expecting we pay that amount again for the full version which mind you, isn’t even full in that it has been over two days and I still can’t access the online features. Really poorly done IMO. We pay for a particular product and haven’t gotten what we’ve paid for. I believe they should be held to the same standards as I am sure we are all held within our own individual areas of expertise.
Meanwhile in Hong Kong people already playing PS+ Edition of the Game. Good job!

So an 11 month long delay STILL wasn’t enough to keep issues like this from happening? Give us a break. There have been way to many delays this year. I know I could still buy the full version of driveclub, but the reason why I’m complaining is because I want to try out the psplus edition first to see if I like it before I buy it. The reason is because I have bought too many disappointing games. Watch dogs, and destiny just to name a few. And above all, you didn’t handle the situation well either. People were begging for some answer and you kept ignoring them. You should have addressed why the psplus edition wasn’t in the store when it should have been either earlier or in the playstation store update post by at the very least saying something like “yes, we know that the psplus edition is not in the store when it should be. Unfortunately, we are having issues with it and are working to fix them. We will keep you posted.” Something.
im rather shocked and disappointed in EVO for such sloppy work… they should have stuck with offroad racing games perhaps.. lol

I brought a ton of virtual tissue for ALL the CRYBABIES and CONSPIRACY THEORISTS, I cant believe all the people thinking Sony and Evo Studios are holding back the PS Plus Ed. so people will buy the full game… HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Delayed by almost a year for this, so far I’ve been pretty let down by the game. It’s a nice tech demo I guess, not really worth $60. I do however like the little challenges it keeps me engaged for the whole race, the cars and tracks look incredible and the game is smooth, it just needs a lot more work and polish to be a full $60 game though. The shaky cam when flying over the course before the race is annoying, the slight delay when crossing the finish line that makes me think my system locked up every time is really unnerving and the fact you lose points when another vehicle rear ends you, so I brake for a corner get rear ended because the other car is a terrible driver (computer or otherwise) and I lose points!? I suppose this could be to prevent someone from trying to make only you lose points by slamming on their brakes but I would argue that puts them at a disadvantage when I turn hard and accelerate around them while they are braking.
I was originally disappointed by the lack of Logitech wheel support but the game is so arcade I don’t think playing with any wheel would be fun at all.

I find it hard to buy when u postpone the free PS+ version, yet we’re all free to drop money on the digital version. You’d think they’d pull that back till the so called server issue was fixed.
So I bought the game and it is gorgeous and the sound is amazing. Thank you Evolution for delivering a solid game. I also bought the season pass because there is a lot of cool content stated to be coming out.
My problem is that I cannot use the one feature of the game that made me buy this over Forza Horizon 2 on my X1…the online club and challenge features. I have a group of people ready to go and I have not once been able to access the servers.
I know they will be up eventually, but maybe throwing in a free car or a discount on the next PS store purchase for those that bought the game and can’t play it as advertised would be nice.
Regardless, I am SO EXCITED for the dynamic weather patch and hope it comes really soon. I want to see that 1080P snow!!
It woulda been nice to get a noticefication the night of launch i was up allnight waiting for nothing, i was waiting all night to hit DL n go to bed but the game never launched and i was up all night good job Evolution Studios. In the least you coulda sent out notices or posted in the store the postponement of the game, now iknow iwill not pay for the full game.._ especially bcuz as i recall this game was promised as a free launch title, 1 year later and its only somewhat free and broken, things are not looking good for this dev team…

Then you complain that xbox live is better when all live has had to offer until recently has been internet access for the same price….Delete your psn, we don’t need any more idiots running around ruining our online community.

B/C when a driver leaves the racing line other racers will take your spot , then when you dart back into your racing line someones there, why? YOU LEFT THE RACING LINE!!! very easy to understand and drive accordingly…sure DriveClub has Aggressive drivers but what racer doesn’t have prick drivers
Decent game or not, I cannot hand over my money to any software company that would leave it’s customers hanging like this. Beta test! I’d rather go buy the other console and get my racing fix in, at least they have a good selection of titles.
I just remembered EVO is the studio that did the motorstorm series. Here’ s my experience and take on EVO studios.
When Motorstorm PR was their most recent title they admitted that a couple of the tracks had glitches that allowed people to gain unfair advantages. One was like a warp that allowed you to cut the track and if you didn’t glitch and use it you’d be lapped. On other tracks you could boost explode and spawn further down the track which allowed you to pass people by exploding and respawning ahead of people. EVO admitted that these were issues in the game and then stated there would be no further updates to the game to fix the glitches. In other words EVO told us players to live with it.
Here’s the recap: EVO admits their game is broken. And in the same press release they state they won’t fix it. They said they had not scheduled another update and had moved on to developing Motrostorm apocalypse. EVO is all about the money grab and couldn’t care less about it’s paying customers.
