Waiting for more than 12 hours after the expected release time for a title is not the best time to update folks on what is going on, especially when it is a “perk” to a paid subscription. That said thank you for the information, knowing that it will be ready in a few days once the servers improve isn’t life ending.
You posted on twitter that you knew of the issues with DriveClub for the full version, so why didn’t you post on this at 3pm that you are aware of said issues, and there will be a delay to the DriveClub PS+?
It’s like the person who is in charge of the game is in the UK, and the people who are in charge of the Servers are in California and they didn’t think to have somebody from Evolution on standby in case of issues.

@Pumpkin_Escobar2 I just sorted avatars by newest first and scrolled down until I found them.
So my question is this, if you can pay for the full game and play OFFLINE, then why can’t the PS Plus members download the PS Plus Edition of Driveclub and play off line too? Makes no sense to me. Unless you are going to tell me that the PS Plus Edition is an online only game…….something stinks.
Here are a few comments related to this update:
1. Drive Club is almost a year late. It was hyped to come out with the new PS4 and may have influences people to pre order the PS4 with the PS Plus in the first place. PS Plus members waited for Drive Club for a long time. That’s fine; it is the free version after all. However, to remain quiet about holding back the free version for even longer until after the release of the game seems, to me, to be unappreciative of the membership. Not tell us ahead of time and not telling us with the update just seems… intentional.
2. Your sales this week are weak, and last week’s weren’t great either. People want to spend money for the buy $100, get $15, but you add almost no sales. In a week where you were sure to upset people (missing free version of Drive Club), you would think you would go out of your way to soften the blow. Now maybe you have a Flash Sale planned, I don’t know, but last year’s save $10 for every $50 spent was a better deal and some good sales to go with this year’s version would be nice.
3. The value of the PS Plus membership is dropping. When I joined, there were the guaranteed yearly IGC. These were good AAA games. They attracted me to the program. The monthly IGC games that rotated in and out were a great addition, and some fantastic games were included in there. Now the draw of those yearly AAA games are gone. The games you are choosing to rotate in just aren’t making up for the loss of those yearly games (too many unpopular or old indies, Arkham Asylum???). I fear we are watching the erosion of a once fantastic program into a “pay to play multiplayer game” fee. I know it’s not there yet and there are some good indies trickling through, but I thinking we are watching early erosion in the process.
Drive Club has become a joke. How many more probs will there be? I was going to give it a chance, but no thanks. SOOO many other games to choose from in the upcoming holiday season. Why would I waste time on Drive Club now? So I can hear more lies? No thanks EA…I mean, Evolution.
@913, it is early erosion. I called it months back when I started to Beta Test PS Now. That is the program they are pushing now. Go back and look at the last 6-8 months of games released. Some of them were good AAA titles for the PS3, however, if you have noticed, the decline in what is being offered over the last 2-3 months has greatly increased. I am afraid to say PS Plus as we know it will cease to exist in the near future.
I did rate it nor cared for DriveClub; I didnt need it and was not going to get it either. But NOW I want it, today…where the hell is my DriveClub? lol My whole PS+ experience is based on whether or not I have DriveClub and I dont…I am emotionally traumatized and physically sick without my DriveClub (game – for you sick ba$turd$ lol) While you are at it, can you also give me a PS4, eh? :-)

Also, one other thing to note about this DriveClub PS Edition release. As you notice, no one has even remotely stated when it might be available for a download or when the servers will be fixed. Let’s be honest here, it could be hours, days or even weeks before this issue is resolved.

Well, I beta tested PS NOW. OMG what a Wretched service… streaming pixilations, bad sound, GOD AWFUL LAG! I was playing a free version of MX vs ATV Alive, and as much as I love rocking that game out every once and a while, PS NOW is not something you wanna rely on when your racing… you will go from 1st to last in a instant with their streaming lag. HORRIBLE SERVICE, why would I pay for 4 days what I could go to gamestop and buy for a lifetime.

PS plus service is eroding, look how good the games for PS4 were coming out of the gate. Now for 3 months straight just old games and garbage. And where the hell is my YouTube app? The DriveClub disaster is just the latest sign of the incompetence at PSN, a service we now have to pay for.
I own Spelunky on Vita/PS3 already. The PS4 version isn´t showing crossbuy for me. Has there been any mention of this issue, or has it been missed under the onslaught of Driveclub complaints?
Looks like Nintendo might come out on top of all this after all.
@919, I agree. PS Now is crap. I had similar issues on both the PS3 and PS4. I gave up and deleted it from my systems. In my case, I can buy used games much cheaper that actually work rather than pay for a overpriced rental service.
Oh, one other thing I would like to say. Aside from this post, I have noticed that the forum moderators here tend to only respond to people that are praising what Sony is coming out with or if they have something good to say. Be it a game or service, if a person claims they love it, the moderators are usually posing a response. However, if you have something negative to say, they typically do not respond and normally you will only see these responses on the 1st page or 2.
Now people are asking for the full game for free? What’s next? Asking for a PS4 for free? Seriously guys, come on.
Stop bashing the developers. They put their heart and soul into this game and what do you all do? You tear them apart. Please use your brains and realise that they’re working hard to fix their server issues and get you want you want as fast as they can.
And to the people who’re saying “PlayStation Plus is getting worse” Lets be real here. The only reason you’re saying that is because you didn’t get your PlayStation Plus version of Driveclub yet. Be patient and wait. It’s coming.
Finally, lets be honest here. The majority of you who are complaining about not getting your version of the game on-time are the ones who will probably touch the game once, play it for 30 minutes then never play it again.
Sony just needs to stick to making electronics, and stop trying to supply entertainment. Let somebody else make and break my video game promises, just make me a top notch console that actually functions efficiently.
Honestly excluding all these current issues, why is it that my game “App” (I love how all my games are apps now btw) I get at least like 5-6 app fails a week. Makes me Paranoid that my console is gonna break. My ps3 and PS1 never booted me out of my games this frequently…. not even xbox. The fail rate for the PS4 is crazy, and whats with your built in WIFI. its almost like the PS4 dosnt know what WIFI is most days.
FIX THE EQUIPMENT QUIT TRYING TO ENTERTAIN ME!

I just want to know why the Blog staff Turtled and no one wanted to just come out and say something easy like “we’re working on it and will update you when we have more information” would that have been so hard? I can guarantee you there would be FAR less comments on this page.

It is stupid that you did not at least give the game to people screw if the servers are down.. when is that a first for gaming history? Where the servers are messed up, or people cant connect to people. I mean hell man, I still get sold games with broken multiplayer. Batman Arkham Origins, surprisingly good Online Multiplayer, BUUUUUT waiting 15 min to get connected to a match kinda sucks,, but HEY they still gave me my f’n game!!!

This is a joke I’m sorry but it is. Driveclub PS Plus Edition was promised almost a year ago at the launch of PS4, then they delay it almost a year to put the finishing touches on the game and make sure it was released as it should be and what happened? Not only are the online servers running terribly but those of us (myself included) who were looking forward to the PS Plus Edition are being denied what we were promised for who knows how long until the servers are up and running properly. At the very least they could offer people who bought the full game some compensation like free cars and for PS Plus members who are dealing with broken promises once again maybe a lower entrance fee to a full upgrade. Just…SOMETHING I mean seriously.
Look at Naughty Dog for example, The Last of Us Remastered had server issues for their online multiplayer (which wasn’t even the core aspect of the game) for like a few days that wasn’t even THAT bad honestly and they gave a few free maps as compensation which no one even asked for they just care about their fans. I’m not gonna be like a lot of people on here and claim to hate PS Plus now because I don’t even if some of the PS4 offerings have been a bit…lacking I still love the service, in the last two years I have been subscribed the service has brought me many fun gaming experiences I may not have had otherwise and I have no intention of unsubscribing like a spoiled child. I also don’t hate the developers of Driveclub (though I am disappointed with them) but come on guys you’ve had more then enough time to make sure this thing would run at least decently not perfect but at the very least functional and you dropped the ball. I am willing to give you guys another chance but it will be hard to earn back peoples trust on a second title after this botched launch.

All the idiots talking about the free ps+ games being garbage clearly haven’t played Dust. It’s the furthest thing from garbage. You can’t expect AAA games that haven’t been out very long to just be given to you for free! Not yet!

@951 Played Dust on PS3 and loved it, but I’m not exactly looking to play it again during the busy holiday games season. Same for Spelunky. Would prefer some games that I haven’t played already on older gen hardware.
I understand that problems will unexpectedly arise, but what I’m upset about the most is that at the ps4 launch sony said that plus members would get DriveClub for free, then when the game was delayed they said that it was a limited version, but now that the game has released they’re saying the ps+ edition is delayed dued to server issues that should have been resolved during the year long delay and top of it all wait 12 hours to say so. I bet Microsoft and Nintendo are watching this and laughing their butts off.
And this is why we are paying $50 for plus? Dont say we pay for the free games sony, cuz we all know the free games are either old or garbage. Its no wonder ya’ll get hacked all the time with ease, this is pathetic.
Didn’t mean to be that harsh, and I don’t say that previous post to people who have already played dust or those who know there are hidden indie gems. But those whiny people who expect AAA games to be given to them every week need to sit down. There aren’t any AAA PS4 games that have been out long enough to give away at no additional cost.
